This place is a hidden gem! How have I not ever heard of them until now? I've been to almost every single car wash in Pasadena and they all rush the job and then I have to spend another 20 - 30 mins making them go back over a bunch of missed stuff. OR I get super service and it costs me upwards from $250. I am sold! I'm letting no one else touch my car. My car was SPOTLESS! Frank now has a customer for life!

My mechanic told me that I had an oil leak, and the only way to fix it would be to have the engine steam cleaned so they could determine where the leak was coming from. I could not find any other detailing business in Pasadena that still steam cleaned engines, so I brought my car to Frank. When I arrived, he up-sold me on getting my head lights detailed/polished. They were pretty dirty so I agreed. I pointed out my air filter as something to be careful of during the clean. When I returned to pick up my car, the headlights looked amazing, and the engine was much, much cleaner, but I immediately noticed the damage to my air filter. When I pointed it out, he first told me it was like that when I dropped it off. No, it was not, I had a picture. Then he said it would go back to normal after it dried out. No, I am pretty sure it will not. The he said it looked old and it probably needed to be replaced soon anyway. No, this is a performance air filter that is designed to be cleaned and re-used for the life time of the car. He told me to give it a few days to see if it goes back to normal then I could call him to work something out. In the meantime, his staff could not get my car to start. Eventually they had to open the spark plug cover box and use a leaf blower to dry it out before it would start. I called him a few days later, and long story short, he reluctantly agreed to replace my air filter, and after a month and a half of me following up with him each week he finally came through with it. Within that time I had to take my car back to my mechanic for a complete tune up because it was misfiring. I had less than 10,000 miles on my spark plugs, wires and ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor, but they all had to be replaced because they had corroded. My mechanic said it could have been a combination of the steam clean and the car having not been driven for a year during the pandemic, but it didn’t really matter anyway, because I signed a release of liability agreement with Frank that stated “Frank’s 2000 Detail Center does not take any responsibility for Mechanical or Electrical failure after steam cleaning motor, which is requested by Owner of vehicle.” Ultimately, Frank and his staff did work hard to clean my engine, and my headlights look beautiful, but if I had to do it over again I would not. I found Frank to be dismissive of me and the damage his staff did to my property, which he only took responsibility for after I forced the issue. Frank never returned my calls when he said he would, he never followed up with me when he said he would, and only purchased the exact replacement filter when I finally started showing up to his business 4-days in a row to make sure this issue was correctly addressed and properly resolved. He may do great auto detailing work, but I would never bring a car to him for an engine steam clean again.
