Slow customer service, sorry I can't help you I'm on break. Stuff not ringing up at the sale price. Hate having to watch the prices very closely, the computers really suck to, had to hit skip bagging after every item. But they've got some good deals so I go anyway, and I suppose you can't blame the employees they're terribly underpaid

Can't really complain about the store. Nice people, good selections, always something on sale. The customer base seems shady at some times though. Also their entrance and exit doors are backward.

Placed an order for fried chicken within their required time frame to provide lunch for a meeting. Was sent a confirmation that order would be ready at time requested. Got to store to pick up said order (large order as well) and it wasn't even started! Was told that it would take at least 45 minutes to fulfill, but time did not allow it. Was given the lame excuse that so and so was off the day before, didn't get the order, etc ...finger pointing instead of ownership at dropping the ball - all without apology. Should have gone with my gut instinct and went somewhere else to begin with. Lessons learned....will not be doing business there againđĄ

I grew up in this neighborhood. All of the employees, except for the guys doing construction outside, are nice. I guess somebody owed the manager a favor, so they just hired his unprofessional behaving self. This is my neighborhood, born and raised, and nobody will keep trying to make it uncomfortable for me to shop there...and keep getting away with it. I tried to make a complaint twice on those construction guys, but the manager either runs from me or threatens to call the police on me...but why? Is the customer wrong these days? He's run that location to the ground. I can't wait to talk to his DM.

Pharmacy is far from ran properly. Several times doc has called in scripts and they are not ready in a timely manner and you STILL have to wait in the store. What's the point of having them called in ahead of time? Pharmacy techs seem untrained and not educated in the job they are doing. Chaos and confusion seem to dominate behind the counter.

I am changing my review. In the last few month the store has gone really down hill. A few weeks ago when the temps outside were above 90° the store didn't have the AC on for well over a week. The produce was rotting in the fresh fruit section and fresh veg section amd there was so many bugs flies and gnats. And even still it smells so bad of mold there by the potatoes its enough to take your breath away. The meat case has a horrendous rotten smell now by the chicken. The milk case has a bad smell now too. The new store manager doesnt seem to care about cleaning like the old one did. Its getting kinda nasty. I am worried the store will end up getting closed down because of his horrible oversights in cleanliness. Before customer service was always opened now its closed several days a week. Ive gotten big cuts of beef that cost over 20$ that have been bad when I open them to cook them but didnt look rotten but smell so bad when I opened the package. Also Ive bought baked goods that have been moldy when I open it. This never was an issue under the other mans watch. I dont know the new manager but its obvious someone new has taken over and he doesnt have the same values as the previous store manager. That smell in the fruit and veg department makes you almost sick. I'm worried the store will end up closed down if this keeps up. Please please address this issue District management. Our community needs this store. I love shopping there but I'm close to going to a new location and that makes me feel so sad.

My complaint isn't about a particular store. My complaint is about your website. It is NOT user friendly! It is too hard to get to the weekly ad. Customer should not have to login to be able to read the ads

Kind of outdated but nice people here. I come here for the Big K soda pop but lately they don't stock the shelves and there's no variety in this particular store. I'll have to go to the one in Mishawaka.

Their produce manager is very kind and always helps me get cases of the items I need. However, I am knocking off two stars due to their cashiers. I prefer self check out just because their attitude is TERRIBLE. The other day the cashier was really rude and ignored when I would speak to her. She even tried to overcharge me on lettuce. Seriously I love Kroger, their deals are awesome. I'll just stick with self check out from now on. I will admit they treat you how they see you. When I go in all dressed up they're nice, but if I go while doing chores or my hairs up in a bun and no make up they are always so flippant towards me.

The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to assist me with finding some items. I was surprised that even the lady who was bringing in the carts said "Hello and have a nice day".

I turned in several lottery scratch offs worth $32. The cashier at the customer service desk told me they were only worth $22. I explained they were worth $32. She stated I scanned them and it's only $22. When I called customer service and complained I was cheated and their employee stole from me and I was reporting it to corporate she stated there's nothing I can do about it and I doubt someone will lose their job over $10. They do not care that their employees steal from you. AVOID THIS LOCATION!!!!

I will not ever step around any Kroger after it's getting dark They have no security measures and no one tomhelp you. They are more then ok with single mothers buying dinner for kids while being followed around they're store. Also while waiting for prescriptions for herself and child. Ridiculous everywhere but should not be where we are supposed to feel safe. Obviously I wasn't there to do harm but made to endure it so they're automatic systems can play and people can watch their phones. Even supposed guard the door or help is ridiculous. Wake up employers are going to have to take some accountability for their own supermarket chains. And the supposed SBPD light show in the parking lot isn't for customer safety. It's to try to chase down anything that could happen at the store they want you to spend your money at. Keep on America make Americans not able to help each other over communication issues. that's not how it works. This whole area has went in flames since you cannot even walk down the street. People ways want to be part of a problem and not a solution.. as long as their day isn't troubled đ sad world we live in and even sadder when someone actually asks and need help is ignored and given the runaround. Help isn't free either, just like all this freedom people have no clue to be able to stand on their own most of the time.wake up and pay attention to what's going on around you!

I live on the opposite side of South Bend from the Kroger store on Western Avenue, but today was my second time to shop here this month. I will make it a point to return when I am in the area. The employees that I interacted with were pleasant and helpful. The store is smaller than the Kroger in Plymouth where my sister shops, but I found it to be well stocked. I bought several different produce items and was particularly impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the produce section.

I just want to thank Steve Jaworski for being such a friendly, polite and helpful employee! He is the reason that customers love your store and keep coming back. And he even speaks Spanish! đđđđđ

Don't come here if all you got is tap pay. Try to use my phone to pay for my groceries and it blacked out two of the pin pads. Had to go out to get my car and then when I came back the lady had the gall to ask if there was a virus on my phone.

Would rather not do my grocery shopping at a store that has security constantly staring you down at checkout. Do you guys not understand why you have cameras? You need a security guy, a self checkout associate, cameras, police, and itâs still not enough? Fix your management. All over Detroit there isnât this much security. Honestly, whoever decided to put security in front to watch people checkout, just quit your job. Youâve made me never want to go back to this Kroger. Youâll continue losing business if you guys keep doing this kinda stuff. The self checkouts cameras are enough.

Just bought these mandarin oranges at Kroger Western Ave. Box started falling apart when putting in my truck. Went straight back in and the Manager said it came from the warehouse like that. Now I would guess they just don't check or rotate their stock. But ok came from warehouse like that. Even worse, so look out more to come if that is what warehouse gives them. Been coming here since I was a kid they just don't care no more. Quit wasting our time and please for everyone's health please close your doors. P.S. their lettuce and tomatoes didn't look much better. I personally will never be to this store again. No more neighborhood Krogers for me.

Always out of Pepsi cases when on sale. How is it you only have 2 rows reserved for pepsi cases?? Whenever 12 packs are on sale there's also a display pallet somewhat in the store loaded with 12 packs besides the ones in the dedicated space. This has NEVER HAPPENED 1 time for cases. And it makes no sense. Why should someone have to pay more than double because you refuse to make room in your store for SALE ITEMS! Never happens on Ireland rd or at Town and Country. But Western ave is out every single time. You just don't care about your customers and their already slim budgets. Whoever is in charge needs to pay more attention to what and how things are stocked. Worst Kroger anywhere. Don't waste your time coming here.

4 stars because I have only ever had great customer service here at this location which is a bit surprising due to it being in "the ghetto" aka the west side of South Bend. The store itself is perfectly fine, clean, well-lit, well stocked, and they've been making a push these past months (as of Feb 2017) to push and promote and -most crucially- actually stock and have local and organic/non-gmo, healthy and REAL food. But other than its sketchy location it's a completely normal and acceptable store with everything you'd expect from a national chain store, including a gas station + mini convenient store setup right off the road facing Western Ave/SR 2.
