Outstanding service. Went in to learn about snow blowers as we have recently moved to Idaho. Store manager was great, took the time to explain in detail what is best. Ordered in the model i was interested in, assembled and gave me a lesson... made the purchase and just waiting for the snow... all associates who work there are very friendly and helpful... great place to shop

Visited Dan's Ace Hardware in Idaho Falls to buy 8) Zinc-Plated Universal Clevis Pins and some associated small parts. I was shocked to be charged just over $100 for items weighing under 2lbs. Fell into buyer's remorse, especially when Home Depot offers the same for a fifth of the price. Returned items within 24 hours but was hit with a return fee. Overpricing and unfair return policies make me unlikely to shop there again. One-star rating, as zero isn't an option. Beware before shopping here. I've seen your post. Follow-up: Thank you for your call. I have been told that the clerk was new and the 2 dollar return fee was incorrect. For clarification, I bought 16) Mylar washers 8) Zinc-Plated Universal Clevis Pins four 3/8" and four 1/2", and 8) Hitch Pin clips I don't remember the sizes they fit the clevis pins. for a total of 32 items. I appreciate that you offered me the 2 dollars back as a mistake on the return. I'm still struggling that after I pointed the refund discrepancy out that the refund price was less than the purchase total, he told me it was because there is a "return fee". I live about 5 miles (10 miles round trip) away and I get 14mpg so just driving over and back to get the 2 dollars with today's cost of gas will cost me more than that let alone the 12-minute drive one way will turn out to be 30+ minutes of my time before I return home. At this time I am accepting the loss.

The employees on the floor ignored me, though I did find the item I wanted. The person at checkout was about as uninterested in being courteous, never thanked me, nothing. Won't be back.

I went in with a cylinder head to get some bolts. I matched the threads with what was already on there and grabbed all the bolts I needed out of that same bin without thinking about it. Got home and started assembling everything, and (trusting that the bolts I got out of the same bin were the same) ended up putting a bolt with the wrong thread pitch in one of the holes and ruining it. Partially my fault for not paying attention but I'm still incredibly disappointed.

Recently moved here. Received a coupon in the mail in a welcome to the neighborhood flyer. The check out guy asked for our membership number. When we told him we didn’t have one, he stated we would never have received the coupon if we weren’t members. Then he asked for each of our phone numbers. After he would punch them in he would bellow, “Nope.” He acted like we were trying to pull something with the coupon they mailed to us unsolicited. Went down the street to the competitor and received great service.

I am not the type of person to complain. I have always got my ice melt from them and every time I go in people ask if I would like help out because I get 2 or 3 bags of the 50lbs bags. The last 2 times I have went in the guys working is just standing around and don't even offer to help. Yes they great me when I walk in the door but that's about it. Might be the time to go somewhere else.

I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young female associate, who asked me what I was looking for, and if I knew where to go, she walked me over personally to the outlets and walked me through the GFCI outlets that I was looking for. She then helped me find the electric tool. I was looking for to check my electric capacity on my plugs And asked if there was anything else that she could help me with before I walked up to the checkout register.

Wonderful place, the only issues I had is with a worker named Keith. He was the cashier. His behavior and actions were very out of line and should not pass for any company. He is extremely rude and disrespectful! He was snippy and snarky and mistreating every customer that came into contact with him. I think everyone else is kind and helpful.

I go there all the time...have been for a few years now. Service is great. Always welcoming. Always asking if I need help finding something. Id much rather visit an Ace, over the big box stores. H.D.,Lowe's, Walmart etc. Additionally you can find that odd ball item...like those tiny little machine screws that rattled out of you pocket knife belt clip... I didn't know it at the time, but mine were 2mm....thats small & metric....they had em', or my old lamp that needed the bulb socket replaced, i found one. ACE IS THE PLACE!
