I want to start this by saying I am from Kingsport, TN and own a 2021 Subaru STI that I get every single service done at valvoline with my own oil and filter I bring with me. Today I brought my mother’s truck to the valvoline on mercury blvd in Hampton since she has Lewy Body Dementia and my father as also elderly and they are unable to do this. I brought my own oil and filter as I always do. The technician Mike was very helpful in every way possible. The Assistant Manager Jeff however was a different story. Mike said out loud it was customer supplied oil and filter. Jeff then in front all customers decided to berate Mike by telling him he was wrong and that he did not know the corporate policy. When I leaned over in the truck to tell Jeff I always do this and it’s never been a problem he abruptly interrupted me and started to tell me I was wrong. I then told him I wasn’t going to argue with him and that he’s being rude. With my fiance in the passenger seat he leaned over towards the window to tell me if I wanted to see rude he would gladly show me. Long story short, I will NEVER ever revisit this shop in Hampton. I will always go to valvoline as in TN they must teach customer service better. I would stay away from this business in Hampton especially if Jeff is working unless you too would like to get screamed at and threatened.

I came in for an oil change and I do not know much about cars so I had came in for oil change and said I only want an oil change and then after the oil change was made they said that my radiator needed to be flushed keyword needed. They did not say recommended like any other person who knows cars better than me would know so they pressured me into making the purchase basically making me believe that it was a huge problem when it was not in scammed me out of my money. I am very disappointed. I would like to take legal action as I do not make enough money to take care of myself and that absolutely ruined my day believing that man had told me something was really wrong with my car that needed to be fixed, which was not it was just a recommended issue, but instead he showed me a screen and said that I was long overdue and that it was something that needed to be done. Keyword needed as I stated this place is horrible. Don’t ever come here they will try to scam you. I will be taking legal action. You will hear from my lawyer Michael Parsons very soon.

I will never go back to the Valvoline at 11:20 West Mercury. One person there not going to say a lady because she was not acting like one. I have a groupon and it was not visible at the time, she was like u need to read fine print it's not gonna work now. I told her it always does guess what as soon as I drove off it was there the app was messing up. Even though I offered to pay she advice she wasn't gonna do it. So I will never ever go back to that valvoline ever. Probably never vavoline again. She needs some more training how to talk to people. I may be one customer but word of mouth gets around pretty fast.

This was my first time taking my personal car, but I have taken a work vehicle several times. The service is always amazing. I was greeted after being guided into the bay. Jeff was great. I liked the communication between him and Justin who was on the bottomside. I definitely recommend Valvoline.

I have been going to Valvoline for well over 10 years. I started having issues with my car starting. I had just recently had some work done to it (new starter) so I didn't think it was that. I go to Valvoline explaining what was happening with my car starting and they asked if I had gotten any recent woek done and I said yes. They said it was probably my new starter so I automatically went back to AAMCO. I was told there it has nothing to do with my starter and it was actually my battery and they provided me with a print out stating it was a bad battery. I immediately called Valvoline customer service and submitted a claim. I go to Valvoline back to Valvoline a SECOND time, provide the proof it is my battery and the volts was testing as a bad battery (mind you I am still within my warranty because I got the battery from them). Explained the same situation and this is my second time coming back in a day. Technician got the manager Michael who claimed he would do a test which was disconnect the cable from the battery and if the car turns off it's my alternator and not the battery. Completed that, the van cuts off. So, he said ma'am its your alternator it's bad. So, I go and spend over 300 dollars replacing my alternator. Next day car wouldn't start. I go back to Valvoline again and explained I have been coming back and forth while yall told me it wasn't the battery it was alternator, now I have a new alternator. Low and behold it was my BATTERY ALL ALONG! Never needed a new alternator. So, I am like you misdiagnosed my vehicle, got all these excuses, no apologies, nothing free not even an oil change for inconvenience. Not from Michael, field manager or anyone. Just an I can't give no discounts, nothing. Everytime you go there it's people looking like kids touching people's cars. It didn't stop there about a week ago my son takes his car to Valvoline had to pay 135 for a fluid check, these fools accidentally drained his engine oil, had to refill it, no new sticker or anything. I made him go back and get one. I AM DONE WITH VALVOLINE! They're absolutely ridiculous, unprofessional and uneducated and people need to go elsewhere.

Have had positive experiences in the past but was disappointed when stuck waiting behind the bay door for close to 40 min with no communication from the crew regarding the delay. Three cars passed through the second lane while I waited with hungry toddlers in my backseat. We left, and I’ll try for another overpriced drive thru oil change elsewhere tomorrow.

My overall experience pertaining the service of my car was amazing the service team members Justin, Vivian and Zack were superb but unfortunately the manager Michael wasn’t that helpful, he wasn’t willing to help his staff and also that it’s really cold, he didn’t come out to offer help to his team which was short staffed. So seeing that was unfortunate and maybe he needs to be retrained or something in human decency.

I have been a customer of this location for years. Took my Dodge Journey to get it's first oil change after purchasing late last year. I drive back home after the change. This morning I go out to get coffee and notices oil stains in the drive way once I pulled up. I immediately went back to this location. With pictures of my drive way. I did not have an oil leak prior. Was told I have may have an engine gasket leak but didn't have one when I got the oil change. This was odd so I went home degreased the engine and oil pan. I found a fresh gash or hole that happens to be in the spot where the pan and gasket meet. I'm not the smartest man in the world but if that was always there I would have always had an oil leak and my driveway would be covered. And why wouldn't the techs who went under the car to check tell me that it's a hole? After years of being a loyal customer. I WOULD NOT 🚫 recommend using them for anything.🚫

I really like this oil change team — Mike, Eugene, and the others whose names I didn’t catch. They’re not only professional but also bring such joy and laughter to their work. You can feel that they really enjoy what they do and care about the people around them. The teamwork and positive energy here are inspiring. I also shared information about the free Falun Dafa meditation classes with them, and they showed genuine interest in giving it a try. It’s wonderful to meet such positive and open-minded people!

I just wanna start off by saying this is by far the best oil change place that I have ever come to, from the time that I entered till the time I left the customer service giving to me by all employees was top notch. No one had an attitude. Everyone was very welcoming, especially the manager, Albert. He made sure I was getting all the services that I needed and making sure everything was well taken care of on top of asking me more questions pertaining to my vehicle needs ! very well put together team and definitely will be back. My oil change was done in a timely manner and not rushed at all including them showing me that my oil is back clean and filled up and keeping me updated on the next time that I may need a oil change and also offering me a discounted top off in between changes I love a good overall experience especially being a women who knows nothing about her car ! I APPRECIATE THIS TEAM SO MUCH ! Phenomenal experience 10/10

Worst experience I’ve ever had with any service center. As a licensed mechanical contractor with a fleet of vehicles, I rely on competent and honest service providers. This Valvoline location has proven to be the absolute worst place to bring a vehicle for service. A few months ago, I brought my 2021 Tahoe (only 50k miles) for an oil change. I drove approximately 6,000 miles afterward—well within the manufacturer’s 7,500-mile interval. After returning from a 4-week trip out of the country, I moved my truck and immediately noticed a large oil leak. When I checked under the vehicle, the oil filter was visibly loose and oil had been leaking down the entire undercarriage. I filed a claim and returned to the same Valvoline location. One technician admitted that the filter was loose and leaking. However, the manager—a 22-year-old with little customer service or technical understanding—insisted it was “normal sweat,” despite the fact that my dipstick showed zero oil. They refused to add oil, claimed they “tightened and wiped it,” and sent me away with no oil showing on the dipstick. I had to immediately purchase oil myself, and the engine took three full quarts before it even registered. To make things even worse, the field manager—the highest-level representative I was told I could speak with—called me and was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He denied that I even had a fleet account with the company, questioned my integrity, and claimed he “had no way of knowing” whether someone else worked on my truck—even though the truck wasn’t due for any service and had clear evidence of an improperly installed filter. They continued to deny any wrongdoing, hid behind a so-called 3,000-mile “warranty limit,” and refused to take any responsibility—despite the industry standard being 3,500+ miles and my manufacturer requiring a 7,500-mile oil change interval. Their lack of accountability, the poor attitude of management, and the complete refusal to address a clear installation error make this one of the most unprofessional companies I’ve ever dealt with. I would never trust them with any personal or fleet vehicle again.…
