I came here for a car wash and it was a mistake! The credit card machine doesn’t work, so I used cash, and it gave me back the incorrect amount of change IN QUARTERS. Got fleeced $1.50 and didn’t even get a platinum car wash to show for it.

I've been twice. The first time they let my damaged (but still functional!) turn signal slide, but not the second time. They are just fine if a little slow. Don't wait till the end of the month if you want to avoid the lines

Came here for break tag, was barely sprinkling but lady said no break tags in the rain. Came back a second time at 12:54 the lady enthusiastically started showing me with her hands that she is going on lunch break and won’t do any more inspections. Came back at 1 pm (website says lunch break is 12:00-12:30) and hand written sign says be back from lunch at 1:15. How hard is it to get a break tag in this city? Also they don’t even offer 2 year break tags. Been there 3 times now no break tag yet. Hopefully fourth time works

So this is my story, I came to the gas station Today at about 12:00 noon July 8 and I purchased a 2 pack of cigars for $1.00 Mango Flavor. Anyways later on at about 5:00pm I noticed the cigars felt broken inside the wrapper, so I decided to bring them back to Shell to exchanged for another one. Well I told my story to the guy at the registar, how I purchased these earlier and that they felt broken. I asked can I get a new one and he gave me the most nastiest look and told me No. After going back and forth with him I asked can I speak to the Manger or the Owner...at first he said no the manager is not here. Get out. I told him I wasnt leaving and that I wanted to speak to someone higher than him. He finally told me where to go to talk to the manager. When I approached the Manager She automatically looked at me and shook her head No. She told me her story about the cigar, how I broke it and its been 5 hours later...no...no... Okay peole look, My point is.... That was okay, hey...your right its been 5 hours. How do you know if I didn't brake it. She's right. But honestly I didn't. I REALLY DIDN'T. I mean the cigars were only $1.00. The problem was...Both of those worker were Rude. Rude. IT WASN'T appropriate OR RIGHT and It left me with a sour taste in my mouth about stopping there ever again. I don't know if they were both having a bad day? Or what? The guy at the Registar should have politley said, look sorry we can't give you an exchage because the sale was 5 hours ago, if was as soon as you purchased it when you noticed it felt broken, we would have replaced it with a new one. Sorry have a good Day. Instead he gave me this look, and then started yelling at me, saying No, Get Out, No manager etc. Get this Bad Review...Na

EXCELLENT MECHANIC! Doug, the chief mechanic, does great work. It really impresses me that he ALWAYS checks 2-3 aftermarket sources for parts prices and gives me the GM part price and another option. I know a little about vehicle maintenance and I am always satisfied that I'm getting a good, fair price. He also is honest about what needs to be done and what can be deferred. It's hard to find a talented, trustworthy mechanic, and that's what Doug is, to be sure!

Upon arriving the staff was extremely rude and standoffish. When asked how much a routine oil change on an SUV where I had brought in the filter, the mechanic said upwards of $170.00. I have had the oil changed many times before and it has never costed that much. I politely declined, but buyers beware. This neighborhood service station is deceptive and poorly mangaged. While I have no way of knowing if there gas is any good, I would be weary as their business practices in the service realm would indicate they may engage in other acts to defraud their customer. I will no longer even buy a coke there.

Went in today to get a brake tag. Unfortunately Dwight was not able to issue it, but he fully explained the issue and gave me a recommendation of where to get it fixed. He was nice and extremely helpful, so I will definitely be back.

Brake tag guy was condescending and short tempered. He asked for insurance and I showed my digital copy. He wants a paper one and instead of just saying this, he has a complete toddler level tantrum complete with eye rolls and a raised voice. He states, “I may not have a college degree but I’m about to educate you on how this works.” I was nothing but polite to this man, this response was bizarre as I am not even a student at Tulane like he clearly assumed. As he launched into his condescending lecture, I interrupt and ask him to return my registration which he holds out of my reach and attempts to continue his lecture. It took 3 requests for him to return my registration. I don’t know if he had a bad day or what, but in no way did I warrant this level of anger and condescension. I highly doubt he would have spoken so harshly to a man.

If you want to interact with one of the rudest people in the world, head to this Shell service station and ask for Dwight. Whatever's going wrong in his life, he'll be sure to take it out on you during the 15 minutes it takes to get your brake tag. If you've been missing someone yelling at you for no reason, not speaking clearly, and acting as if they're trying to find a reason not to give you your brake tag, this is the place. If you're tired of too many people smiling at you, saying "good morning" and "please" and "thank you," don't worry. Dwight is apparently incapable of speaking those words or behaving like a human being that earns his living working at this joint. He's grumpy, and somehow it's all your fault. This one star rating is well-earned.

On this past Saturday around 9:00, I went to this shell and parked at the gas pump. We had to use the restroom and asked this nice man working outside the shell in the mechanics department. He told us the bathroom was inside so we both entered in hopes to purchase something and use the restroom. The lady working at the cash register told us we were unable to use the restroom. I was appalled and did not understand why when we intended to buy something. We are deeply disappointed in the service provided by this lady inside. We are both black males and believe it had to do with a racial issue on her part and don’t think Shell should support employees who deny customers from using the restroom. Unbelievable!

I came here to do my break tag twice in 2 years and will never come back. The first time, the guy yelled at me for not understanding what he was saying, well how could I understanding him since he kept on mumbling inaudible sounds making no effort at all to communicate with me. The second time, he yelled at me again because my car was dirty. I strongly suggested him to stop being aggressive or I would file a complaint against him, he then calmed down. Totally unprofessional and just really a bad person. Run away. I do not recommend this place.

Find somewhere else to get your break tag. The guy that comes out to do the inspection has absolutely no sense of customer service. He’s rude and impatient with customers. Soft Touch Car Wash on Canal Blvd. is the complete opposite; they’re freindly, professional, and treat their customers well. Go there. Don’t go to Shell on Claiborne.

The man who does the brake tags is a major scammer and extremely shady, rip me off $75. Do not go here for your brake tags! Other than him, the gas station itself is fine and the employees are always super nice and respectful. I really wish they would not have him work there anymore as I do not get my gas there anymore

I came to fill up on gas and decided to get my brake tag done while I was there. The gentleman who came out of the building to do the brake tag was clearly very worked up and was talking angrily and gesturing to a coworker before approaching me. I told him "if it's a bad time, I can come back later." He then proceeds to tell me he is upset with ME because I "chose to get gas before the brake tag so I wouldn't have to wait in line." He said "you could've had a little patience and waited in line while I was out doing brake tags, but as soon as I go in to take my break, THEN you get in line for a break tag." I was shocked. I wasn't paying attention to him or the tag line at all when I pulled in, just going about my business in the order that made sense to me. I did nothing wrong and certainly wasn't deliberately trying to inconvenience HIM. I came to get gas. Figured I'd get a brake tag. He very inappropriately took out his frustrations on me and I thought that was SO unprofessional. I drove away without a brake tag and will not be coming back to this Shell.

Don’t get your inspection done here. 2 years in a row they have given me a failed inspection sticker. Both times for the pettiest issue. I will not be spending any more of my money here. Good luck

I feel fortunate having this station in my neighborhood. I have had 2 flat tires recently. One was easily fixed. The other required that a new tire be ordered. Everything went smoothly. The manager was professional but friendly, efficient and polite. I have also gotten a brake tag there several times and never had any problems.

I came to this station on 09/22/2025 to get a LA brake tag as required by law. Dwight was the attendant to assist me and from the moment I pulled up he was aggressive, demeaning and disrespectful. First he commented on my brakes which were just replaced last week; he told me I was taken advantage of at the Mazda dealership because I am a woman. He asked for my registration and identification and then proceeded to question the validity of my LA Drivers License, saying that the photo was of someone much younger than me. Finally, he began touting his own virility at the age of 61. That was enough for me to leave the premises and never return again. Dwight should not be dealing with the public.

Under our new management, we have a new brake tag. Lady, that That will be doing break tags. The other man that was doing the brake tag has moved on. We invite you to come and get your brake tag from our station and check out our many other products and services that we offer. Thank you, and God bless.

The service at this place is absolutely unacceptable. I went in to get a brake tag inspection for my Tesla Model 3, and the staff member who attended me was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of providing proper service, he made racist comments about me being a Latin immigrant and refused to help me, simply because it was my first time getting the inspection after being here for over a year. I only recently learned I needed this inspection, and I came in with the intention of doing things right. It’s sad and disappointing that in a city as diverse and culturally rich as New Orleans, businesses still allow employees who treat customers this way. No one should experience discrimination or disrespect when trying to get a simple service.

Bernie always handles the service at this station expertly. He’s courtesy and quick. I got my brake tag done here and numerous tire patches over the years. Definitely ask for Bernie if you need service.
