Ryan and Josh could not have been more helpful. Cop pulled us over for blown brake light. On a Sunday, it took us a while to get the brake light out of our Toyota Highlander. Ryan would not give up. Josh joined in. I was blown away by their helpful can-do attitude. I wish every where had this level of customer service.

Josh went above and beyond. My display on my car said I needed to add coolant. I opened cap on my coolant reservoir and the cap separated and the middle was stuck in the reservoir. I stopped at Advance and Josh managed to pull out the inside of cap. He didn't have to even do this. Kudos to my newest, favorite auto parts store. Jeffery is Joshes brother and he was so funny! Thank you Advance!

My credit union had an offer to get cash back when using my debit card on purchases from Advance Auto Parts. Since I needed a couple of things anyway, I chose to go there rather than any number of other auto parts stores that would have been a little less out of my way. Unfortunately, their card reader is set up under a different name (Carquest), so I didn't automatically get the reward like I usually would. Now I am having to spend time on the phone with my credit union asking them to look into this. This seems like a very sneaky way for a vendor to drum up business from a partner without actually having to pay out on the rewards. I would give the business a one star review for this kind of trickery, but their employees were very nice and helpful and didn't pressure me to buy things I didn't need. So, props to nice employees, but boo to business trickery.

I do as much work on my cars as I can. In fact, I am an advanced hobbyist. I currently have two project cars as well as two daily drivers, plus I maintain my daughters cars. I have always had great customer service at this Advance Auto Parts location. In fact, on 3 out of 4 of my last visits the manager helped me find some specific parts and accessories AND get them VERY quickly for me. For example, one of my Mercedes has aftermarket wheels and the valve stem is located way inside of the wheel and is NOT easily reachable. I own several different types of tire pressure gauges, but none of them will reach the valve on these wheels. The manager pulled out a parts book and showed me many different options of tire pressure gauges and he suggested one in particular. He had that gauge sent to his store and I got it very quickly. This store has an old-school feel to it. Remember the auto parts stores in the past who had guys at the counter who actually knew what they were doing and obviously had EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE working on cars? This location has that kind of vibe. (Sorry Auto Zone, but your stores feel like Wal-Mart and most of your staff do not have a clue regarding parts, how they work, and how to diagnose and install parts). These guys at Advance on Commercial Street know what they're doing! We used to own a very rare model Subaru. One day it threw the main accessory belt on my way home from work. Luckily I was only a few blocks from this store. I got the car there and showed them the problem. They had the belt I needed and it was IN STOCK! We need to support auto parts stores like this. We NEED staff members who have knowledge and experience with automotive parts and installation. We NEED staff who will go out of their way to help diagnose, research, and go through the effort of helping us get the right part and get it in a timely manner. Sure, you can shop other stores around here, but you won't always get the help that you need. (Oh yeah, for the customers who complain about Door Dash and other delivery companies who deliver your parts: get real. Door Dash and similar companies are the current standard for delivery for more than just food from restaurants. If you don't get your part, and it was clearly delivered to the wrong place, all you need is to contact Door Dash yourself. You WILL get a refund. If you don't do what you are supposed to do and CONTACT the delivery service, then well, you need to learn how delivery services work and DON"T blame parts stores and restaurants because there was a delivery problem. Good Lord people. It's pretty simple to get your money back from Door Dash). Finally, to sum up: Advance Auto Parts on Commercial is THE PLACE to go for your auto parts needs. If you have a problem there, I am certain that the manager will help you resolve your issues. However, I have NEVER had a problem and this is my "go to" auto parts store.

I was dropping off some UPS packages (I didn't know had that service) I noticed wind shield wipers which I needed desperately. There were many types and brands. I asked what would he recommend. They were in the middle section. Not upselling or going cheap. After I paid I asked if they install them. He said already done. I said that's impressive. They work like the spendy ones. Thanks!

One of the last places in Salem that still offers automotive paint and painting supplyโs! That alone deserves a standing ovation!! Alll of the staff members Iโve dealt with are knowledgeable and helpful. The custom paint color we came up with for my wheels turned out amazing, and exactly how I imagined it, great work by the young man who mixed it up with only my very limited instruction, I do believe his name is Brendan.

The two staff working today, Sunday 03/15, went above and beyond. I went in to purchase a new truck battery, and they first offered to charge my current battery to see if I could continue using it rather than purchasing a new one. They explained everything to me in detail, were friendly, and overall great. My husband is deployed and taking care of his truck has been difficult - these guys made today a lot easier. Thank you!

Best customer service I've ever received I walked in looking for some extra long lug nuts for my new wheels, these guys went outside and size checked everything and sold me the most useful lil lugnut kit ever, the lugs are anti theft, and they are narrow so my socket can fit in there without hurting the rims, if you need help with your car come here and don't be afraid to ask a question! These guys will get you right. Saved me some time waiting on shipping and made sure I got the right product.

Each store in the Salem, Oregon area are familiar enough with me coming in to get parts and to strategically utilize all the rewards and perks that accumulate with each purchase. I used to frequent the Napa on Portland Rd years back, but the consistent superior customer service attitude at this location and ability to be truly informative without being annoying about it have earned my loyalty.

I finally end up using these guys as a last resort although it's only because they're sort of off the beaten path. They actually have a pretty good selection of random things and the prices are okay, the workers are not too bad. Really the worst thing about the place is it's a real pain in the butt to get in and out especially if you want to go back south. I think that they can still get paint which is a real Plus for a lot of us, I mean like actual car paint not spray can paint. When I can't find it somewhere else I usually end up here.

Went in for a closing sale, had a gift card. They wouldn't honor the gift card. I had to order online then I spent 1-2hrs waiting in line, each person being helped for 10-40mins each. I walked out because I didn't want to wait another 1-2hrs.
