Most employees are very helpful. However, Menards needs to instruct cashiers to be helpful and keep their line clean if you are handicap or injured as I was, it causes an embarrassing situation. Luckily those behind who had 3 items max were vvery understanding. I had a large order. The bags were not hung on holders and were alk over the floor. She was very surly, never said a word not even the company line or thank you. I had an injured arm making it worse. I will say fast cashier. Has the next order being rung and coming down while I was still waiting on my card being able to remove. As I said the other customers had few items. I would move over apologize for my proximity and hand them bags I tried to pick up. The seemed sorry for my problems had see me picking up bags from floor. She seemed oblivious. Just kept sending more down belt. A nice man told me he had her as cashier before and did the same to him. As I said, I am grateful for the people behind me. As a store in general Menards needs to be aware of people with different needs. I grab a cart in lot usually so use as walker. But the front entrance has the gate and

I’m very disappointed. We rented a truck from this Menards and there was an issue with our product being in stock after they told us it was ready for pickup. We ended up switching to a different color since we already had the truck rented but it took 50 minutes to accomplish all of that so we went to customer service and explained the situation. They wrote on our ticket to take an hour off when we returned the truck since it was not our fault the item wasn’t in stock, it was the stores fault. They charged us the overage anyway. Very shady and unprofessional. I will never rent a truck from here again.

Worst experience ever. Went to 5 different associates (all under 21) and got pointed all around the building. In the wrong direction by the way. They pulled out their phones for direction. I could have and did do that but the aisles were confusing. Crazy how they put them on the floor with no knowledge of product placement. A 20 min trip turned into an hour long trip. Home Depot from now on.

Every time me and my husband have went to this Menards, there's been an issue with the inventory. Went here to get some Pokémon cards because the app said they had 6 of the boxes in stock. When I went in, I couldn't find them, so I asked a lady from Customer Service for help. She and another associate helped me look for 10 minutes before they both just disappeared. I was standing and waiting for them to return with any news for a good 30 mins. They could have told me they couldn't find them, but they just left me there waiting. My husband had a similar issue with the inventory when he went to pick up building materials. They didn't have the items in stock, even though the app said that they did, and the associates who were helping him look just left him. The customer service here really needs work and so does the inventory.

They seem to usually have what I'm looking for. And there are always ppl around to help. Like today in paint section, there was a kid cleaning up a busted bucket of something that had spilled all over the floor...but as soon as he saw me looking around aimlessly he stopped what he was doing to show me what i was looking for. Very helpful and friendly. Just look out for their driver-less floor cleaning machine..he pops outta nowhere!

Menard doesn't care about reputation, they just need to sell something, they sell complete illiquid goods. The glue FUTURE GLUE doesn't work at all, everyone just got dirty with glue😔😔

Been a Very Happy Customer of Joliet Menards for over 20 Years and Ten of Dollars Spent. Today was the worst Customer Service I have ever Experienced. In the Outside Flower are, the male cashier & a female associate both on the their phones while I waited 2 minutes to ask a Question. In the Lumber Yard ( where I hardly go in ) I asked a Young man in his early 20's on how and where I can find one pc lumber ? He replied I'm busy and you have to find some else. In the lumber shed area there was no one to be found for 5 minutes. The young man kept walking around looked Dazed & Confused. Young employees not Trained well or there have no interest in helping.

Came in to warranty exchange my grinder. Exchanged it and continued shopping. At the checkout I showed the cashier my original receipt showing I paid for the grinder. She immediately started giving me a hard time. Her reasoning was that I was not given a new receipt during the exchange. Had to stand and wait for the customer service girl to confirm that I did in fact exchange the tool. They were making it seem like I was trying to steal something. As an honest paying customer it made me very uncomfortable. Last time I go here! Learn how to do your job.

I stop in here at least once a month because the deals are always too good to pass up! The staff is extremely helpful when needed and everything is in order. I even visited the establishment on Black Friday and they were properly staffed, keeping the store clean and tending to customers whenever needed! I would give a 10 out of 10 if I could!

Customer service is selective at this site. I waited by the back desk to order lumber for 5 min. 2 men walked up and went to the other end of the desk, an associate then came back forward to help them. There is no way to know which terminals are open, no one approached me. Maybe 73 yr. old women aren't welcome? I'm going to use the Morris store from now on.

I’ve spent a significant amount of money at this location over the years. To be profiled and watched both at the register and immediately after leaving the store is not only disrespectful, it’s unacceptable. This experience ensures that neither I nor my family will be returning or spending another dollar here again.

No one walks you to anything. Everyone just points and says it’s down there or in the in the automotive section. Well I don’t know where that’s located let alone what I’m actually looking for. No one greets passing customers either. They just look down at their phones and walk right by you. It’s just sad to see this level of customer service.

I generally find shopping at Menards to be a pleasant experience - until they stole from me by selling used goods, poor quality ones at that. Many online reviews rate their customer service poorly. Until now I have not had that experience. I recently bought 3 Patriot brand light strips. One was obviously a customer return. It was dirty and scuffed. In addition, parts were missing from the opened box that were in the two NEW boxes. I appreciate being able to easily return an item. However, returned items should only be sold as distressed or at least open-box. Re-selling used goods is the same as stealing. It is deceitful and immoral. I suspect they prosecute people who steal from them. Menards has proved to be no better than a common thief. I gave two stars only because not all of my experiences have been like this. But once is more than enough!

Our association recently asked us to change our mailbox! Menards in Joliet made it simple and took less than 2 hours total for the entire process on a 90 degree summer day!! We purchased literally 3 items total and installed it all ourselves and we couldn't be happier with the level of service, commitment and cleanliness this store withholds on a daily basis!! We are constant customers and give this location 20 out of 5 stars!!! Kudos to all staff, management and regional management!! We see you!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Came in 12-13-2025 around 830/845 there’s barely anyone in the store. It’s 6 degrees outside, the first department I walk to is paint. I run into 3 associates, 1 helps me out to the T, not sure what his name was but he had fantastic customer service. Next place I needed to visit was lumber, they have an indoor and outdoor sections for lumber but they do not cut lumber indoors like all the other home improvement stores not a big deal but when I got to the lumber yard. I asked where the treated 2x4’s and 2x10’s are and was given general directions on where it was by the associate pointing his fingers from inside the store. Again is it 6 degrees outside. It took 10-15 minutes to find the wood I needed without help it was so cold I had to go back inside and warm myself up for about 15-20 minutes, I had to find another associate to get help on how to use the table saw because they are no instructions at the table saw. I am dealing with frosted, frozen lumber, a table saw with no instructions, 6 degrees and when the associate pages someone he told me to stand next to the saw table, I old him no thanks I’ll wait for them to show face. Gave it 15/20 and walked around to find another employe sweeping and asked him for help, guys name was Wilson, he helped me to measure and cut the wood. Get to the front of the store and talk to the manager only for her to have a very nonchalant attitude. It’s 946pm and I have spent the last hour waiting for service and help for this woman to tell me she’ll get with the department have a talk with them. It would have to be an absolute emergency for me to ever return to this store again. The manager did apologize.
