My daughter, my bonus son, and I had just finished eating in Johnson City. We were getting ready to get onto the interstate when I noticed Pet Supplies Plus. We decided to drop in seeing as we all have animals cats and dogs alike and check the place out. The foods are more over price than what I could pay but on the other hand there are so many treats and toys, different kinds of treats, loose, bagged, you name it. They also have a donut case looking case that has dog treats in it that's straight-up look like desserts. The biggest thing I saw here was the dog grooming station. There are three different stations, it costs $40 for 5 washes shampoos and conditioners available for you as well. I sure wish I lived closer so I can bring my dogs here for bass it would be much easier than having to clean my tub out or drag out the kiddie pool and water hose.

I have had our dogs groomed 4 times at the Johnson City location. Two times were fine and two were not. The first two times they took all day (golden doodles). But the last two the called after only 2 hours to say that the dogs were done. I had asked for a sanitary trim, a light trim on the body, anal glands, and nails trimmed. Both dogs together were well over $200. When I picked them up, the groomer informed me that they were not able to get one of the dog’s nails very well because “she doesn’t like people touching her feet.” Then she said that the other dogs face is still kind of long because she “wouldn’t hold still.” Both dogs have never had problems before at any groomer. When we returned home the dogs looks like they had only gotten baths and light brushing. The longer dog still had a few mats developing behind her ears and had barely been trimmed. I will not be returning to the groomer salon. The cost is too much for the quality of work.

Used the dog wash today ($16), and everything was neat, clean, and stocked. My dog had a great time, and my back appreciated the raised platform tub to scrub her in. The blow dryer was not as loud as other places so it was not headache inducing and still got my dog dry in a reasonable time. The store from the associates to the aisles this visit was perfect.

I was looking at some fish and noticed there was quite a lot of dead fish in some tanks. And it appears to be dead for a while since they got mold on them. It’s very unfortunate for these fish to be in this living conditions. I own fish for long time so this is making me pretty upset.

A great place to get specialty items for pets! They have a great selection and most items are reasonably priced. We go here once a week to get treats from the little pet deli! Friendly employees also overall a wonderful pet store!

I use the pet wash frequently. The 'tubs' are the perfect height, which saves your back! They provide plenty of towels, and products if you need them. The only thing I don't like are the dryers. They are too loud and only blow cold air. It is not ideal to use the cold air in winter, but no heat...They are so loud that it scares my dog, he will NOT let me dry his head or anywhere around it and shakes while I do the rest. That's the only change I would make. The staff there always greets us, they are always pleasant!

Don’t bother with their grooming services if your dog takes medication. We have used Pet Supplies Plus for years for food, treats, and other supplies. Recently, we started using their self-serve dog wash for two of our three dogs and decided to try their grooming services as well. One of our dogs is a very anxious German Shepherd who takes prescribed Prozac and trazodone daily. We made the grooming appointment over a week in advance which was confirmed by the store and completed her profile online, but at no point were medications mentioned or asked about. Just a request for her rabies vaccine papers. When we arrived for the appointment, the groomer started an intake form and asked whether our dog had taken any medications or sedatives within the last 48 hours. We answered honestly and explained that she takes Prozac and trazodone for anxiety with extra trazodone as needed for things like the vet, groomer, etc as directed by our vet. The groomer then told us they could not groom her because she had taken sedating medication, due to corporate policy. We asked if it made a difference that these were her regular, prescribed daily medications, and she said no—stating they would never be able to groom our dog because of this and that we would need to find another groomer. I don’t understand why this wouldn’t have been mentioned at the time of booking, especially since it’s very common for anxious dogs to take trazodone before appointments. This policy should have been clearly disclosed beforehand. It would have saved us a significant amount of time and spared our dog a great deal of unnecessary anxiety.

It’s been five hours and I’m still shaking so bad from how frustrated I am. I specifically drive from Kingsport to johnson city to use this grooming service. I like how they groom my dog better than the Kingsport location even though the Kingsport location is five minutes from my house. I got there at 10:50 and was told that it would be 45 minutes to an hour before they could take my dog back there to get him groomed. She mentioned something about double booking. Next time, call the customer! Keep in mind his appointment was at 11. After some back-and-forth, I decided to leave him. Before I left, I asked to speak to one of the supervisors to see if this was normal. I’ve brought him here multiple times and never had an issue of them taking a while to start on him. The manager said it wasn’t normal and after some talking, I decided to head out. My friend and I went to some thrift shops. I got to one of the registers after going to four stores, and when I looked at the time it was 115. I was extremely shocked because I still hadn’t gotten a call from them even though they said it would be about an hour to groom him and about 45 minutes till they started on him. I called and when the guy answered, he told me it was gonna be an additional 45 minutes before my dog was done. Keep in mind my dog has been locked in a cage since 11 AM and it’s now 115 and they’re saying it’s gonna be till two when they finish with him. That’s three hours of having my dog! I asked to speak to the manager because I was frustrated and I felt so guilty leaving my dog there. I should’ve just taken him home when they said it was gonna be a wait time. I trusted they were going to stick by their word and take care of him within two hours. When they told me it was gonna be 45 more minutes, all I could think was that my dog has been locked in that crate for probably two hours and they’re just now starting on him. I could’ve cried. I felt so guilty! When the manager came on the phone, he said that he would make sure things got done quickly, and it would only take 15 more minutes and I could come pick up my dog. When I got there, The person who is grooming my dog wouldn’t make eye contact with me, didn’t apologize for the wait or thank me for my patience, and just handed me the leash and turned around to walk away. Even the supervisor was back there watching one of the dogs and he didn’t even speak up and say anything. He knew my frustrations and didn’t say a word. I would’ve expected at least a discount for all the hassle that I’ve been put through. Paid full price and left so upset. On top of that! My dog is acting so docile since he got home. That is not like him at all. He’s normally spunky, energetic, and in your face. He’s taken about three naps since he got home. I can’t imagine how scared he was sitting back there with the loud noises. I will never go to that location again especially how this situation was handled. Shame on the groomer and shame on the manager!

Do NOT shop at this store! I don’t normally rate businesses this poorly, but this one really treated us badly. We purchased fish from this store. We told the associate that was waiting on us that we only wanted female fish, as we didn’t want to put a male into our tank that has only females. After a week or so we discovered that they put a male in the mix! I called the store and was told I could bring it back and exchange it for a female since I was in the two week timeframe for returns. When we got to the store with the male fish in hand, we were told that they wouldn’t take it back. Apparently, this was store policy. I wasn’t told this on the phone. They said the store associate I spoke to on the phone a couple of hours previously tried to call me back and explain her incorrect advice. I checked my phone while standing there in front of the 3 associates telling me this, but there were no calls from this store. There was no attempt to make this right by the store. It was as if they didn’t care that they messed up. I spent over a quarter tank of gasoline getting up there and back for this kind of treatment. Very poor customer service. I will not be shopping at this store anymore.

Overall I like the store but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE GROOMING AT ALL, today I took in my dog to get groomed because I had a coupon for the salon and I thought I would give it a try. I paid over $90 and it was not good. It doesn't even look like his ears were done it doesn't look like his nails were clipped his hair is still in his eyes he just doesn't look good at all especially for the money I should have kept the appointment at PetSmart. I need to take him somewhere to get fixed but I don't have the money now after paying for a full groom and the added doodle package which I am not sure after everything else if it was even done. For other things I like the store I like to shop local I like to get my food for my dog and cats there but we will not be using the Grooming Salon ever again.

I stopped out of a whim to see if they had PURE salmon oil , unfortunately they did not. BUT when I arrived ( I’m from Bristol and was just in the area) I realized it was exactly closing time. The kind STAFF greeted me with smiles I apologized and thanked them for letting me in - I found they carry Fromm dog food which is hard to come by but it is the BEST and the prices here are great!!! I will be back thank you to the kind staff

Lauren is the BEST GROOMER for my goldendoodle LucyLu. We were so fortunate to have found her after moving to Kingsport from Buffalo, NY. We travel a little but Lauren is worth it. Lucy loves her! In fact we have been very impressed with the entire staff. Always knowledgeable and willing to help. Thanks guys!
