The French Laundry altered my wedding gown (it was quite the intricate process) and did an outstanding job!! Laurie Ann and Rebecca (the seamstress) were both amazing. Laurie Ann really took her time with me and made sure the fit was flawless. She also is the most kind, sweet person!!! I was nervous to let anyone touch the dress, but I am so glad that I put my gown in the care of The French Laundry. The dress fit perfectly on my wedding day -- and they made sure the support bands fit perfectly, the tulle under-layers were not too long for me to walk easily, etc., down to the very last detail. Laurie Ann went above and beyond when I did not have a veil to go with the dress, so instead of spending $700 on a tulle veil (literally -- check stores like BHLDN haha), Laurie Ann made the most beautiful, twinkling cathedral veil with delicate lace to match my dress. It was so delicate and stunning!! Absolutely recommend The French Laundry for anyone looking for wedding dress alterations, now I won't even take my clothes anywhere other than The French Laundry for alterations!! THANK YOU Laurie Ann!!!

Took Army uniform in to have alterations done. Poor job. There was a unrecognized rent in the fabric on the shoulder (350 dollar coat ruined). They also charged me more than I have ever been charged for similar alterations (32 years Army). On top of all this they are just dismissive to you as a customer. I would HIGHLY suggest you go somewhere else. This place needs to reevaluate customer service. I'll don't mind paying more for better work, service or speed this place does not perform on any of these.

Very friendly and great customer service. I needed a pair of suit pants altered in a rush. They were altered and dry cleaned within 24hrs at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Dropped by to have a pair of dress pants and shirt tapered. Popped in around 5:30 (they close at 6), and they took me in right away. I probably spent 30 minutes just chatting with Lori up until closing time. They are incredibly nice, and my outfit looks great. Prices were fair. They avoid using perchloroethylene, and choose a liquid silica based cleaner instead. There was no question that they were genuine, and take pride in what they do. What more could you ask for?

Ok. Just try to find a cool place that talks with you and gets to the heart of your clothing concerns...dare ya! Anyway, go and enjoy being greeted, informed, and taken care of as you might expect from other service providers - and do not usually receive. Nice people. Great service. Do not, under any circumstances, never bicker about the cost! If you don't like what they charge, please do it yourself- 'cuse, ya kno, it's easy; anyone can do it! Uh -huh. Go. Be impressed and grateful. Nice people. Great service. Very realistic on mending assessments and costs. They do their magic on many different levels and with some interesting ideas to bring your items back to their useful lives.

I brought them my only silk shirt to clean and they changed a 5mm coffee stain into a 12 inch stain and handed it back as if it was normal. When I asked them to reclean it, they offered no apology and were indignant and berated me, as if I was being the unreasonable one. When I got my shirt back, the stain was gone, but they had chipped every one of the mother of pearl buttons and caused several shirt snags and rents. I didn't want to be berated again or have them take a blade to my shirt the next time so I left in defeat. I'm in tears. This is possibly the most expensive piece of clothing I own and I only wear it for job interviews. I've always treated it very delicately because I don't have the means to replace it. And now it's ruined and I want to cry every time I see my once lovely shirt. This place is horrible. The owner is a terrible human being. Do not bring your business here. Don't get your heart broken like mine.

I had to attend a funeral and needed my clothes suddenly dry cleaned. I explained that I had to leave town that evening and they had my clothes finished within 4 hours. I made it on time and my belongings were returned in pristine condition. Thanks again!

Dropped my wedding dress off on Tuesday and they had it done less than 24 hours later!! The lady was so sweet and took her time to make these moments special for me. She asked me if my car was dusty or had animal fur (of which it had both!!). The lady gave me a cloth and some mild soap spray to wipe down my bumper AND cut cloth to cover my dusty trunk so it wouldn’t get on my dress!! I could not be happier with how things turned out and I won’t forget the how they treated me!!

Excellent service, excellent rates. Called ahead and got an estimate for turn around time on my gigantic comforter. Brought it in as scheduled and was quoted a slightly earlier finish time. Got my text that it was ready an hour and a half or so earlier than my second estimate. My blanket looked brand new. Location was hard to find because of construction and the parking lot in front of 44 stone made me wish I brought my rock crawler but it was worth it. They even returned my item in a classy bag so when I come back next month I don't look like a crazy person wrapped in a blanket behind a resteraunt, excellent times.

The people I spoke to on the phone were very friendly and helpful. When I called and asked about getting my wedding dress altered, they said to come in anytime before 6. I went in the next couple hours, around 2-3pm, and there was another appointment scheduled. I wasn't told to make an appointment, but the seamstress was pretty rude about the fact that I didn't have an appointment, even though as I explained to her, I'd called ahead and wasn't told to make an appointment. I figured that meant they were free all afternoon, which clearly wasn't the case. The seamstress made multiple remarks about this throughout my visit and made it clear she was upset. I understand that mistakes happen, but this woman really went above and beyond with multiple, repeated remarks. Still, she took my measurements and said she'd get started. This was back in January 2020 and my wedding was scheduled for May. I was told I'd get a call within six weeks about coming in for another alteration. Covid hit about 8 weeks later and I expected a call but didn't get one, so after about 10 weeks total, I called them. Left a voicemail, no reply. I waited a week, called again during business hours, left another voicemail, and finally got a call back within a day or two. When I picked up my dress, absolutely no work had been done on it. Thank goodness I wasn't planning on wearing my dress for a small ceremony as so many brides did. I totally understand not going on with alterations during a pandemic! But I think they should have been in communication about this, especially as they already had my measurements, my phone number, and didn't adhere to the timeline they gave me at all. Truly everyone I spoke to or interacted with was very polite and professional except for the seamstress. When it's safe to have a wedding again, I'll be driving 4 hours round trip to an alterations place in Kansas City to avoid this place (and mostly the seamstress).

Wow. I needed a pair of pants hemmed. I am short and bought a "long" because that was the only size left. It had to be two feet of fabric. Took them in the afternoon of a Thursday and they were done early Saturday. And the price was absolutely comparable to the woman I normally use. I used this place this time because they are so close. Will definitely come back.

The French Laundry has always taken care of my alterations and repairs in a timely manner and done such a great job, I can’t tell where the repair was made. Recently they altered a pair of wide leg pants for my daughter that needed to be rushed and they did the most amazing job. Highly recommend their tailoring services. They are the best in Mid-MO!

My first experience with The French Laundry today was absolutely WONDERFUL. I brought in my wedding dress to have altered and Dakota was so kind and knowledgable. She made sure that the adjustments we made were comfortable for me and took her time (not always the case in the seamstress/alterations world). She asked me about my wedding plans as well and just overall took great care of me. The space is wonderful too, including a completely separate wing for dressing/alterations. I enjoyed the privacy. I have been other places in town where you are getting adjusted out in the open and this just felt much more professional. 10/10 recommend TFL for alterations! I will absolutely be back. They also have green dry cleaning with no chemicals which I am looking forward to trying.

The lady that was always exceptionally rude to me no longer appears to work here so thats a reason to go in. A reason to stay away (and a big one at that) is that they seem to be unable to completely remove stains from things, but still very able to charge.(pictured below is a supposedly clean jacket sleeve, dry cleaning on which was over $20) Will be taking my buisness elsewhere in the future.

Excellent service - we needed a dress done quickly for a wedding and they were able to accommodate a one-day turnaround; affordable too. Would recommend!

The French Laundry is a wonderful one-stop shop for tailoring, mending and green dry cleaning. They are my go-to. I’ve taken many of my pieces here to either have tailored or cleaned, and you can see how much care they put into every item. Even tailored and mended pieces are steamed and pressed upon pickup, which is such a lovely touch. I trust them with all of my wardrobe favorites. They altered my wedding dress, which was a silky, bias cut style (not an easy garment to work with) and they did an IMPECCABLE job. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day. Take your things here and trust they will be cared for well!

I have gone here multiple times for dress alterations and they have done a wonderful job each time! They always get done within 2 weeks for smaller alterations and it always fits and looks beautiful. Customer service is wonderful and pricing is fair.

If you want your dress ruined, your time and money wasted, and your nerves shattered — this is the place for you. I brought my dress in over a month before my wedding to have the sleeves replaced. I was promised everything would be done on time. Not only did they waste my time and use up my own expensive fabric (over $150 per yard!), but the result was absolutely awful. The left sleeve fits terribly, and the dress looks nothing like it should have. To make things worse, the seamstress, Dakota Downs, didn’t even show up during the final fitting when I came to pick up the dress — likely because she knew how poorly the work was done. Now, with only days left before my wedding, there is no time to fix or redo the dress. She has completely ruined it — and with it, the excitement and joy I had for my special day. What makes this even more frustrating is that I paid over $300 — not only for the work, but essentially for them to waste my time, ruin my expensive fabric, and leave me without a wearable dress. So, if you’re looking to ruin your wedding dress, your mood, and possibly even your wedding plans, go ahead and trust this “professional.” Otherwise, stay far away. Here is a photo of the sleeves I had to remove in order to redo them myself. As you can see — they’re completely different from each other. Do I still have any questions about how “professional” this seamstress is? No — if she can’t even cut two matching sleeves, that says it all. Dakota, what exactly did I pay you for?

Our daughter's special blanket (slept with everyday for 8.5 years and made by her great grandma who passed away 5yrs ago) was falling apart and we took it in to see about having it repaired.. we were able to speak to the woman who would be doing it and was quoted 2 weeks and 1hr of labor at $1 a minute, so $60 but they said they would time it and could be less. It seemed high to me but speaking with the seamstress gave us so much confidence in what she would do that we went ahead and left it (did not price anywhere else so I don't know about comparable pricing). It was exactly 2 weeks (14days) when I got the text it was finally ready! I had to call to check on pricing, I wish the texts they send had that info attached and it ended up being $55. I wasn't sure what to expect when we got there.. my daughter was over the moon about it. They somehow got a lovely material (texturally was spot on but thicker so it felt like it would last forever) behind all the holes and the pieces that had been lifting stitched down, it was repaired in places I didn't even clock as needing it. I don't know how she did it, it was flawless! They added the same material around the perimeter edge as well bc it was so frayed. It feels like blankey got a whole new lease on life! The only thing I would've changed was the color of the material they used.. it's blue pinstriped, the blanket is mainly pink and very feminine, if I had been given the option I'd have brought our own fabric or paid to have a different color/pattern used. My little girl loved it though and didn't care about it being blue at all. We are so happy with the results and glad we decided to have it done at the French laundry, it ended up being worth every penny and after seeing all the work done to it, a fair price.
