I read a lot of reviews saying that the machines would leave marks/ not fully clean their cars well but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, they were true. After only a handful of washes, I am now canceling my membership.

As many other people, my car doesn't wash very well after I come back home from a long distance trip however. WE DO HAVE UNLIMITED WASHES, I drive back around for a second wash and it comes back clean. Lol no biggie. And yes it’s annoying that not all vacuums work but one can assists move to a different parking spot. On a positive note, I do appreciate the young men working in the drive thru. Not sure about the woman at the front desk. But the 5 star is for the men doing a decent job in this heat

I don’t know why I keep giving this place a try. Every single time I pay to get a car wash here no matter the tier, my car is never even close to clean… it’s a waste. And I tried contacting customer support and they ignore me. Not ok.

Decent car wash in a pinch. The vacuums are hit or miss though and the thoroughness of the wash may not be suitable for large vehicles.

This place is in my neighborhood but it's just too bad that all of the really nice people who work here always have to make excuses. I purchased a monthly membership $39.99 which is supposed to have the magical triple foam however once again that feature is not working. The very nice lady walked through the wash as I drove through and then she explained to me that in order to fix this problem she has to shut down the entire system and clean the filters. Why wasn't that checked yesterday before closing? So this means if you're going through the surf through today at montopolis and 183 don't waste your money! Go somewhere else. Because you're not going to get the entire wash meaning you won't get what you paid for even if you go through multiple times!

It’s just conveniently located near the airport, but the vacuums barely have any strength in them. If you go in the afternoon the vacuums will not work. Looks like they don’t really invest much in the machines.

$18 for nothing to wipe your car down with the dryer doesn't dry and they also make you sign a waiver if their machine rips off your antenna on top of your vehicle or causes other roof damages. Car is still really dirty and the vacuums also are not great

Do not take your car here. It’s expensive and the vacuum do not work. I tried giving it a second chance and there was no change. Take your car to Palms instead. It’s cheaper and they have better service.

I don't understand how a car can go thru a wash, and still be as dirty as it was before. The workers didn't scrub the hood, or back of the car before going in the wash, like most other places. Loose dirt is still all over the hood, and back of car. Absolutely terrible....I will not be coming back. UPDATE : I went to get my wash during my lunch break, unfortunately not enough time to talk on property about my problem. I called a little later and a lady named Linda was incredibly helpful and polite. She had me come back after my shift, show my receipt, and put me back thru the wash with an upgraded package. I really appreciated the effort. After reading company policy, I understand why they won't brush the hood ect ect, but I asked them to the 2nd time thru, and all the debris was gone and clean. Thank you Linda and Ryan for making this right with great customer service!

Online membership first month is cheaper(11$). Looks like busy location, towels were not properly washed. One employee at 8pm cleaning the wheels was smelling like under alcohol influence.

I've been coming to this place since Feb. After yesterday's rain I stopped off to get my truck washed... as I was rolling thru the wash I noticed there wasn't any soap coming out like all the previous times, long story short my truck came out looking the same as it went in... I asked if they knew they were out of soap, to my amazement the reply from the employee was "we can run you back through again"...??? Hhmm what good would that do if it didn't do it right the first time... then he said that the dirt was stuck on there... it's road grime from the day before...and says yeah we've been getting complaints.. well I wonder why???

I changed to this carwash from the one on Oltorf because it was closer to my home. I bought two memberships for vehicles I list as rentals on Turo. I detail my vehicles before each guest. I am not trying to be funny but I am not sure anything actually touches the vehicles going through this carwash except water. I often have to go through 2-3 times. Also the vacuums...well good luck finding one that actually works. Save your money.

GO TO PALMS. GO TO PALMS. GO TO PALMS. My first — and last — experience with Surf Express Car Wash was on Saturday (02/07/2026). I’ll lay this out chronologically, because nearly every step of the experience went wrong. First, I pulled through the cashier lane and purchased the $20 wash. About halfway through the wash, my car suddenly came to a screeching stop. Every machine shut off at once. I waited 20… 30 seconds… nearly honked and considered getting out of my vehicle. After about a minute, a siren went off and everything started back up again. No explanation. After the wash, I pulled into a vacuum spot. The vacuums were extremely weak — to the point that it significantly prolonged the process. I’ve used plenty of car wash vacuums before; these were noticeably underpowered. Because the vacuums weren’t effective, I decided to use the mat cleaning machine. I ran one of my floor mats through, and it came out visibly warped and hardened in one area, almost burned. (See attached photos.) I brought the damaged mat to the cashier. Initially, she seemed annoyed that I was raising the issue, but eventually we filed a damage claim. I returned to my car to finish cleaning. About halfway through, I heard someone yelling, “Sir, sir!” It was the same cashier letting me know she had accidentally charged me $60 instead of $20. She said I would receive a full refund. A few days later, on Tuesday (02/17/2026), I received a call regarding the floor mat claim. I was told there was no evidence the mat wasn’t already damaged prior to using their machine, so the claim would not be approved. For context, I drive a 2021 BMW 330i. I’m not trying to scam a car wash over a floor mat. I simply expected their equipment not to damage my property — and if it did, that it would be handled appropriately. I understand how claims processes work, but that doesn’t make this acceptable. Between the wash malfunction, weak vacuums, damaged equipment, incorrect charge, and denied claim — this was a frustrating experience from start to finish. If you’re in the area, I strongly recommend using Palms Express on Oltorf Street instead. GO TO PALMS. GO TO PALMS.

Honestly, I am very disappointed of this place. Very upset about it as a customer. I want to receive a good service. This is not the first time I come to the car wash and a towel rack. It's empty from clean towels full of dirty towels today I had to call the office. I asked for the manager named Linda. She wasn't there Somebody else answer and I forgot to get his name but I took a picture. The guy said he was sorry but you know what this should be a teamwork so while other people are doing something else, he should be stocking the towels. How come after I he Expedite to get clean towels? You don't have to wait until someone gets upset and complained. You need to provide outstanding service. A new customer came and ask for my feedback and I tell him how it is because by the way your vacuums don't even have the string and power to clean very well y'all need to do something about that as well. I came from Mr. car wash to Palms and palms to you guys but honestly, you guys Only have one location and this is what I get my car now It's full of water stains everywhere cause I was not able to wait any longer as I have to work and I car wash every day do better please I am not satisfied Therefore, that's what you're gonna get nothing more until you guys change that!!

Came here today for the first time, and I was really happy with how well their automatic wash did with my exceptionally dirty car! The vacuums had excellent suction, and while I didn't use it this time, I was glad to see a pressurized air line for filling tires. Both the vacuums and the air were included free! Will be returning - best value for the price is you get the works. As of 12/2025, $22.

Tried this place for the first time today. Bought the cheapest wash for $10. There was no soap involved, only water. About 1/3 of my car did not come in contact with any scrubbing surfaces. Hands down the worst car wash I've ever been to. The lowest priced offering shouldn't mean only getting a partial wash.
