Called twice to schedule service on my Mini Cooper. Called Tuesday, never heard back. Called again today and still no response. Anyone else have this problem?

If you are thinking about buying a Mini Cooper go see Jeffrey Stanton at Mini of Plano! Excellent service from Jeffrey & the entire group at Classic BMW! I searched a lot of dealerships, I am so happy that I went with Classic.

I've been waiting, nearly a year, to write this review of awful service. If I could give zero stars, I would. Last July I took my car to MINI of Plano for recall service. While there, I asked them to diagnose the cause of a small amount of smoke upon first starting my car after it sat awhile (greater than 5 days or so). The charged me $250 to look. I agreed, assuming I would likely have them do the work, but hell no. They told me the smoke was due to a minor seepage around my turbo charger housing. They told me they would have to replace my whole turbo charger for $9,500. They told me they would not do anything less than replace the whole turbo charger (e.g. just repair the minor leak) in order to warranty their work. The valet then had the audacity to use that moment to recommend I start thinking about my next car. She, seriously, thought I should go talk to their sales team. Mind you, my MINI only had about 57,000 miles at time. I left pissed and insulted to have to pay $250 for that garbage diagnosis. Why wait this long to write? I finally had the repair done on my car by a certified MINI technician at a local euro shop.. they diagnosed the issue as needing my turbo oil lines replaced. The repair cost only $700, which is wonderful in contrast to the $9,500 Sewell quoted! Never, ever would I trust or recommend Sewell MINI of Plano. Unbelievable. Crooks who will then try to sell you a new car on top of their dishonest service quote. THE WORST. That was my first and last Sewell experience.

I worked with Jeff Stanton on the purchase of my 2018 MINI. He was professional in every way. A class gentleman who made excellent recommendations and kept me informed about the status of the special order car. We’ve kept in touch since the sale as he assisted me on a special project. My relationship with MINI of Plano started when I loaned them my 1992 Mini Classic for the original grand opening. I highly recommend both the MINI as the most fun car you will ever own, and this dealership.

Kendall Richards, my salesman spent almost 1 1/2 months finding me the exact car I wanted. I first started talking with him when their website advertised one very close to the one I wanted. We both learned that it had sold the next day, so he continued looking in the reputable auction sites until he found one that matched my exact requirements. He then worked on the price, the certification, the warranties (yes, i bought a maintenance plan after they worked with me on the best ones). I love this car, but just as much, I love Sewell Mini and Kendall for making me the most important customer (I'm certain, however that ALL of their customers are the most important). I can give a better recommendation, and if you look at my other reviews, it's nearly impossible to get 5 stars.

I dropped my Mini off for service on Friday 7.25.25 It needed brakes and tires and the headlight trim was warped. I picked up the car on Saturday and my Service advisor David was off. I drove the car home and noticed the bonnet had a small dent and scratch near the replaced trim. I called David on Monday and left a message, no call back. Thursday I texted him another message along with a photo of the damage, no reply and no call. Wednesday of the next week I called and he was off so I left a message for the service manager, no call. I asked for the service manager’s email address and I was told that it was not available! Friday I called and left one more message for David, no call back. I guess I am done! This is my 3rd Mini and the worse service ever! I am so disappointed because I was so accustomed to excellent service 😢

Service drive staff sometimes don’t do their jobs properly; when your car is done, they’re supposed to notify you by text message; But somehow they think it’s okay by ignoring and sending text at all. Instead they just have you wait in the lounge like a fool; and they think wasting your time is okay. It’s not even that busy because when you’ve finally had it enough and walked out of the lounge, you‘d see those staff members just sitting there and chitchatting. And this is not the first time. How is this “SEWELL” service standard?

Six stars and two thumbs up to Jeff Stanton at MINI of Plano. Buying and selling of cars is usually a stressful experience; not so with Jeff. He listens, focuses on the customer’s situation and needs, and finds ways to make things work for everyone’s benefit. He helped me on both the buy side and on an early lease termination and was not only very professional, but also a gentleman. Hats off to Jeff! Give him a raise!!

Told us on the phone they had the part to fix my car that has a recall on it. We arrive and they try to charge us a fee for checking the recall then they state they don’t have the part like they said they did and that it would be after 11 the next day. If they would have said all that to begin with I wouldn’t have travelled here from north Louisiana the day before I have to travel down south for work.

My first experience with Sewell and Sewell Mini of Plano and I am impressed! I have worked in the corporate auto industry for over 35 years and I can say this was a benchmark for the service department there. Easy to make an appointment, convenient times and excellent personal service. Jamilatou (Jamie) was an excellent service advisor who went through everything that was needed for my service as well as a long standing recall item that needed to get done. Offer of a loaner car was hassle free. I do want to point out the greeter and the vehicle runners too who offered water/drinks at drop off and pick up as well. Fantastic service and customer focus. Me and my Mini (Isla) are very happy!

Took 2010 Mini Cooper in (purchased from this dealership) and they quoted $1600 to repair the CAS module. Then a day later they quoted $2600 since somehow forgot to include parts in the first quote. Decided to repair it myself. Plus I was charged $265 for the diagnostic and have not even received any paperwork with the diagnostic a week later despite asking for it. Plus the car could be shifted into neutral when it arrived, but when it left it could not. So worse than when it arrived. Dealerships often pump up their ratings with reviews from new car buyers, so be sure to check out real service experiences like this one.

Disappointed by my last few visits to the service department. Inspections not performed as outlined on my paperwork. Oil not topped off to appropriate levels after I specifically came in because of the check oil light. Absolutely ZERO coolant in my car after the same visit. I had to buy oil and coolant and do it myself. They could not tell me which type of fuel additive my vehicle requires and it is literally printed (from the factory) inside my fuel door to use additive regularly. Recently quoted $15k for repairs. After checking paperwork, I found I was being double charged for parts. Quote dropped to $9k. The response was basically "well we typically don't provide a written estimate with all the parts so you should be grateful we even did that." Really? You want to charge customers 15 THOUSAND for repairs and don't believe they should know where their money is going? Inexcusable. I doubt whether all the repairs are actually needed and I'm getting a second opinion. I also doubt whether the last oil change was performed given the extremely low mileage I put on my vehicle. Trust is forever broken, MINI of Plano. You are just like all the other dealer service departments who want to take advantage of people while making them feel like you are doing them a favor. You should be ashamed.

I went to Sewell MINI to look at a couple of vehicles and get some ideas on what I want, and I have to say, I'm impressed. The showroom is incredibly nice, big, and clean. The employees are super nice and everything, making the experience even better. They have a very, very big selection of vehicles, including so many top-of-the-line, beautiful MINI Coopers. The showroom is a proud representation of the MINI brand, and I was super surprised to see the variety and quality of their selection.

I had a very disappointing experience with this service center. I initially brought my car in to address a visible front bumper gap. Throughout the process, I asked multiple times how this issue would be handled, but never received a clear or consistent explanation. When I was told the vehicle was “ready for pickup,” the gap was still clearly present. When I questioned this, the advisor Brandon insisted that the condition was “normal,” without providing any technical explanation or documentation. His response felt dismissive rather than professional. After driving home, I discovered that the car’s antenna had been removed and left loose inside the vehicle, clearly indicating the car was not actually ready for pickup, despite being marked as such. In addition to this, during a previous visit, I was once informed that my car had multiple serious issues. I later found out those inspection results actually belonged to another vehicle, not mine. After I raised the issue and had the car rechecked elsewhere, the shop admitted the mistake but offered no apology or follow-up explanation. Between the miscommunication, lack of accountability, and poor quality control, I have lost confidence in this place. I would strongly advise others to double-check all work and documentation if choosing to come here. Also I will not longer buy car here anymore.

Customer service at BMW of Plano is excellent, the building is beautiful, and the manager was very understanding throughout my visits. Unfortunately, the mechanical side of the experience was disappointing. In August 2025, I went in for a state inspection and to have a rattling noise behind the iDrive screen checked. I was told parts needed to be ordered. I was charged for those parts even though they were covered under warranty, and I did not hear back until November—only after I reached out—when I was told the parts had finally arrived. The rattling noise was fixed, but the trim was scratched in the process. I returned, and both the advisor and manager acknowledged the damage and agreed to replace it. I brought the car back in mid-December and it stayed for a day, but I was then told more parts had to be ordered. I picked up the car with a new rattling noise, a scratched trim, and now a scratched seat- I know it’s small but it wasn’t there when I handed the car to them. While the customer-facing staff were professional and helpful, the mechanical care and attention to detail were severely lacking in my case.

Good sales team but this new leadership or owner for services is not trustworthy. Don’t trust the services done esp if your car is post warranty. Quality is terrible, inconsistent. Advice rechecking work done. Often comes out worse than when you brought it in. Had issues with ignition coil where my car decelerated. Told me needed a new battery when it wasn’t the case. Brake flush that led to bigger issues with my breaks. Same valve cover gasket leaking 2 yrs after it was supposedly fixed. I found the one in mini of Dallas slightly better but the best mini service is a shop in Addison. Know Minis well and reasonably priced. Also European autocare (Plano and Lewisville are better). Sewell Service sales (the one that greets you) seem to have a quota pushing unnecessary repairs than needed. They’ve lost their Sewell brand. Complete lack of QA post maintenance or repair. If you love your mini, go elsewhere. I’ve purchased two cars from Sewell and serviced there for 15 years but hit my limit with mini of Plano after another major failure after it was serviced there.

Leasing a car here was an amazing experience! Doug is an excellent salesman- not pushy, very patient and knowledgeable. Went above and beyond. Follows up too. He stayed late/after hours for us and made sure we got the best deal while it was still available. Finance department was efficient. At car pickup- staff member went over all of the car features and answered all questions- not rushing us. They also offer a tech class where you can receive a more in-depth understanding of your vehicle. Doug also followed up by phone two times after purchase to make sure we were satisfied. If you are in the market for a Mini, BMW or used vehicle, I highly recommend Sewell. Ask for Doug!
