Coming in before work because my window would not roll down. To avoid the embarrassment of this happening in the Starbucks drive thru I decided to see if a fuse had gone out. I entered the store with the most welcoming smile from Richard at 8 in the morning. He instantly took charge to see how he can fix my situation. I am a novice to say the least, I wear scrubs for my job. However that didn’t stop Richard from educating me on ways to solve the problem. As I checked the fuse he pulled up on his computer to see if it was no longer alive in my car , I noticed it was just loose and needed to be put back in. Crisis averted. This made my day. I went back and thanked Richard from saving me a headache due to an unnecessary trip to a mechanic. He is a 5 star guy.

Was served by an old woman named Dian for a battery replacement and was immediately greeted with an attitude. She gave us the battery and we asked if they offered to change the battery for us, and she flatly said no, then told us to bring back the old core quick. She didn’t offer to look at our car nor did she check in with another employee. When we came back after learning how to do it ourselves, we saw her changing a man’s battery along with another truck getting serviced. We returned it at the desk and she gave us a backhanded comment that we didn’t bring in the old core fast enough and she thought we were doing it in the parking lot. She didn’t offer to look at our car either. I called them and they said they offer battery replacement toolkits which she did not mention at all, especially when she thought we were replacing it at the parking lot. The only person that was helpful was Rick or Ricky who had answered the phone.

My oil light went on during a 3-hr trip and I knew I also need to replace my windshield wipers. The two young men working on August 10th helped me pick out the oil and wipers for my vehicle and installed the wipers and added oil. So grateful for their excellent service!

It's sad to say, but I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at AutoZone. I was returning an unused battery that I had bought from AutoZone, because a tow truck driver from AAA had tested it (I had it sitting in my car at the time of the tow because the auto body shop I was being towed to was going to install the new battery), and the driver's device told him that the new battery would not be sufficient to start my engine. He did not gain anything by telling me this info, and he did not tell me to go to AAA for the right kind of battery; in fact, he encouraged me to go to Costco. I shared this with Chris at AutoZone. He immediately acted very suspicious of AAA and even said, "Don't always trust AAA." He asked if I had my receipt, and as I was looking through the AutoZone app, I told him I didn't have my receipt. But even as I said it, I found the section of the app showing recent purchases. I located a digital receipt, and I asked him, "Oh, I have the digital receipt. Is this ok?" His voice dripping with sarcasm, he said, "Then yes, you do have your receipt. It doesn't matter if it's physical or digital. You have your receipt." He was also rude to my wife when she was trying to explain to him that the AAA tow truck driver had mentioned the voltage of the battery not being a match with our car. While we were talking to Chris, he also received two phone calls from customers and was curt with them. He sounded very impatient as he spoke to them, and he even slammed his fist on the counter several times. The language he used with them was unprofessional. Even if you're having a bad day at work, it's important to treat all customers with respect, and to not say anything that would imply that you think they are unintelligent. When you treat a customer poorly, you run the risk of causing a domino effect. I will never shop at the Vacaville AutoZone again; what's more I will tell my friends and coworkers to avoid that place. One customer and many potential customers have been lost. I wish I had the name of the employee who had first sold me the battery to begin with. He was very kind and helpful, and when we had called AutoZone to tell them we would be returning the battery, he apologized for giving us a battery that was not a good fit for my car. But as great as that young man was, I can't go back to this location because of Chris's poor customer service.

Shoutout to Richard for the amazing service! I wish I could give him 100 stars. My car wouldn't start this morning, and after I jumped it and drove to this location, he tested my battery right away. Even though it was raining outside, he stayed out there to help me install the new battery and made sure I was good to go. Super professional, fast, and friendly service.
