If you've got a few minutes, let me tell you exactly how smart, persistent, and fair these guys are. My Gen 4 Prius was very gradually losing coolant. No sign of leaks that I could see, but my regular shop replaced the reservoir, thinking it was the problem. NOPE! It kept very gradually losing coolant. (I'd contributed to their misdiagnosis, I realized later, because I had spilled some coolant around the reservoir when I was refilling it.) They looked at it again but were stumped, so I escalated to the experts at Arbor Motion. There, a pressure test revealed that the NEW reservoir had been damaged in shipment or installation and was leaking from a nipple that's not used in US models. They replaced the reservoir again, and I took the damaged one back to my regular shop to let them know about the error. Unfortunate but educational, right? NOPE AGAIN! Coolant kept disappearing! Back to Arbor Motion, where this time it passed a pressure test, but as they ran it they realized they could smell coolant in the exhaust. UH OH! Looked like a head gasket. I told Chuck to go ahead and order the parts. But when they came in and Isaac opened up the engine, Chuck reported, he saw signs of a small oil leak, but no coolant leak! WHAT?? I don't know how long they researched and thought about it, but finally they learned that there is a heat exchanger INSIDE the catalytic converter! They'd never encountered that before, and, gulp, it was a $2,000 item. BUT HERE'S HOW FAIR THEY ARE: They went ahead and replaced the gasket, ordered and installed the converter, and then reduced the hours billed to get me out the door for the price they'd quoted for the head gasket alone. Like I said: smart, persistent, and fair.

I’ve heard good things about this shop, but I couldn’t get them to quote my work. Talked to Mike on Wednesday and sent him a dealership quote, no reply. Then he said he would get me something Thursday, no reply. Friday comes and goes, no reply.

Arbor Motion always goes above and beyond. My heating system in my 2018 AUdi A5 had to be replaced last year and it was a tricky job. They did everything to troubleshoot and coordinated with a local windshield/glass company and gave me a loaner to use during the process. They are extraordinary communicators and loaded with talent. Highly recommend them!

These experts allow me to continue to own & maintain my late model Volvo. Everyone is incredibly polite, kind, and pragmatic in providing advice on the best course of action to keep my car in good working order and enhance its longevity. Bonus that they provide and car service within A2 to get you to home or work during the time that your car is being serviced. Every single ride I've had with those folks has been very calm and kind and full of good conversation. It's like I found a garage full of my car-oriented relatives. Highly recommend.

I had a good first experience followed by a bad second experience. But the owner called me, admitted they dropped the ball, and generously offered to make it right. Which he did. I doubt most places would do as much as the owner did. Furthermore, when I went back to Arbor Motion to get my car fixed the service was perfect. So it feels unfair to keep a negative review up for a one time fluke (which they rectified) when this company truly cares about its customers. Also, the shuttle service is nice.

I'm a car guy who has lived in the area for almost a decade, and this is my favorite shop. Top notch customer service, a high caliber of expertise and service, and tidy facilities. They have graciously helped me out when I needed it, and always give non-biased guidance on your maintenance issue. I personally like that they have/had their hands in adjacent automotive industries such as collector car storage, detailing, and racing. It demonstrates a passion for cars and builds trust. I send my friends here, and I suggest you use this shop if you are at all on the fence or deciding.

I have been to Arbor Motion three times now and I am so happy I found them. I purchased an older Subaru earlier this year and wanted to find a local shop that I could rely on. I really love and appreciate everyone I have interacted with at Arbor Motion. It has consistently been very easy to book appointments. I also really love that I have never felt pressured to add any services to my appointment. They will be honest with me if there might be other things that need done, but I have never felt pressured to do anything. My last appointment, I needed to get my tires looked at because air was constantly leaking. They figured out the problem quickly and were able to fix everything that day. And the cost was several hundred dollars less than I (and my retired mechanic step-dad) thought it would be. Truly, I am so happy I found Arbor Motion. And special shoutout to Erin who has always been so amazing with getting my appointments scheduled and answering my questions!

I've been going here for the past two years and the experience has always been pleasant. The booking/scheduling is incredibly prompt and easy. The help desk is always friendly. I live nearby so the shuttle service is excellent. Repair orders are detailed nicely online through their system. They never pressured me into accept an order unless it was absolutely necessary. Prices may be a tad on the higher side but I think it is worth it for the quality service.

PROs: Sends a quote with types of parts used (where appropriate). Nothing hidden. No one behind a computer screen give you prices you can't see. I've never received a quote for requested work in my 50+ years of driving. Shuttle service within a 10 mile radius. This was a huge help. The drivers were very friendly and seem to enjoy their work. Mike, my service advisor was friendly, listened well and competent. Another great service, they provided a loaner vehicle without me requesting when an unexpected problem was discovered during the 120K tune up and inspection (2018 Subaru outback). That took a few days. The car was a huge help. The shop is big, clean, orderly and staff friendly and all seemed to be happy being there. CONS: None! Arbor Motion is now my service garage. The dealer prices are astronomical and AM is very fair on pricing in my opinion. AM has a great deal of experience with Subaru's. This is an Ann Arbor.

ArborMotion is rated 4.9 out of 5 stars with nearly 600 reviews, and from my experience, I can see why. It’s not just their technical skills that make them great, it’s the people. I walked in with an inspection report from a local Midas to ask about a Range Rover engine light issue, get a second opinion, and see what an estimate might look like. Chuck at the front desk was super friendly, knowledgeable, and completely transparent. He went through my report, explained what the problem could be, and walked me through the possible causes. I know very little about cars or engines, but Chuck was incredibly patient and took the time to explain all the possible triggers and repairs that could be needed. He also honestly told me that their shop might not be the best option for this tricky engine problem on my 2020 Velar, and even gave me several referrals to shops nearby that specialize in European cars. What really stood out was how patient and open he was. Even knowing I might take my car elsewhere, he never rushed me and shared helpful insights. There was no pressure or sales pitch. Everything was just honest guidance. Everyone I met at ArborMotion was kind and welcoming. I really appreciated their transparency, honesty, and professionalism. I will definitely bring my car back in the future for any service or maintenance, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy advice. :)
