I will say, the machines work really well but this place needs new staff and management. I get it, you have one of the worst jobs ever, but please stop taking it out on us. I feel it's unfair for other reviews to comment on the homeless people and use it against this bottle drop. There is only one place for them to go and they have just as much of a right as anyone to turn in cans and bottles. Get over it and check yourself before you wreck yourself. And yes, the membership is a scam. You will have more money and less stress if you just get in line.

The wait was not bad, I was expecting way worse, but don't be in a rush, give yourself time. Even if you have a green bags, multiple people show up within minutes of each other and fill up the green bag bin, which you will have to wait at the doors until they are able to let you in (about 5 minutes). The manager is always a little blunt, "unfriendly", but he is doing his job while having to deal with these covid restrictions, can limits, and rude people. The staff seems happy and they seem to stick around. To deal with the wait, I bring headphones and listen to music. And yes there are "homeless" people who talk with each other and leave you alone unless you treat them like filth or give them a disgusted look. They are also people and just because you are uncomfortable with the situation doesn't mean it is unsafe.

The customer service in this establishment is nearly non existent. One day they might not be too bad the next day it's the complete opposite. More employees on the site then customers. Had more than 50 smashed cans for the hand count. Employee stopped at 50 and made me remove the other 10 from the sink. Again there is nobody else waiting for hand count and three people using the self count machines. Then told if I didn't like it to take my business to Redmond or Klamath Falls, really.

It's sad to see so meny bot accounts give this places 5 stars. They threatened me with arrest by calling the cops because they thought I went over the 35 dollar limit. I'll be throwing my recycling in the trash for now on. At least I know I will never get threatened with arrest that way.

This place is really awesome for making the process of taking in your bottles/cans extremely smooth. All the negative reviews I don’t agree with, it’s a place for those less fortunate to be able to make some money and I’m never bothered by the homeless people in the area. The customer service is really good and other than occasional broken machines, I usually don’t spend over 30 minutes in here. I went around 9am and there was barely anyone there. Went at 4pm and the lines are semi long. Bring some gloves! Makes it much easier and cleaner!

Cash machine is down and you cannot cash your tickets at another location. They will initial your tickets but when I called their customer service they could not say how long I have to r deem the tickets. I live 2 1/2 hours away and was not going to bring my bottles back home or drive out of my way to go to another bottle drop. And you can’t call a local center to see if they would cash the tickets.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lock your car doors if you go inside and definitely don't go there at night.

We really are in need of a second location. The last 3 times the lines to get inside or the lines for customer service are 10+ people. The lines to drop off the green bags are always 2+. The green bags are convenient only if there is room in the drop box for them. You have a great idea, now you just need upkeep and a second location. :) The location has slightly improved

This review is specific to the Bottle Drop location at the Bend Fred Meyer. I've attempted to drop my cans at this location twice now without success. The first time, the drop box was out of order. The second time, the machine was actually working but, when I opened it, there was such a backup of bags that I couldn't have fit another single can in it. I've wasted my time and gas twice now. Going forward, these cans may just have to go to the landfill.

Went there today and they where painting the strip in the parking. Had to park my car on the street. went to get a bin for my heavy bottle to load from my can and they freaked out. Took the bin from me and told me to come back tomorrow. Not very happy with their helpfulness…

They're usually pretty cool about letting you cash your cans. And most of the time they'll give you until the last minute to cash in what you have. Which I greatly appreciate. Cause you can get at least 5$ cashed in a few minutes if your cans are clean and ready. Not this day when its going to get down to 21° and a few dollars could've really helped out. Shut down on me at 5:55pm. NOT COOL. STAY OPEN LATER EVEN IF ITS FOR A 30MIN THAT CAN MAKE A Substantial DIFFERENCE FOR SOMEONE. could get them the last bit they needed for a motel or whatever it is. Those last minutes are a game changer. Please stay open a little bit longer. HIT LIKE IF YOU AGREE

My least favorite chore is going to the grimey Bend Bottle Drop. They have now made it more difficult by not allowing people to take the bottle carts out to their cars. I redeem mostly glass bottles & they are too heavy for me to carry into the building. Finally, after consulting with 3 different people, someone escorted me to my car with the cart. I would love to see the bottle bill repealed!

I have been going to this location for 7 years without any problems. The over weight "security"guard is constantly harassing me and taking pictures of my license plate, giving me menacing stares and invading my business, even going as far to follow me off property and call me a dog for walking across the street to use the bathroom then following me to my truck taunting me in attempt to cause violence. The employees are rude and treat people like animals, literally. The security was trying to provoke me into a fight by taunting me. Very professional.

To preface I have never had any issues with dropping off bags and getting cash prior to my visit today. The staff is generally pleasant to interact with. HOWEVER today as I was on my way out of town for a cross country move, I stopped in the 2nd Street location to cash out my remaining balance of roughly $60. There were maybe 4 cars in the parking lot and I had a small 4x8 UHaul trailer. I pulled in where I wasn't blocking any spots or cars to run in quickly, grab my cash voucher and get my cash and was immediately berated by the dark haired heavier set security officer for "blocking the entire parking lot, where he's had several accidents already today and not allowing customers to park". I said I'm just grabbing my cash and would be on my way very quickly (my father was still in the truck with it running). He said I needed to move my truck, which I then went out to move up to some spots that were blocked off by cones, again not preventing anyone from pulling through and not parking any cars in. He came out and yelled at me again and "kicked me off the property". I pulled out of the parking lot and parked on the street 2 blocks away and walked back in to cash my voucher. As soon as I stepped foot in again he berated me and threatened to calls the cops stating I was not allowed on the property. Not trying to cause a scene and delay my cross country trip any more, I walked back to my truck only to realize my voucher is only good for today and only at that location. I was planning to go to a different location to grab my cash and be on my way. So now I'm out the cash, but what bothers me the most is how RUDE and power tripping the security officer was to me. Absolutely unnecessary. The lady working the front desk gave me a look of embarrassment for him and could tell she felt uncomfortable with the situation. I will be contacting customer service to see how they can assist in getting this resolved.

Never have I been treated so horribly! I'm deaf in my right ear so I have difficulty hearing, especially when there's a lot of background noise. So when I didn't hear the guy say to cash out, even though I had just pushed the button for my receipt and was picking up the cans I had dropped, he came and stood unnecessarily close and just watched me. He made me feel super uncomfortable. I realized I probably hadn't heard him say something, apologized, and explained I have a hard time hearing but regardless he didn't need to stand over me like that. Seeing how uncomfortable the guy made me my boyfriend told him he needed to back away from me which caused the dude to get loud and verbally abusive towards both of us then proceeded to ban us for 30 days. I get his job can be stressful and he probably just wanted to go home but that doesn't excuse his behavior.

I’ve had to call customer service a few times now because most of the staff here is incredibly rude. Watch out for their security guard, the tall, blonde-hair guy as well as the slim, tall black guy. On a couple of occasions the three of them have harassed me and came ”after me” to be intimidating which, by the way, is against their Customer Code of Conduct. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect from a company. Also, they are adamant on closing their doors at 6pm or sooner and if you even try to ask for more time or until 6pm, be ready to be kicked out and/or have the cops called on you. The security guard punched my receipt ticket at 5:53pm on the machine I was using to get me to leave. I wish we had more options of returning cans like the good ol’ days at the grocery stores…. Honestly, if I didn’t have to, I would never step foot in this building again.

The level of disrespect is insane. I haven’t been to drop off my bottles in a white, and upon entering it was dirty, none of the machines worked, and was met with an incredible amount of disrespect and rudeness from an employee when I tried to grab a cart to load up bags of bottles I could not lift out of the car myself. The employee stopped me as I exited into the parking lot and said there are signs everywhere saying I couldn’t remove the carts, but the signs only stated that they were for indoor customers. He then proceeded to quite rudely ask “how’d I get the bottles in the car then?,” to which I responded that I had help loading them in. What is the point of the carts if I cannot use them to help transport them from my car to the indoor building where then I would be an “indoor customer.” I understand that they get stolen and such but how is that my fault and then if that’s the case and they are essentially pointless then they should remove them all together. Horrible experience and would avoid at all costs.

Had to visit to find out how it operates. They have machines like in Michigan, not redeeming by weight such as in California. Barcodes facing upwards helps save a second or two per container The machine gives a ticket that you then take to another machine that gives you cash. Up to 50 squashed aluminum cans can be taken to the customer service counter for manual handling. Best way to squashed a can is to have the barcode facing down and then just push in the middle once. It leaves the barcode intact and you can straighten the can enough to be read by the machine if need be but it makes more space in your bag
