Important for a woman to find a place that takes care of your mechanical issues without any concerns with being taken advantage of financially or otherwise... Accommodating, courteous, honest service is what I experienced. Estimated cost was double what I was charged and was super impressed with the small town service I felt like I had received from this family's business. Highly recommend.

I've been taking my vehicles to Ross almost since the day he opened his shop, over 20 years ago. It is always a pleasure to do business with Mutrux Automotive. Ross and Cindy run their business like they want your business. The repairs are done right at a fair price, and they don't try to sell you a bunch of other, questionable, services that you may or may not need. They assesses the vehicle and tell you what they recommends, then they expertly do the work that you approve. And they always have a smiling face to pump gas and check your tires. Probably other stuff, as well.

As one of the very few full-service stations left in the area, the Mutrux Automotive/Sinclair team is definitely customer service oriented. Ready to top off the tank as soon as you pull up. No need for you to get out of your auto unless you want to stretch your legs! Air pump for tires available and easily accessed. I also depend on them for auto repairs, tire service, and state inspections. They keep me informed of any unexpected findings and price check on my behalf as needed. Efficient, quality service.

I’ve been to mutrux several times for oil change, inspection, tire balance, etc and they’re always very nice but the prices are outrageous. $209 to replace my spark plugs on my ‘07 Corolla. When I arrived they could not give me an estimate on the service I wanted because “he isn’t a mechanic”. Well $150 in labor alone (my car was At the shop for less than three hours), and even more to turn off a light or something I never asked them to. The explanation of the price wasn’t very helpful over the phone. I also asked them to not roll down my window (it’s off track) and they did. I was recommended them by a friend and they’re close to my job but I will say I will not be returning. It sucks because I want to support small and local business but I well be taking my car elsewhere with more affordable, honest prices.

I am always extremely impressed by Mutrux’s services. But what really separates them from the competition is the kindness of the boss and all the workers. They are an incredibly friendly and helpful group that always goes the extra mile to please their customers. I had a flat late in the day yesterday and they were booked solid with appointments, but they didn’t turn me away. They were able to help fix my tire, which is great because I have a road trip planned for the weekend. And the older gentleman in the Navy hat, unfortunately I didn’t get his name, gave me a ride to my house because he didn’t want me to “have to walk in the rain”. I enjoyed talking with him about his life and our mutual appreciation of old country music. I can’t recommend Mutrux enough for their dedication, friendliness, professionalism, and quality of service. Keep it up, Mutrux!

I called and they got me in the very next morning for an inspection. Ross was extremely nice and helpful. I waited there, and it was done less than 30 minutes later. I would definitely recommend and will be going back in the future. I can see why they've been voted best in automotive care by Columbia Magazine so many times!

In all my years of dealing with car shops, I have NEVER, EVER been spoken to in a more disrespectful, inpatient, dismissive and defensive way. I was nothing but polite and kind and only asked for a price breakdown of the services after being told the car battery was going to be $650. After a back and forth, I recieved the price breakdown and decided to get my car towed to a different shop. I didn't have any problems out of them and I haven't had any issues with my car AND they completed the job for 1/3 of the price.

Everyone there is great especially Cindy and Ross!!!! I had a flat and I was close by, they made it work and fit me in right away to get checked out. When the tire couldn’t be fixed, he put the spare on and fixed me on my way. Such family oriented place, customer service is just the best. I definitely would recommend Mutrux for all your needs!!!

I called a few shops local to me, I've lived in the area for about 2 years. I have not had to see a mechanic since I've moved. I will also admit I'm a bit hesitant to take my personal vehicle to a mechanic I tend to do most maintenance and repairs myself if possible. However with all that being said, my experience with mutrux was nothing short of amazing! Ross was very responsive to my concerns, he was through and went though a few possibilities but in a very collaborative way. I deeply appreciate the way things concluded, fast, efficient and professional. Having worked in a few hobby shops in the past I have the utmost respect for our local mechanics, they keep the world turning and don't get told that enough... Thank you mutrux anyone I interact with will get two huge thumbs up from me, and expect return business from me. But also hopefully not to soon 😂.

The service was fast and very reliable. The Mutrux family run business makes everyone feel at home and comfortable. They provide transportation to and from the shop, which is a plus for someone who is visiting Columbia and has no family or friends in the area to rely on. I would highly recommend this place. While traveling, I experienced some car issues. After calling several places and getting no where. I called Mutrux and talked to Ross. He was willing and able to get my car in to check the issues so that I could get back on the road quickly and safely. He was very good at letting me know the issues and explaining things. While there waiting, the staff was very polite and welcoming. Such a very good homey atmosphere. Cindy and Ross are very professional, sweet, and down to earth people. Thanks!!

They charged me $250 for an oil change and cabin filter replacement. I called back to clarify billing to ensure there were no mixups or added charges since there was discussion of a possible tire rotation. Shop was unable to rotate tires due to a missing wheel lock key. The owner told me that the cabin filter replacement which is broken down as $75 for labor and $30 for the part was because after they replace the cabin filter, they vacuum the inside of the cabin filter area out. The only reason I agreed to a cabin filter replacement was because I thought it would add $50 to the bills, maximum. It is very easy to replace the cabin air filter in your car. The process should take less than 10 minutes. I could’ve gone to an auto shop and bought a cabin filter to replace it for less than half the price. I was just trying to save time and effort. To be fair everyone I interacted with at the shop was very kind including the owner and employees. But taking advantage of unsuspecting customers with outrageous billing is not. It’s unfortunate as I heard a lot of good things about this shop.

I had my first experience with their full service gas pump this weekend and it was a fantastic experience. It felt so great to not have to get out of the car, and after wiping down my windows, Joe was so kind and gave me a dino stress ball when he could tell I was a little hectic hah! I've always appreciated Ross's services with inspections and oil changes, etc- he's fair and efficient! This is an overall a wonderful company that will do a great job and make you feel valued!

Absolutely awful place to go for your car. All they care about is taking your money. Terrible customer service, the woman at the front desk was so rude on the phone and the mechanic was treating me like I was stupid. $150 just to test my alternator and they quoted me $1200 before tax to get it fixed. I felt so uncomfortable talking to them after my first interactions that my dad came up to tow my car out of that place so I could get it fixed at a reasonable price that wasn’t going to treat me poorly. Petty little shop trying to take advantage of women who need their cars fixed and probably college kids too.

I realized while I was sitting in their waiting area that I have never reviewed Mutrux. I have been coming here off and on since Ross and Cindy took it over more than 20 years ago. Mostly for a tank of gas, but also for service on my vehicles and my family’s vehicles. We used to live only a short walk from here and my kids loved walking over to the “Dinosaur Gas Station” when they were little so they could buy a candy bar or. A bag of chips. They thought it was a fun outing. Ross and Cindy and their team have always been great to deal with. The quality of their mechanic work is excellent. I don’t always bring my vehicles here for work, but every time I do I wonder why I take my vehicles anywhere else. They take good care of customers and do top shelf work. They usually have a cool classic car in their lot too for us car fans to admire.

I moved to a house a few blocks away. I read reviews saying they were expensive and thought, I can afford to pay extra for excellent service. Well, that's not how it worked out. I've been there several times. They are very friendly and they mostly know what they are doing, but they charged me to a degree that is off-putting. Once they charged me more to diagnose a problem with water leaking into my car, which they couldn't fix themselves and so they referred me to Expert Glass LLC (incidentally, Mutrux misdiagnosed the problem but that's a minor detail cuz Expert Glass fixed it regardless), than Expert Glass LLC charged me to fix the leak (incidentally: I highly recommend Expert Glass LLC for any car glass repairs). Another time I pulled into their lot after the shop was closed but there were still people working at the gas station, explained that my engine light was flashing and I could hear a piston misfiring, and asked if I could leave my car in their mostly empty parking lot until they could look at it the next morning. They answered that there was a $25 charge for parking there. I asked if I could leave my car across the street and they said they didn't know. That combination triggered me. I decided to get a new car and never ask them for help again.
