Half the store is inaccessible with boxes laying all over the floor. You can’t expect customers to describe exactly what they need or point to it on a poster/display without being able to hold it in their hands, compare to similar items, or even check the price tag. This is supposed to be a hardware store, not a jewelry store. Will gladly take the long way home and stop by Pile Hardware next time.

The owners were more than happy to help me acquire what I needed, however they seem to treat people like everyone is coming in there to steal. They didn't want me to wander around the store and browse, they told me I should wait at the counter up front. Maybe it's because of how I look, with my scruffy beard and my hobo-esque fashion sense. How I look shouldn't be used to judge whether I'm going to steal or what the current status of my bank account is. So while they were helpful I kind of have to say they were rude. I probably wouldn't go back I would go out of my way to go elsewhere. Maybe I'll travel the extra few minutes to go to pile hardware instead in the future.

Zegeer Hardware is better than any big box hardware store. Store owner, Richard Zegeer is a professional; happy, kind, polite, and helpful. The store is clean, set-up so customers can quickly find what they need. However, store owners Richard & Julie Zegeer are customer service focused - if the product is not in the store, they are happy to order it, if available through one of their providers.

The shop has a huge selection of items and owners Richard and Julie Zegeer are super nice and knowledgeable people. They have lots of tools, basic household/garage and gardening equipment, and also make keys. If you prefer to support local business over big box, this is an easy choice. The easiest way to park is to go east toward the state Capitol and turn right into the lot. You also can leave the lot through the alley behind the store for easier navigation.

I don't hardly ever give poor reviews but if I could give this place -stars I would. The lady working in there today was so rude. I was having some keys made and she made me feel like a inconvenience and tried to just rush me out the door. I was told to keep in mind that they were about to start getting busy with their noon rush. I wasn't being difficult, rude or hateful. The last time I went in I guess the owner was working and rude doesn't even come close to describing that man. I WILL NOT be going back there ever again.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. Unlike your average corporate hardware store, this small business provides ASTOUNDING service with a sweet charm. Immediately as I walked in, I was greeted by the owner and asked if I needed assistance. I told him I was looking for a Mid-Century paint for my walls, and he handed me a booklet, letting me know he was around if I needed further assistance. He then showed me all the different size options from sample to big gallons of paint, and gave me detailed, honest opinions on each color and finish. He helped my struggle with finding the PERFECT orange for my kitchen, and made me a sample immediately. He showed me a swatch of paint to describe the variation of color in the drying stage, and offered multiple items to aid me as well. As soon as I swatched the color on my walls, I knew he nailed it, and walked right back into the store to grab a gallon. He and his wife are the perfect pair, and work hard together to make sure every customer is satisfied. Their prices are ASTOUNDING, and it is a pleasure to support local business that does everything in their ability to provide great customer service and teach a young lady how to properly paint a wall, scrape old paint off of windowsills, and even clean up old apartment caulk. HIGHLY RECOMMEND . I will always go to them for all my renovating needs! Plus, they have an adorable dog, so if I could give an extra star for that, I would!

I just moved here in June. I went into their hardware store they were nothing but kind to me I was trying to fix my place up and and I needed a lot of stuff. They were kind and they helped me so much I appreciate them immensely they told me about the town and that helped. first, I just wanna start out and say this I love my community and I love supporting my community and shopping local me being a business owner myself that’s how we drive our economy but what that means said how you treat your local community members ones that are customers All depends on how successful your business is. Yes, I price check things because not all of us wants to pay $50 for something that’s overpriced to support the community when we can get it for half the price Especially in today’s a economy. After today, I will no longer be supporting your local business and it’s saddens me before I come in there today I looked on the website for a staple gun that one I wanted your clothes I needed the daily exercise so I went walking to your store upon arriving the same woman I’m assuming it’s the guys wife that owns it with her same attitude, insane, disrespect for customers that she always has was working the counter. I asked because I cannot find or see where you guys kept your staple guns and I asked if you guys had staple guns she sai d no we don’t have those type. Only thing we have is commercial obviously if I wanted an office staple gun why would I come to a hardware store to buy a freaking office paper stapler. I told her yeah that’s what I need. It’s a commercial stapler because you guys keep your stapler way behind the counter. I don’t have my glasses on right now. I literally open my phone and she wants to get smart and say oh I guess you’re just gonna have the price take me to get a better deal launch you know we are here for the community and it sucks. You can’t support the community with your price checking. Upon me opening my phone, I literally told her I said, see you like I was literally pulling up your website, cause I literally looked to see what you guys had in stock and I was just trying to show you which one I wanted the her response. I’m so sorry I didn’t know, I just assumed yeah that’s the problem every time I come in there you assume and you get smart with me but yeah, I still purchased your goods the support my community but at this point I will go somewhere else and support the community or I’ll just buy corporate because there’s no need and being hasty every single time I look at my phone to see what you guys have in stock and then I make an educated purchase that way only once have I ever said I can get a better deal Elsewhere and chose to go elsewhere and that was on a 12 foot extension cord that you guys were charging freaking $30 for and I could get it at Lowe’s for nine dollars if you can’t respectful to your customers and understand business 101 you can get the hell out of there because you don’t belong working in customer service. I’ve been a faithful customer for the last two years since I’ve moved to West Virginia and every single time I go in that store there’s constantly an attitude from her. No more. I’ll be supporting corporate or another local store within the community for my hardware purchases.
