Im extremely critical of our local car washes so for me to give one a 5 star rating is rare but Colonial near The Casino deserves it. I live in Colonie but work at GE so after work somedays Ill use this self serve car wash and only this one. The biggest thing for me is the credit card swiper. The only one in the region i might add. This allows you to wash uninterrupted. Coins are so archaic, dirty and clumsy to use when in the midst of a car wash. The self serve bays are always in great working order. Its clean and well kept. I will continue to use Colonial for as long as i live in the Cap region. As for the touch free, Ive never used it here because i don’t think anyone can beat the value of Hoffman’s touch free car washes on central ave in Colonie. $9 for the ultimate wash when u buy 3 at a time on a card.

I used the auto wash lane. once with compact and once with my suv. Loved the fact that the arm moves around the vehicle and sprays whatever it sprays. I used the 10 and 12 bucks options. does a good job. i noticed that in the back, even around the license plate area, there was no stain. the sprayer arm goes around the car covering each and every corner of the car without touching it. Now the other traditional automatic washes never clean the back properly. recommended... Location: the one next to union college

Went into the first do-it-yourself bay, next to the (closed) office. The machine took some quarters, but didn't register them for time, so I ended up paying for more than advertised. The spray nozzle pressure was so high it shot out of the holder, whipped around hitting, and then going under, my car (and spraying me in the process) as I turned the selector knob to it. The Air Dryer option had little in the way of air flow, and barely moved the water droplets from the windows. Probably would be alright for a quick spray down, but I'll try somewhere else the next time I need to get construction site dust/dirt washed off.

I went there to vacuum my car. Inserted coins just to see the red hose was disconnected. Tried to put it back in and it didn't work. Tried the blue hose which wasn't the one I needed and it had no pressure. Not a big deal, I lost 1USD, but will not return for sure.

Terrible. Worst car wash I have ever used. Paid for basic touch free auto wash, drove forward until sign directed me to stop, foam drizzled out of machine arm, no water touched my car. After 1 minute, door opened, no sign illuminated saying to leave but no activity on car wash system so I just left.

I never write reviews but I am so annoyed I felt like it would be good information for someone looking to use this wash. This is the Second time I've tried to go to this wash and the second time it took payment and I was unable to get into the wash. Same thing happened to the person next to me that day during my second wash. The first time I was issued a full refund with no issue. This time I have been going back and forth with the service rep since the 11th who I emailed as soon as this happened... and for some reason they will not refund me but say they will send me free car washes I still have not received and, frankly, am not interested in using their car washes from here on out. I've given up on trying to get my money back, which is extremely frustrating. I highly recommend the Spritz car wash if you want a great touchless car wash OR touch.

***UPDATE BELOW*** Spent $5 for the 8:20 minute self wash and the machine cut out on me 30 seconds in. No one is ever around to refer problems to. It was mid 40 degree weather day so the foam gun and brush should have been more than fine to work. Of course neither of them were functional. Absolute waste of time and money. ***** After about only 2-3 days, a customer satisfaction representative responded to a complaint form that I had left at this location. After listening to my complaint they assured me I would be reimbursed in the form of car wash vouchers. I recently recieved those vouchers today. While I’m still disappointed with my initial experience I applaud the timeliness and urgency that the Colonial representative took to respond. Hopefully the machines are in working order. I have recieved my free car wash vouchers and will consider giving colonial my business again.

Brought my car to Nott Street location to wash. The fact that it has a $2/2 minute base fee and necessitates continued feeding in increments of $2 in order to wash the car is a ripoff and an inefficient means to wash a car. I drove away with a car not fully clean or rinsed. I normally wash my car at HY Speed on upper Union street and I am able to wash and rinse my car for $3. Will never use this facility again and urge others to abandon it. I attempted to get change from the change machine. I put a dollar bill in and did not receive a token. I left a note and placed it in the provided mail box. I have not heard from them in over 3 weeks. What’s up with that? The location is unmanned so if there is a problem you’re on your own.

Self service bays for the most part are pretty decent, probably some of the better ones in the area. If the equipment and pricing was competitive the their tunnel wash would be all right. Unfortunately I think Hoffman's and Spritz are better for that if you don't want to put in manual work.

Convenient location, but nothing else positive can be said. The vacuums don't work, other than to eat your coins, and the manual car wash no longer dispenses soap, so it is strictly a hot water rinse. I'll have to find another car wash to go to, and so should you.

Everything seems to always be in disrepair here and it's kind of atrocious, especially since they make more than enough money, especially with the vacuums to make sure their equipment is up and running properly. Spending three times more than I needed to, to vacuum my car when the vacuums themselves don't work properly is kind of ridiculous. I won't be coming back. I will go out of my way and find another place that actually has working equipment even if I have to drive. And this sucks because this place was down the road from my house. But I'm not going to give money to a company who won't keep their equipment fixed.

I've frequented this car wash many times without issue. I use the self serve- $10 for 22 minutes- gives you plenty of time to wash up the car. Great experience every time. I have never used the vacuum so I cannot speak of their worth.

I came here right after trying the Carman Car Wash out of convenience and necessity. Read my review of that place, and don't every try to use it. I maintained this place 25 years ago, and it's as professional of an operation as it was then and the once in a while I come here over the years. The bays are clean and work properly, very good spray gun pressure, maintained hoses without leaks, and very effective chemicals. This has always been a place I can trust to be the best self-serve bays in the area.

I cannot even tell you enough about this was the most incredible car wash we’ve ever been to. I’m tired of the touch free car washes. They’re supposedly better for your cars because this car wash was like the length of a house and I’m sick of going to a car wash. That’s only the size of the garage the car that’s absolutely beautiful for a week after going through this insanely perfect car wash I’m only googling colonial car wash for now on besides the fact that I videotape my little tiny dog who is so excited to go through this look like a video game light it up fun house that he loves

Come here all the time and I think it’s ridiculous that you get 1$ for 1 minute that’s a waste of peoples money tbh the old deal was better you got 8 plus mins for 5$ which was wayyyy better put prices back the same … just because you put new machines and rubber on hoses doesn’t mean you jack up the price the carwash alone isn’t that pleasant as it is …. Fix vacuums also they take your money without even working half the time
