It's a conveniently located pet store if you know what you want and don't require customer service. It takes a while for help in the fish department. Same goes for checking out of the store. My patience is tested with each visit but I keep going back because they usually have what I need. The store is generally clean and put together however the front where you check out is quite cluttered and serves as a holding tank. Nice selection of beta fish. I have found beautiful ones there.

The restrooms at this store were absolutely disgusting. It has been a hot minute since they have been cleaned. They smelled of urine and the toilet, sink, and floor were in dire need of a good cleaning. Clumps of hair in the corners. 🤮 The rest of the store was in good shape and I was able to find everything I was looking for.

We went to look at the ferrets tonight, and grab a travel cage for my cat. They only had one ferret. it was super cute! Anyway my daughter had asked the girl working if she could pet the ferret. She has never held or touched one. I mean that is usually what you do to see if you connect with an animal. The lady said to her “We are not a petting zoo.” We ended up leaving because I can lose my temper pretty easy over incompetent individuals that evidently don’t need to be working at certain places. I could maybe understand if my daughter came at her all rude, because I can’t stand rude people…if you can’t tell. My daughter was very polite when she asked her. Unfortunately I won’t be returning. I refuse to support a business with people who act like that.

We used to come here for all of our fish and fish needs here. It really was the best place in idaho falls to not only get fish supply's, but any animal suff. There tanks uses to be so clean and stocked with a huge variety of quality fish. These last like 10 or 11 months it's just been going completely downhill. We walked in there today to get some loaches to add to our 30 gal tank at home. Needless to say definitely will not be going there anymore as there tanks are so filthy, so many dead fish floating around, the place is a complete mess. There was 3 out of the 4 geckos are dead in there cage as well. Corporate really needs to come fix there branch.

When I was in the store a couple days ago waiting for my dog to be done in the grooming department. I witnessed the new GM Tori yelling at the groomer on the sales floor. Not a very professional person you have running this store. The groomer finally told Tori the GM that she didn’t full comfortable having the conversation on the sales floor. What happens to Travis he was a nice man and ran this store well. If my groomer quits I will NOT to back for and type of services or to buy anything from this store. Petsmart is right down the road and so is tractor supply. They probably treat there employees better then Tori treats everyone here.

Went to the self serve dog wash. They charge $20. The area was filthy. The tub to wash your dog had black mold and other dog hair in it. You could tell the tubs had not been cleaned in a long time. There was dog hair all over the room. They gave me a small rag covered with dog hair to use as a towel. I would say wash your dog in the back yard with a hose before going here.

I completed an order online for in store pick-up. After an hour I went to the store even though I had not received an email saying my order was ready. When I got the store, which was not busy, I told the person at check-out that I was there to pick-up my order. She looked at her phone, proceeded to pick my order and check me out. This process only took about 3 minutes. If it was that easy to pick my order then why after an hour wasn't it ready. The person hadn't even realized they had an order to pick. They were to busy talking to someone they knew. Glad I didn't wait for the email saying it was ready. Who knows when I would have gotten it if at all.

Idaho Falls Petco use to be great, now its filthy and covered in trip hazards. Seems like all the people that made this store great are not there very often. My husband and i use to buy all our animals and supplies there. Last week we were in there to get some saltwater supplies and the lady there was extremely rude and talked to my husband like he didn't know what he was talking about even though he has been in the hobby for 15 years. I think her name was Vernica or something like that. when i asked to see the manager, i wanted to make a complaint but the manager was just as rude. She brushed me off like i was not worth her time. The manager was Toni or Tori. What happened to the old manager. we may have to stop going to Petco if we are going to be treated like this

I have always been a huge fan of Petco. They've always had much affordable prices for reptile care, and I have always found their employees to be professional as well as open to conversation. That applies to this location as well. I visited on November 18th after picking up my crestie from the vet that passed days ago. The crestie was having an autopsy, and so we were taking her back after results since I do skeleton keeping. Of course, that meant I had one less gecko and was already wanting to get another to fill that empty cage that was in my room. Realizing that Petco reopened across the vet I go to, I asked to make a stop since I haven't seen a Petco in a long time. As we enter, immediately there is a Leachie front and center of all the reptiles, and back at home my family and I were literally discussing a Leachie as a new option, even if they do get expensive. Then, the guy who orders the reptiles (I am so sorry I forgot his name) came up and was asking if we needed anything, and we told him our whole situation. He was kind enough to even let me hold the guy as we talked even though it was just a 4 ½ month old baby. Most pet stores I've been to before rarely allow people to hold baby reptiles, especially geckos, so it was nice to see that this guy trusted my former experience and it was super refreshing to feel. We continued to talk and he let us know that we there would be a 50% off all reptiles for Black Friday, and he would give us some time to think since the Leachie was $1,000. My family and I discuss for a bit, and he comes back to check on us to ask if we were interested. We admitted that we were definitely interested although it was just the price, so he offered to give us the half off on that day if we wanted to pay for the Leachie right now. That sealed the deal for us! We put the gecko in a travel container (gecko proceeded to poop everywhere and had to switch travel containers😭) and we paid the $500 as quick as we could hahahah I am so incredibly happy to have a new lil guy and he has been nothing but sweet and chaotic. Still a sweetheart regardless. Welcome to the family Okenite! Update! He's doing wonderful, he's been eating well and has been just a fun little guy to watch. Sometimes he'll whistle and bark throughout the night which is super awesome to catch. Very happy with this little dude, I plan on bringing him back to show staff his size when he gets bigger. ❤️

Visit this location weekly and never leave disappointed. While I have had pleasant experiences at other Petco locations none have came close to the level of service provided at this address. Sara is always ready to help with a smile on her face and seems to genuinely value us as people and customers., and the gentleman in the fish and reptile section is always greeting me with a smile and checking in on our animals. The new manager seems a little standoffish at times and I have noticed her berating her employees a few times in front of customers creating a awkward atmosphere in an otherwise welcoming store. The things that they seem to be getting in trouble for does not warrant the attitude I have noticed during the "talking to's" given to the employee, especially in front of customers. Otherwise the store is clean, animals seem happy, and the almost ALWAYS have what we need.

I was looking for some salt water fish for my aquarium and stopped in because they have a bigger selection than my normal store. They did have quite the selection but after spending some time looking at everything I became quite concerned at the amount of dead in their tanks. Rotting anemone, dead fish and shrimp in pretty much every tank and bristle worms as well. They had some things I was looking for but their tanks sure don’t look healthy. I would think they would take better care and at least remove the dead critters from the tanks. I have no confidence in any fish at this location.

I love this Petco. I have been to 2 other locations however the staff was standoffish and acting like I was bothering them by being there. This location has the friendliest staff. Shout out to Sarah who always has a smile, a kind word and is always happy to help. I will say the new manager does seem to be a bit rude and standoffish but they may just be adjusting.

I want to recognize Tristan Hacking, one of the best employees at Pepco. He consistently goes above and beyond every time I visit. His knowledge of aquariums is incredible—he really knows his stuff, and I always leave with clear, helpful answers to my questions. What truly sets Tristan apart is his kindness. He’s always friendly and patient, and he treats my daughters with such respect and warmth. It’s a relief walking in and seeing he’s working because I know I’ll get great service and reliable guidance. Pepco is lucky to have him, and he absolutely deserves recognition for the excellent work he does. Keep this young man around—employees like him make all the difference!

You have friendly staff. The only thing I can say, is that, there were a lot of dead fish in multiple aquariums, which detoured me not to by the ones I really wanted. I was the one who went and seeked help in a group of workers talking in a circle. So customer service is a number 1 importance in any business. The checkout employee was nice and informed me I saved some money on my purchases, which makes a customer appreciate any discounts.

I just wanted to jump on here and leave a review about the experience that I had with this location. I would like to say that James and Andrew are amazing. They have both went above and beyond to make sure that I received a pet that is the best fit for me. It took some time, but both of them were extremely patient with me and both of them were excited to help me anytime I called in or showed up. I can’t thank you guys enough. I’m extremely excited for my new chameleon that you guys helped me get. You guys are awesome! Thank you so much.

This used to be a good place to go for fish and small pets, but I've noticed the good staff isn't around anymore and the quality has tanked. My recent purchase was a hamster that was unknowingly pregnant. No big deal, except I couldn't rehome the babies and 13 hamsters gets expensive. They told me they would take them back, but when I showed up with them, they turned me away. I called ahead to make sure they knew I was coming. I had to call cooperate to get them to take them back. I got there today to give 6 of the 12 babies back and the manager Sarah was clearly less than thrilled. She is the one that recommended me a week prior to ask petsmart if they'd take them. At the end of the day, they need better staff. If you don't want to deal with pets, maybe don't work at a petstore. Accidents happen, but its the way they handled it. The store manager was great.

My first several experiences at this location were great. I bought a leopard gecko from here in June. My gecko came home with a torn up tail from being bit by the other geckos he was cohabitated with. I chose to overlook this as it could’ve have happened at any location and they gave me a 10% discount. In August, I made the decision to start going to pet-smart as they had more items I needed in stock, and their crickets were usually healthier. I have made a couple trips to Petco since August, and each time I have been more upset with the condition they have chosen to leave their animals in. The smell of the building has gotten much worse, with the most recent trip, someone mentioned the awful smell as they walked in. Usually, I would not be one to make comments on a business for small things that left me unhappy, however this situation was absolutely devastating to see the condition that the leopard geckos were living in. Attached are photos of the poop/pee that was left PILIED in the enclosure. Absolutely disgusting and horrible to even allow an animal to live like that. I know the location has no control about the rules for cohabitating, substrate, or lighting… however what they absolutely have control over is cleaning the enclosures, and it is clear that there is no care for the condition these critters live in. This was heartbreaking to see and Petco will not have my business again. This is embarrassing for the staff and they should know better.

I am not someone who would write a review, let alone a negative one. This used to be the best place to get fish when they first opened. Not anymore! I went in October 17th to purchase some Glofish Danios for my kids tank, and the tank conditions were deplorable. Unfortunately, I did not have my phone with me to take photos but tanks were incredibly dirty, with multiple dead fish floating at the bottom of multiple tanks. 😕 It took 25 minutes to get help from the fish department, I eventually had to have them call over the intercom to get someone over there. I hesitated even buying the fish my kids wanted because half of the live ones in the tank were obviously either starving, or had some form of wasting disease because they were so small and skinny that their heads were bigger than their bodies! Against my better judgement I asked for the fish I came in for, and specifically asked him for the somewhat healthier and bigger danios in the tank. The gentleman instead gave me two of the literal SICKEST and SKINNIEST glo danios in the tank. According to him, he chose those ones because they actively "swam away" from his net when he went to catch them. The bag of water they were in had tons and tons of poop floating in it, and upon getting home I could instantly tell how sick the new fish were compared to our other, very healthy glofish Danios. I treated them with Paraguard and aquarium salt, but they were too far gone. Listlessly floating at the top of the tank, I found the two skinniest ones dead this morning, October 19th. Petco requires you to bring in the dead fish, with a water sample from your tank to get a refund but I live 1.5 hours away and cannot justify traveling that distance to replace them with other sick fish. I know they did not die from anything in my tank, nor from my water parameters. I felt so bad once I got home that I didn't purchase ALL the glo danios because of how disgusting the stores tank was. I'm unable to attach the photos I took this morning of the deceased fish, but they are 1/16th an inch big, while our healthy ones are about 3/16th an inch. They literally looked like a skeleton when compared to our other danios. It's horrible, and I feel bad that they suffered. My kids were very distraught to find the dead ones this morning. I do not think we will be returning to this Petco. I think we'll try Petsmart from now on. 👎

My kids love going to Petco and looking at all the animals! It's also a great place to buy food and toys for my dog. They have pretty much everything you could want for your pets. From food and toys to medicine. I've never bought a pet from here, but the workers always seem to be cleaning the cages and taking care of the animals. They also almost always have rescue cats there that you can adopt. Definitely a visit to buy things for your pets, or if you just have kids that want to look at the animals.
