Stayed here 12/23/23-12/26/23. We were aware of the problems the Asheville area has been recently having with car break-ins. We utilized the underground parking, and our car was okay during our stay. The property features a central location close to all the Biltmore Village has to offer. We thought the price was good. The room was comfortable, clean, and relatively quiet for our stay (some late TV noise through the shared wall). Not pet friendly, which was terrific for us due to allergies. The gym facility was okay. I was able to get in a limited cardio workout on the treadmill. Ideally, for me, at least, the gym area would have more space and could benefit from a cooler temperature and the addition of a basic piece of equipment that would allow for some strength training with a pull-up bar. Claudia, along with the entire front desk team, was personable and professional and helped make our stay pleasant and fun. Special shout out to housekeeping. The Housekeepers were wonderful, kind, personable, and professional in their work.

First, I got lost and had to call for directions. Anna was wonderful. I was right across the street. She gave me great help and was very friendly. When I arrived she already had my reservation pulled up thanks to seeing my phone number on caller ID. The room was very modern and luxurious. Anna was wonderful as was everyone else I dealt with.

Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel that was a great value. It was formerly a Holiday Inn & Suites, so furnishings and finishes seemed a step above the Express brand. It was nice having a Keurig machine in the spacious king room. The bed was comfortable, and a blackout shade made for a nice dark room. Hallway walls had some scuffs, and the room heat was tricky to adjust, but these were minor issues. Biltmore Village was a short walk away. The hotel added a $50 deposit at check-in for incidentals, but not having any, this charge was not on my final bill. So, that was not an issue.

Check in was a nice experience, the lady was very nice and friendly. However the online pictures and description of the hotel is very misleading. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. I assume that is how it will look after the current construction that is going on. We were on the 3rd floor and the down elevator button didn’t work on the main elevators. You had to use the service elevator to go down to the lobby and if you needed to go to the 1st floor after getting to the lobby you then had to switch to the main elevators to get to the 1st floor. We were not at all impressed with the breakfast.

When we booked this hotel it was a Holiday Inn, so we weren’t sure what to expect after receiving a call telling us the name had changed. We had always loved the location and the amenities of the hotel, and those, of course, had not changed. The staff was helpful and handled a small issue with our reservation with professionalism. We loved that they had done away with the single use toiletries and added dispensers by both the sink and in the shower. They also have added a complimentary breakfast which was a nice touch, although the offerings were pretty much standard complimentary breakfast fare. We were told it will eventually be rebranded as a Marriott hotel, so we look forward to future stays with hopefully the same rate range as it’s been in the past!

This hotel was extremely convenient in terms of accessing the surrounding areas. The rooms were comfortable as well. The star of the show, however, was Yamil. Talk about a superstar! He greeted us with a smile and assured us that he was there to make our stay flawless. I have never encountered another front desk employee with such a great personality. 10/10 would come back for this reason. Give this man a raise! (PS- I made him pose for this picture. Such a good sport!)

Horrible service and anti-hospitality at check out especially. Decent but not awesome location. Renovated rooms are nice. But much of hotel is under construction. Fitness center closed. Bathrooms closed on main floor. Breakfast is meh. What really upset me is that this semi-functional hotel really harassed me to get out of the room by 11am. They knocked and called several times and refused to extend even by 30 minutes. This is NOT my usual experience as a very loyal Marriott customer. The staff needs serious training on politeness and accommodation to guest needs. To allow me a little grace to extend by 30 mins would not have been an issue for them. I’m here visiting my mother in the hospital and got delayed due to conversations with doctors. I was moving as fast as I could to pack up and the harassment and attitude was really impolite and unnecessary. If this is the treatment I get as a gold elite Marriott member, I can’t imagine how they treat others who do not travel as much. I hope this review will help them improve.

We were booked into one of the newly remodeled rooms and they are very modern and minimalistic. There was a smart fridge, more than enough outlets, and the beds were very comfortable. I was disappointed to find there is no microwave, which makes it very inconvenient coming in late at night and no food close by. It was explained to us that there was not one in the lobby area because of the homeless coming in and using, it really doesn't explain why there wasn't one in the room. The luggage carts are a ridiculous design and tip very easily. The breakfast provided, was scrambled eggs,Canadian bacon, patty sausage. Oatmeal with a variety of toppings, dry cereal, toast and bagels. The eggs were tasty, the meats were dried out and burnt. The ice vending machine was not functioning. I would not necessarily advise anyone against staying here but it is not someplace I would visit again.

I was skeptical upon arrival due to renovations in progress and an empty parking lot! However, that changed when I got to the front service desk! Yamil (a young guy) and his partner (a young lady) working at the desk were both very friendly during my check in process and assured to me that they will do their best to provide anything I may need during my stay! Yamil exceeded my expectations when it comes to receiving excellent customer service! It’s the small things like for him offering to take the pizza box from me to discard it himself when I was inquiring where is the dumpster since it did not fit in the hallway’s trash bin! My room was very clean, organized & stocked up on towels. I will be returning to this hotel on my next visit to Ashville :)

A wonderfully minimalistic modern & stylish hotel - spotlessly clean. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. A fantastic continental breakfast with really fresh and different produce. No paper plates and plastic utensils here!

This hotel is under renovation and lacks amenities. The temporary lobby (greeting desk) is off the garage entrance. The breakfast buffet is sub-par. (We ate a full breakfast for $15 pp at the Double Tree across the road.) The renovated rooms are nice but there are no reading lamps bedside. The staff is very accommodating but are limited by the renovations. I would opt for the Double Tree.

We had an excellent experience at the Scenic Hotel during our recent work trip. The hotel itself is beautiful, with clean and comfortable accommodations that made our stay relaxing after long days. The staff truly stood out—Yameil and Ana were exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome, providing top-notch service with genuine kindness and professionalism. Their attentiveness made a big difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We highly recommend the Scenic Hotel and will definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

Even as it is, the hotel is under renovations after the horrible hurricane that hit this city. The service was amazing. They went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible (special thanks to Anna and Yamir in the front desk). 5 minutes from Mission Hospital and 10 from downtown, I really liked this hotel for me and my family

Property is under construction, supposedly 8 to 8. That except for 2 AM to 3 AM hammering. Breakfast till 10, incorrect. I got there at 9:35, server had shut down everything electric, no waffle batter. The typical omelette but better than there other locations. Egg were mostly chives. We “had” room 417, the A/C was cold but so loud i though it was a construction machinery. The toilet refilled it self every 45 seconds. I gotta say the remodel is beautiful, but lacks functionality. The bathroom door is obscure glass and shuts itself automatically. When the lights are in in the bathroom, it lights up the entryway. To the point it disturbs anyone trying to sleep. The deadbolt needs instructions and a diagram to interpret. The bedside lights are pretty bad, and finding there switches in the dark is a real challenge. I would not recommend staying there til remodeling is completed. The remodeling is beautiful.

Fantastic hotel. It's under refurbishment but the rooms are fantastic. The lobby and other public areas are not quite done yet but don't hesitate to stay here. The price is perfect and location, you are maybe a quarter mile from Biltmore, it's def walkable. CLEAN. CLEAN. CLEAN!!! Yamil greeted us upon arrival -- GIVE THE MAN A RAISE --- He is so friendly, FUNNY, and helpful. We will stay here again.

They're undergoing some renovations but that didn't affect us in any way. Great, friendly staff. The rooms are new and very nice. The decor is modern but warm and inviting with very comfortable beds. The bathroom is spacious and spotless.

BARE BONES HOTEL. We knew this hotel was having remodeling on several floors but this was a HORRIBLE place to stay. The renovated rooms are VERY dark. The only place with adequate lighting is the bathroom which has a frosted GLASS DOOR! So when someone goes to the bathroom in the middle of the night and turns on the light to see what they are doing, THE WHOLE ROOM LIGHTS UP waking the other person who was sleeping. The toilet is square and is very small (we are not large people). The bed had a depression that my husband kept falling into. There was only one microwave in the whole place and it didn't work properly. When I asked if Marriott couldn't afford $50 for a microwave, staff said it was left over from a Holiday Inn that previously occupied the building. There was no decaf at the breakfast buffet. The floor in that area was covered with paper and taped causing a tripping hazard. While trying to eat breakfast, several of the Mexican housekeeping staff talked and laughed so loudly that I couldn't hear my husband who was sitting beside me.

This “hotel” wants to act luxurious when in reality, a stay at Holiday in Express would’ve been nicer. They had the worst food for the worst prices. We were on a time crunch so we got dinner at the hotel! Makes sense, the higher price is for convenience because we got places to go. After paying for multiple 18 dollar burgers we had to wait FORTY MINUTES after mentioning we were on a time crunch. The bun was nice but that was the only good part of it- the meat was bland, tough, and clearly had been frozen. It is an insult on a plate, especially considering the high price point. Another member of our party got the “garlic chicken” with arugula. This chicken was hard to cut, burnt at the ends, and rubbery. The arugula, somehow, was even worse. We moved on and went to our event, struggling to ignore the $60 culinary scam they had just pulled on us. The next morning, one other member of my party and I went to get breakfast. The way they laid it out implied it was complementary, you know, the way breakfast works at every other hotel. Their food was slightly fancy and generally okay, but I did not eat nearly enough to warrant the price point of $17 a person. In addition, they offered some hot breakfast items. The price was not listed on this two item menu, but we assumed it wasn’t free due to the people around us receiving checks. After my meager portion, they charged us. I complained about how insane of a price $17 is for some fruit, a few pieces of meat, and two churros. They said it was European style. I said I wasn’t European, and we notably aren’t in Europe where they apparently charge for everything. 34 dollars all together for food that cost the hotel less than ten.

Received an email that the hotel was being renovated; it added to our adventure! Both Chelsea and Yamil were amazing hosts during our stay. Free complimentary breakfast and covered parking. Yamil pointed out some great dining places for us to try; Juicy Lucy's was a great recommendation! Thank you for making our stay more desirable, Yamil.

Pardon their medicine understand this hotel is going through a complete renovation. I'm telling you this thing is going to be absolutely awesome when it's finished! The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I love the layout and everything about it. They even had the touch of having the shower hose so you can clean everywhere really good. Stop by and check this place out!
