I was on the second floor, and I must say, I’ve never had better, kinder, more attentive care in my life. That says a lot since I’m from Cleveland and used to the Cleveland Clinic. McKenzie, and Jaden were two nurses who really stood out in particular, but everyone was awesome. Both of them need raises.

Was there in 2023 after laminectomy surgery. Was in there overnight facility and not considered inpatient. Terrible experience. Staff was rude and was late with my pain medicine all the time. Once they were an hour and a half late with my pain medicine. They also never offered to order me breakfast. Didn't even know I was allowed to have breakfast. Don't ever go back there. Wish I'd gone home instead

If I could give a 0 I would the way my husband and son were treated was unacceptable as patients that pay you we have the right to choose which hospital we go to being threatened, and intimated is unprofessional. The lack of compassion and understanding blows my mind how these ER doctors and nurses that hate their jobs still have jobs. We need to do better!

Literally ruined my first pregnancy experience. I will never go back, they messed up my epidural on first try Literally felt EVERYTHING. then the nurse who was doing it kept say she can leave and come back when im ready to handle it . While I cryed " I just need a min to recover" then she said she didn't know when she could come back if I didn't do it right now. Like she had better things to do. Now looking back I bet she was just rushing to get it done. Then it doesn't matter how u spell ur new born name. We spelled it correctly 3 time and even double checked to make sure it was right. They still messed up her name like did u even look at the paper when u spelled my babys name. Still dealing with it. Wrong birth certificate. Now wrong name on her ssc even though they HAD her birthday certificate with THE RIGHT spelling. Just completely unacceptable and lack of care. Honestly you are better off going to urgent care then a promedica.

Promedica has horrible financial assistance. You could be on the phone with 3 different employees and get three different answers. Not to mention, you don't have an office for in office help. Has anyone who has ever sought financial assistance from Promedica - the kind you gave to qualify for to lessen your bill- actually received that assistance? They make you fill out an extensive form. So much info. You fill it out, you send it in. And you will probably be rejected for doing something wrong so you correct it, they "help" by telling you exactly right next time, only to be rejected months later. They made it strenuous and as painful as possible, hoping that no one will actually go through the process to actually get assistance. At this point, you're running a scam on people.

Great nurses and doctors in NICU and labor and delivery. The only problem we had was when you ask about babies being tongue or lip tied. They told you no they are not.hmmm. Babies are 2 months old and yes both babies were tongue and lip tied. Pediatrician told us we needed to go to a pediatric dentist. The dentist also confirmed it. One baby was worse than the other.

Let me be clear my surgeon was wonderful . I'm thankful for the procedure that he performed with his team that's as far as the pleasantries go. I stayed in the hospital for 7 days and was treated as if I was less than human . The 7th floor the nurses and aides are very evil and nasty.. They feel as if you have no family, friends, or love ones they will degrate, humiliate and even withhold medication. I had a major surgery at the time. I needed nursing and Medical Care without bias or being made to feel guilty . I was ill it is unfathomable the amount of stress I felt the whole time I was there.... Please do not leave your loved one in this Hospital unattended... Just so I'm clear do not post any pleasantries about how this did not occur . I will proof of everything that happened . This is not a threat in any way , it's a promise

My husband was a patient here on the 8th floor after having back surgery by Dr Patrick Mc Cormick. He received excellent care from the staff on the 8th floor. They were all kind and caring , answering our questions. We would highly recommend this hospital.

I had my first my baby here a little over two weeks ago & my L&D nurses I delivered my baby with were AMAZING, loved them while I had them but when shift changed happened that’s where it took a decline.. the nurse that cleaned me up out of L&D & moved me to Postpartum was very aggressive, rough & rude. She would throw things & supplies on my legs thinking I couldn’t feel it & when I brought it up she said “it’s just the pressure of it she didn’t place them that hard” when we seen her legitimately throw them. The postpartum nurses was great had no issues with them they were great but the NICU nurses where my baby was was who I had a lot of issues with.. I get they have a few patients but on the camera I would watch my baby & she’d be crying for a while unattended, I would call to have someone go in her room & we’d wait on the camera& no one would go for a while but as soon as id start going down to the NICU when I entered where my baby was that’s when I seen a nurse go in and finally tend to her. a few nurses were rough with her & over feed her to where she’d get sick then bypass it saying it was “birth complications”. At one point while doing photo therapy her mask WASNT on her eyes & was covering her nose & mouth & when I called to have someone go fix it no one went in at all & my baby stood crying it wasn’t until her dad ran down & went to go adjust it HIMSELF because her nurse was in watching a surgery. Not to mention I NEVER got a crib card or foot prints for my baby & when I asked about them they offered to do them as we were walking out. My baby also came home with a rash I’m still treating to this day, Overall we didn’t have a good experience with my transition from L&D to PP & her in the NICU stay. I’d ask questions regarding her health & progress & would get beat around the bush until I went in person to speak to the attending nurse or the doctor treating her.

I had a surgical procedure scheduled with interventional radiology at Toledo Hospital. Received a call 1 hour before appointment time stating they did NOT have the equipment to do the procedure. Therefore my surgery got canceled. I had to miss work, stop medications DAYS before the procedure, fasted, only to learn that they were not ready. They did not take the proper steps to avoid this inconvenience.

I came in for a bad throat infection and I was taken great care of by their team of physicians, specialists, and nurses, who made sure my comfort was paramount, and thanks to their due diligence were able to relive me of an intensely painful abscess and I was under their close watch to make sure no undue complications arose from my badly swollen throat. By the time of my discharge I had a care plan in place and follow ups to assess and prevent further issues. I can't be more grateful for the quality of care and bedside manner I received from the team in the observation wing! I would recommend this hospital to everyone!

My fiancé and I got there around 11:30. I came in with severe back pain. Doctors and nurses came in and out, but other than that, they seemed to care more about money than helping me. By 6, all the doctors had left. Then by 6:30, two new doctors came in and told us they couldn’t do the MRI and told me I needed to go to Cleveland Clinic 2 hours away. We spent 7 hours in the emergency room, didn’t get answers, and never got anything for the pain—just to be told to go home and go somewhere else. I thought hospitals were supposed to help their patients, not push them off due to their financial situations. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyone.

I had a procedure today in IR ( Floor 1H) and my experience was nothing less than incredible. From check in, all the way up until I left. Larry ( I believe that was his name) and his colleagues including the IR cracked jokes in the actual procedure room and made me feel at ease. My pain was well managed and they took my care seriously and with compassion. April and Pam were considerate, kind and supportive which I appreciated.

My wife was discharged for home care. She had issues with fluid buildup in lungs requiring regular drainage. Hospital sent us home with one vessel to drain lung in. They said they ordered some to be delivered to home. None have arrived and I have had to beg borrow and steal some. Been 10 days and 5 drainages and no shipment. Out again and when due again this weekend I will be back to ER to get it drained. Incompetence!!!!!!

Sitting in the er as I write this . I brought my wife into the er for stomach pains , vomiting and chest pains after we told the check in nurse about her heart surgery to have her valve replaced exactly a year ago today they still made us wait 2 hours in the waiting room. They did blood work from the waiting room finally they took us to the back and stuck us in the hallway . I finally got a nurse to get her on machines to check her heart . This other nurse named Andra really needs an attitude adjustment she’s so rude and nasty . The way she was cussing and talking about other patients was extremely unprofessional . If this truly wasn’t an emergency I would take my wife anywhere but this place. ***Update it’s been 7 hours and still sitting in the hallway and still listening to all these employees cuss and talk about all these patients it just blows my mind .

I can’t emphasize enough how awesome the nurses were Thursday (11/13) while my son was in outpatient surgery for a colonoscopy with Dr. Horton at 11am. They offered insights into his symptoms & were exceptional in sharing their expertise & knowledge. They conducted their duties with efficiency, care & compassion. I hope their names will be available through my chart documentation so we can commend them for their work to administration. Cathy Raymond

I could never say enough great things. The labor and delivery unit is especially phenomenal. I had my daughter 10/12/2025 and from the moment I arrived every single nurse, midwife, and really any employee of the hospital was hands down amazing. Brittany was my first nurse who took care of me through day shift. I was having trouble with my blood pressure dropping terribly from my epidural and she was right on top of it. What typically would have been a super scary experience, she made so comforting knowing I was in great hands. My evening shift nurse was Jessica/Jess… not only was she super personable and friendly… she was knowledgeable. I had been laboring all day and once she arrived for her shift, she switched my position I was sitting in and I had my daughter in my hands not even 30 minutes later! I had 2-3 other great nurses throughout my stay. As well as the nurses who would come in to check on my baby.. every single one of them was just an all around amazing human being. Thank you for all you do!

Dr. Michael DeVries quite literally saved my life. On January 4, I was rushed to Toledo Hospital by ambulance in critical condition. At just 23 years old, I had no idea I was in septic shock and rapidly deteriorating. Severe fluid buildup in my lower left quadrant caused extensive tissue damage, toxin release, and ultimately shock with organ failure. After a CT scan revealed complete compromise of my lower left quadrant, I met Dr. DeVries. He acted decisively and with exceptional skill, removing the damaged tissue and performing an ileostomy that ultimately saved my life. His calm, confidence, and expertise during one of the most terrifying moments of my life made an immeasurable difference—not just medically, but emotionally. I also want to give special recognition to Dr. Robert Cotterman, who took up my case and played a critical role in my care and recovery. His leadership, commitment, and collaboration with Dr. DeVries ensured I received the highest level of treatment during a truly life-threatening situation. I spent approximately three and a half weeks in the ICU and step-down care in Gen 2 Acute, and I am forever grateful to this entire team. The Gen 2 Acute nurses, care manager, physical therapist, and occupational therapist were phenomenal—compassionate, attentive, and truly dedicated to patient care. Because of Dr. DeVries, Dr. Cotterman, and the outstanding Gen 2 Acute team, I am alive and healing today. I will never forget what they did for me. Thank you for giving me a second chance at life.

2-20 thru 2-22-26. My daughter was taken by ambulance to ER. She was in the hallway in ER for hours. Eventually she was moved to Observation and had surgery. The nursing staff/CNA/kitchen staff were incredible people. Very nice and caring. The housekeeping was nonexistent. Just gross. I had to empty the trash that stunk and had commode waste in it. It was almost full when I did. Also fruit flies in the room. Floor was gross. Food crumbs on the floor. Not once did anyone from housekeeping come in this room. Disgusting and disgraceful for a hospital. That's how staph and strep will run rampant through a place like this.

My boyfriend came to the Toledo Hospital last night and He had the most awesome nurse, his name was Ryan (he was in building C first). Now my boyfriend is in I.C.U. A. I'm writing this now, because I'm not sure how things will turn out. The employees are very efficient and really nice people. It's very clean and as comfortable as they could make it. Thank you Promedica Toledo Hospital.
