Very poor customer service at this location especially Eastern European female associate who had no clue what she was doing and thought I was working for her. Recommend: avoid this location or go to ACE or Lowe’s

I stopped going to Home Depot because every time I went, I had to hunt down someone to help me. This time, I walked in and was immediately assisted. I'm not a diyer or in construction. I have no idea what to do with most things in the store, but there are times when you have to go to a hardware store. I truly appreciate the gentleman who assisted me. I'll be back as long as I can continue to feel welcomed in your store.

Home Depot is great for their reasonable prices. I became disappointed by the store a few months back when my husband and I went to pick out appliances for my new home. All was well with the purchase until their delivery people decided they would prefer to deliver on their time and not on our scheduled time. We finally received our appliances after three scheduled deliveries. I now only purchase from them what I can take out myself.

Very helpful ladies when purchasing tools that were caged. Even walked me to self checkout and assisted through it. Weather or not my appearance is the reason for the special attention, I’m still very satisfied with my experience. One of the best retail stores in the entire state of Delaware.

I was helped by a gentleman another employee introduced as Mister Tommy. He was remarkably helpful, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, walked me to the aisle and explained everything I had in my hands and exactly how to complete my project, he made it easy and simple. If I could give a 6th star just for how well he helped me today, I would.

They are the absolute worst. I would never buy anything from here again. We waited 2 hours for a curbside pickup order on 6/10/21. We had two separate orders with DIFFERENT order numbers. Two totally different doors. We were only picking up 1 door at this time. They brought the door out on a pallet wrapped up. We never signed a thing nor were we asked. Once we got home and unwrapped the door, we noticed that it was the wrong door yet our email reflected a pickup for the correct door. I immediately called customer service, spoke with a rep by the name of Tricia and was told to bring the door back. WHAT? Why would I bring a door back when your staff internally dropped the ball? I was given a wrong order. I’ve already been inconvenienced twice over. I asked that they send someone to pickup the incorrect door and deliver my correct door. I was told repeatedly that they could not do this and that they could only cancel it and I would need to reorder and wait the 3-6 weeks for a new shipment. That makes no sense. So you can’t send the same person who is coming to pick up the incorrect door to bring my door that I supposedly already picked up? Perhaps another local dispatch company that your store contracts with since after all this was your mistake? NOPE. I spoke with a customer service supervisor by the name of Faith who TOLD me that I signed something and once you sign off on paperwork that the item is correct it is your own risk. How are you going to tell me that I signed something when I told you I did not? Do you think I wanted the wrong door? I told them cancel it all. I don’t want anything from this company. Maybe they are forging signatures at this store being that they have a hard time fulfilling curbside pickup orders timely and competently from the looks of the past few reviews I’ve read. It took 4-5 more calls with home depot customer service to get this issue straightened out along with my refund. Apparently the supervisor Faith had never put in a case for the door to be picked up as she stated she would. I was told to allow 4-7 business days for contact from dispatch since their crew was backed up. I gave them time and waited until 6/21 to call back customer service. On that day I spoke with a rep by the name of Melissa who confirmed that no case had been created. Fortunately, this rep was very competent enough to rectify the issue for me. The door was picked up on 6/24. I just got off the phone with another rep today by the name of Heaven. A month later and I’m still trying to straighten out the last refund for the door that I had never received. She called the store to get some answers. Now the Home Depot online order confirmation emails say that they will hold your items for 7 days unless you call and work out another arrangement. So if you do not pick your order up in 7 days that would imply that someone in the store with be going through the 7 or 8 day list inventory and processing those back as returns. I would surely think those working in curbside and online orders in the physical store eventually have to review the inventory for put-backs and ask themselves: If something is marked off in the system as picked up, WHY IS IT STILL HERE?! Maybe this is something that requires further investigation. But Why would I expect such logic? Being that I never received the door, it technically should still be there waiting for pickup because as far as their system knows, it was picked up already, so it wouldn’t be going back to the supplier as a return or into the store. Apparently nobody noticed this or caught this error. They were clueless about their mistake. Never again. To Lowe’s I will go.

This make the 2nd time I came to this place and the same older Black dude in the paint section displayed his nasty behavior to a buying customer. At this point why is he even hired to work in customer service when he has a disgusting demeanor and a rude attitudeto helping customers. Its Clear he Hates his job. This will be my last time wasting my time & money at this shop in dover I rather be treated with RESPECT at Lowe's.

Stopped in here to pickup an online order. The process was so easy. I walked in and asked for the Order Lockers; the customer service person showed me where they were located. All I did was scan the QR code on my phone and the locker door opened as the locker number displayed on the kiosk screen. The store was also clean and organized. It was towards the end of the day, so the place was not crowded.

If you need/ want just about anything required for home improvement, chances are that you can immediately purchase in store, if you can't find it in stock, grab any associate and you will be helped. Parking lot is enormous, enough space for 400+ cars

The Home Depot in Dover has the rudest employees Was there today and the crew in kitchen cabinets didnt even look up from their computers while we were standing there, then only pointed to what we were looking for couldn't get up to show is. The guy in the door and screen department was so rude we told him we would rather figure it out on our own than have his help. A contractor looking for something for himself graciously answered our questions. This isnt the first time employees at this location have been difficult. Steer clear of this location we won't bother going back there again.

According to the Dover store, they don't carry refrigerators in stock. None, just display models. Our refrigerator unexpectedly stopped working. We needed a refrigerator soon, not a week or so from now. Availability information was not available online, so we contacted the store and were told that they don't carry refrigerators. They have to be delivered. Not everybody plans for a new appliance. Sometimes they just break down. We had also tried calling another location multiple times before we called the Dover location, but every time we were transferred to the department no one answered. However the Dover location said all stores were like that now. I don't know if that's true, but we will never consider using Home Depot again. Lowe's will have to have our business now. I just wanted the refrigerator we saw online at Home Depot more, but at least Lowe's has some in stock. BTW, it said online that we would need to visit the store for availability. We live about an hour away from each Home Depot. That means we would have driven an hour only to find out that they didn't carry refrigerators.

Purchased items for project on-line, which was delivered to the store in 3 batches, over 12 days. Not a big concern. However, each successive visit to the customer service desk reached a new low. I was hoping for 1. eye contact 2. a greeting 3. actual service. Left with a disappointing store experience 4 times in a row. Edit: Your auto-response is showing. To fix these problems you would need to work on your systems. Start with a little walk-around management. Perhaps Ed Decker as an undercover boss or secret shopper. Good Luck.

Lighting section is very sad, not much to choose from and every bulb in every fixture flashes at different intervals. Hard to stand in that aisle for more than a few seconds without a headache. Not that you need more than a few seconds with how little selection there is. Had to go to Lowe’s instead.

Pretty bad experience at customer service at around 10am on 3 December 2025. Talked to a Rep “J” she made as little effort as possible to assist me. She couldn’t process the refund due to “system issues” and had me call customer service for assistance. After about 5-minutes on the phone, she calls a customer service rep. After a while, “J” was pretty happy to inform me that I had to take the item back and wait for a carrier to call me to pick up the item. Needless to say I wasn’t happy. I asked why couldn’t the carrier pick it up from the store. She stated, the two didn’t give her that option. Instead of just 1-day process the return and refund in the store, I now have to wait a week for a carrier to pick up the item and another 10-business days for a refund after they pick it up. How does that even make sense?

Picked up an order here yesterday that was heavier than expected. The associate called for a few other team members to help and got it loaded on my truck. All the associates were kind and helpful.

The lady representative went beyond her duty to help me find a flange. She was patient and help me know what I would need. There was a gentleman representative also who lifted the heavy toilet into my truck. Young men are awesome! I appreciated him. Before the purchase one gentlemen and a different Home Depot representative lady helped me, and lifted the heavily packed toilet onto a handcart & made sure I picked the correct toilet for my needs. I'm always happy to go to Home Depot where the staff is much more available, helpful, pleasant, and accommodating than the other store (Lowe's) in my county (Kent County, DE).
