I recently worked with Ryan at Carousel Pre-Owned in Iowa City, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Ryan was extremely responsive and patient throughout the entire process. From answering all my questions online to walking me through their financing options step-by-step, he made everything so easy and stress-free. It’s clear that customer service is a top priority at Carousel, and Ryan went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable with my purchase. Came in to buy a car and brought my friend, who is a mechanic, with me to help make sure I didn't end up getting ripped off and that I found a safe and reliable vehicle. Right off the bat, my friend told me the "game" dealerships play. My friend warned me that they would make us wait for a half an hour (which happened) and then when we told them which vehicles we were interested in, our #1 choice wouldn't be available for the loan. Sure enough this happened too. The vehicles we looked at all had issues (yes, I understand these are pre-owned and not perfect) from broken taillight to chunks of rubber coming off the tire on an AWD vehicle. These were all fixable problems but what completely turned me off of this company is the way they treated my friend and I as we tried to protect me from getting screwed over. Both salesmen that we dealt with (Jordan and the General Manager) gave us much attitude right off the bat. Jordan did apologize but then got testy again as my friend pointed out issues that needed to be fixed before we agreed to buy the vehicle. We were completely ready to sign and buy the car when the GM came out and started talking to us. When the GM asked my friend whether he thought they were trying to screw me over, my friend answered "well not you personally but I do think the corporation that owns this would." The GM completely loose it on my friend and starts screaming at him because they were being forced to stay and hour and a half after close to close this deal (keep in mind, the original salesman kept us waiting for over a half an hour when we got there). The way this man screamed at my friend, well I was not okay with this and I decided I was not going to give them a dime of my money. When I finally stood up to walk out, the GM literally follows us out to our vehicles still screaming mad because we decided not to go through them. Then he tries to insult me about lying about how much I made when my current paystub didn't reflect a normal pay period for me (lots of kids in my business for the flu and were out sick so I didn't get as many hours in). Needless to say, I was terrified as I tried to leave the property. I have never seen a company act like this and I shouldn't be leaving terrified that I'm going to be attacked by a man because I won't buy his car! I was in an abusive marriage for 16 years and suffer from PTSD. I was so terrified, I couldn't find the exit to leave the parking lot! This place is soooo unprofessional! No one should ever go into a dealership parking lot and have their PTSD triggered by the sales staff and the GM! Update: The following week, I went to Dan Deery in Cedar Falls. Absolutely the best service possible. I wasn't yelled at or made to feel that I was being bullied. They found me a 2017 Nissan Rogue for a much cheaper price, less miles, and in a lot better condition. They were completely upfront about their pricing (no added $1000 "bank fees" to the loan price), they gave me my trade-in at a fair cost, and never once did they yell or make my friend and I feel bullied or accosted. Bottom line, the General Manager of this company is dishonest (even in his reply, he misrepresented what actually happened), shady as heck, and a bully. This is NOT the place to do business.

Purchased a 2017 Cadillac CT6. Paid 3500$ for their service contract, and immediately had to have transmission work done, an alignment, came with no tire pressure sensors, had broken stuff inside that was fixed enough to last until I left, and they didn’t fill it with gas like they said they would, and I’ve had nothing but issues trying to fix these problems. It didn’t even come with the original FOB, but came with a 3rd party where I can’t even use the remote start. They’re denying all the work at the dealership, and I can’t even use the features my vehicle comes with. All this and I put 9900 down. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

We needed a secondary work vehicle that ran and drive and looked decent for the lowest cost possible. Carousel was swift to answer online, and offered a fair price. The sales process was quick, and Tre was a pleasant and cool salesman. While we are sure this car provided the lowest possible commission for a car salesman, he did not hesitate to spend a couple of hours with us to set us up with a vehicle under $1,000. Thank you for the great deal.

First time solo car purchase with help from Felton. He made the process easy, was very personable, and helped answer my questions. I learned that I need to work on my negotiating skills with trading in my car, but very happy with the car I walked away with. I do wish that I was able to walk away with all the features in the car working and a spare set of keys. Update: I was never reached out to again regarding the keys and couldn’t get ahold of the individual after the car was sold. So when I stopped by the location they had no idea what I was talking about.

I purchased a car from Braden a couple months ago, and he did an excellent job of finding the perfect one to fit my needs in a vehicle. He was great to work with and provided several options within my price range, as well as selling me a car with no issues since purchase. Braden helped with paperwork and made sure that I understood what I was signing, which made this experience so much easier! After signing the paperwork, he made sure the car was clean and ready to go, switched my license plates over to my new vehicle, and even followed up with me after purchasing my vehicle to make sure I was satisfied with my car. Had never purchased from Carousel Preowned before. I found a vehicle online that I wanted to look at, and when I got there the car was great, except for the hail damage. They fixed the hail damage and it turned out to look like a brand new vehicle. I would not go here. They don’t keep their promises John the head person is rude and a jerk they promised to fix the side of my mom‘s truck, but it’s been games after games of not getting it fixed. My brother brought it in when they told her to bring it in the guy that was supposed to fix. It said he can’t do it. Her name is not on the books, I’ve talked to John before he acted like he didn’t know what was going on my last review. I had to take down because he ended up calling my mom and snapping at her and said he’ll fix it. Told my mom in two weeks but then lied and said no I told you in a week I called and talk to him. He’s a real jerk, rude, a big bully and a liar. He said that your mom has missed four appointments. No she hasn’t because I’ve been the one dealing with all this and calling because they won’t return her calls. I thought John would’ve been a great guy because my aunt Lyndsey knows him, but I was wrong so then he said I’ll send her $200 To do it herself or she can do whatever $200 will not cover the fixing. He said he doesn’t wanna make another appointment because the guy lives in Columbus Junction, which is not that far away. I would not trust anybody going there. John should not even be working there he can’t sit there and be professional and keep his promise. Then that should not be his line of work. All because he is a guy does not give him the rights to be rude to women and rip them off women know what they talk about to

Had a great experience with upgrading my 2013 Ford Escape to a 2022 Escape! Matt was an amazing salesman and was not pushy at all and showed all the different features it had as well as took it for a test drive. The process was fast and smooth and I was able to come home with the vehicle the same day! TJ was also amazing with all the finances and had a very good attitude which made the purchasing process all the better too! Matt told me even after buying the car if any questions are concerns pop up to reach out to him and we would get it figured out which was also amazing as it gave me more reassurance with the purchase! What can I say, it was an remarkable experience! I came in on Saturday the 10th of May after my 1998 Ford Ranger had broke down. I had poured quite a bit of money into the truck, and after months of research, and friends telling me of Carousel Preowned, I finally pulled the plug and rode my ebike there to see their selection. Boy was I impressed, when I arrived the owner met me with a respectful smile, I told him right off the bat I was looking for a newer vehicle along with my situation and he replied "well, we do sell vehicles!". It was fun and inviting. Immediately they got me hooked up with a Lewey Mac and we kicked it off from there. I told Lewey what I was looking for, he listened. Told him my budget range, and again he listened. Usually I'm hesitant on salespersons, but this experience did not disappoint. He walked me through the process, and made the whole experience worthwhile. Once outside, after talking about my adventurous lifestyle, what vehicles I like, and what I do not care for, he did not hesitate and led me to the wonderful 2017 Subaru Outback. Taking it on a test drive the same day, I was impressed, and the level of detailing, cleanliness, and quality of the vehicle did not disappoint! Additionally, he let me look under the hood, inspect the car, answered all my questions, and made the experience engaging. That's great sales right there. Didn't even need to look at another vehicle after we came back. With a great price, excellent service, and getting paperwork finalized, I am now the proud owner of a 2017 Subaru Outback! The whole experience was remarkable. I felt invited, understood, listen too, and engaged by not just Lewey, but everyone there. The level of hospitality was on another level. I highly recommend Carousel Preowned! After driving away, I've never felt more confident in a vehicle purchase in my life! Thank you to everyone there who made my first real car buying experience a blessing.
