Never coming back - A month ago I came in to get a new battery, was told my alternator was also low and was suggested to purchase a new one. I was offered by an employee to have him change the alternator out, I accepted. During the process of him putting in the new alternator he sturck my gas line. He then covered the pressurized line with the cover and sent me on my way. When I returned with the complaint that I was now leaking a lot of gas I was suggested to "take that somewhere, that's serious." No effort to fix the issue the company caused. After coming back again, another employee attempted to shift blame onto me. Once finally speaking with the GM I was told to take my car for an inspection. It's been well over a month with gas leaking on my motor. I have received no calls back or email. Very poor and Inaffective service.

Stopped in to buy a new battery since my old one was kaput, Jack was great help and installed it even in negative temps and was also game to diagnose my alternator which was fine, so overall they have friendly staff and good service. They were certainly much better than AutoZone who absolutely couldn’t be bothered to help me, so I guess their loss Advance Auto Parts gain!

They had what I needed but I've had problems before where a employee actually tried to work on my girlfriends car and broke the gas line at the fuel rail changing the air filter, and he didn't say nothing about it. And got fired the day after for similar reasons. And they refused to do anything about it until I threatened to get a lawyer involved.

My wife stop by on June 6th 2019 at 10:50 am . She was going to have her battery and charging system checked on her vehicle. A free service they provide. The unknown sale associate told her that the battery needs to be out of the vehicle. Then he promptly moved on to the next customer. Now how do you check the charging system with the battery out of the vehicle? This is rude to miss lead someone that doesn't know anything about vehicles. If I would have been there things would have been different. I HAVE had some formal training on vehicle repairs and maintenance. The lack of respect and service my wife received today cost Advance Auto a long time customer. Never again will I stop and buy anything from someone that treats a woman with three kids like this just to move on to the next customer as quickly as possible. 😠

I generally like Advance Auto Parts for its reasonable prices on most of its products. But I had a bad experience when I went to get a replacement of brake pads kit that had limited lifetime replacement warranty. I'd ordered the items online and picked them up from the store. When I picked the items up, they had told me that as long as I own the car, I would be able to get replacement for the brake pads if they go bad. When I went to the store to get the replacement (with my old brake pades), the store manager said that limited lifetime warranty was only for 45 days and said that's what limited means (45 days). It's completely wrong interpretation of their policy because their limited lifetime replacement warranty says that you can replace the items as long as you own the car on which you used those brake pads. It's the same policy that Autozone has. I had the same situation with replacing brake pads a few years back and Autozone replaced them without any question. I even did not need to have my receipt as they have the record in their electronic system.

This location was really helpful. I brought in a couple of items that were still under warranty. Staff had issues located ordered but was eventually able to do. My complaint is at times online orders are not reflective in their on hand inventory accurately. Not sure why that is so hard and not sure who to blame.

Horrible customer service. I was sold a defective can of refrigerant, meaning no 134a left the can after trying 2 different nozzles on the gauges. Was not told they do not refund. Receipt does not say no returns. Defective products you can't use should be returnable. Stay away from this place.

I needed new windshield wipers and I got great service! At first there wasn't anyone who could put them on for me but within the time I bought them a guy came in and did them in ten minutes! They work perfectly! Thx!

Ordered parts online but didn't log into account for warranty purposes. Spoke with the cashier who did more than assist me with this. He had to go above and beyond in order to assist me. Cheaper by far than some other parts stores. Thank you Advance for giving hope to this DIYer.

I do not often do work on my car. However, it's nice to know that when I need to have something replaced or need to purchase something, Advance Auto Parts is nearby. I got wipers installed for free on my car with a qualifying purchase, and the employee even saved me money by grabbing a pair of wipers that I hadn't noticed were on sale. The staff seemed able to handle any issue quickly, and deftly helped numerous customers while I was finishing my transaction. I probably won't go back for a few months just because that's how I am, but I know I'll be going there and not anywhere else.

We bought a battery from them which we have a receipt and credit card statement of the purchase. Supposedly it was new. Our car had some other issues and drained the battery. We brought it back to be charged. We just went to pick it up and claimed it wasn't there. I showed them the receipt and statement and the OLD lady said there was nothing they could do. So, they sold us a bad battery, never called us when it was charged, and then claimed it wasn't there. No apology, no refund, no replacement. We're out $211, and cannot afford another battery right now. These people are dishonest, rude, and completely without ANY customer service skills. Buy your car products elsewhere. THEY STEAL!!!

Policy or not you need to let people know about your return policy verbally. No one is going to read tiny print on a yellow sign that's in a spot that you know people won't look up at.With that in mind , I called this store about a car reader, and was sold a product that doesn't function for the reason I needed it. I am out money with a useless product that I'll never use base on a recommendation from your store. Also finally, I really appreciate that your employees walk to the back of the store when I asked you to test my car battery. Top notch customer service at this place, Would recommend it to noone.

I want to start off by saying that Kristy was amazing, super helpful and listened to all my complaints after coming to the store. Yesterday 1/15, I had called and spoke to Kristy at around 11:45am. During the phone call she had told me that they could change the battery out,but it would take about about a hour and a half, if I could come in after one pm that there would be more people coming in and they could have it done in 45mins. I thanked her and said I would bring in after one. Around 4pm I had finally found someone to come jump my car, then I immediately drove down to advanced. When I arrived there was this older gentleman that was ‘helping’ me. He looked up the battery, during that time I had asked if it could be installed, “I don’t want to but if you’re going to make me I guess.” after the computer brought up the battery he informed me that “they don’t install the batteries if they aren’t located under the hood” I insisted that Kristy had told me that they’d be able to change it out. The older gentleman went to the manager (Lucas) and asked if he would install it.I just kept getting a no for an answer. By this time I’m bawling, because the whole time I was just trying to make it to a friends funeral and it was five on a Monday afternoon I had not set up any other arrangements due to being told they would change my battery out. I basically begged and asked if they would just please do it. I was still told no. Afterwords, I had to find someone to switch out the battery and when I did, they were upset that the gentleman, Jeff and Lucas refused to help me put it in, because it wasn’t any harder than putting in a normal battery in the front. When I came back to hand in the old battery, I had told them that it was ridiculous that they did not help me because it wasn’t any harder, and Lucas proceeded to get all defensive, and asked me what I was accusing him of because I had said, Christie said Lucas was coming in to help after one, so I was confused as to why he was telling me he couldn’t. Overall, it was a very bad experience I missed out on a friends funeral, I’m a single mom of three I paid $250 for a battery and they wanted me to go pay someone else to have it put in. The only way advanced will ever get my business again as if Jeff and Lucas aren’t there. i’m very disappointed in the lack of empathy and And not being able to fulfill what is promised on commercials and in-store

I recently purchased a new battery here hoping they would be able to replace my old one but due to the placement of my battery it needed to be professionally done (which i had anticipated). The team member helping me was extremely helpful and kind. He even called somewhere for me to make sure someone was able to replace the battery and carried the new one out to my car for me! I never caught his name but when giving me recommendations he said to “tell them grandpa sent you.” Overall great experience and i’m very grateful for his kindness in a stressful situation!

From the company policy to product to service, I would not recommend Advanced Auto Parts and try another store. I couldn't get the car battery from them to start. I called a tow guy jumped it and we made it halfway down the block before it shut off and I had to call the same tow guy to get my car to a shop. At White Dog Auto, they tested and charged it overnight and still couldn't get it working properly and tested it, determining it was a defunct battery. When I got my car back and went to Advanced to get a refund on my battery, the guy blamed me for having the car shop use their battery and said I should've gotten another battery from them instead. After some bickering about the policy, I said I wanted a battery exchange then. He said he couldn't do that either because their tester was broken. When I asked if I could leave the battery at the store and find another time to pick up the exchanged battery, he just kept insisting I go to the Coralville location instead and making jabs at my decisions from the battery to trying to return to getting an exchange. After all that, I got a call saying they used their own tester and deemed the battery fine. I do not trust their word or their equipment and product after that experience. Word of advice, white dog auto shop replaces your car battery for the same amount a car battery costs at Advanced Auto so I'll save the money and headache next time and go straight there instead.

Called and my battery was under warranty lady on the phone said to come in and get it replaced. Came in and the guy at the counter kept saying I should buy a new battery because the warranty would be for longer…defeats the purpose of the current warranty getting me a new battery at no cost vs paying for a new battery to last just as long. Feel like this guy is trying to take advantage or swindle people into buying things they don’t need. Had an attitude and just kept repeating that my battery warranty for the one being replace would only be for 1 month and that I should buy a new one.
