Work was fine, but feel like the desk person gave me the bait and switch. He quoted tires with $200 mail in rebate, but when given the paperwork it didn’t apply to the tires I bought and to get the full $200 a person needs to have a Goodyear credit card. My rebate was $75. Probably would have bought somewhere else if I had known. I picked up keys from gas station employee after hours so didn’t get a chance to share my disappointment with repair desk.

Post telling me that a refund (119.24) would be issued to me because the workers here did not replace my air filter and me driving my car without an air filter for 5 months, I went in 3 times after the initial visit. Each time, I was not given the refund and when asked for an email confirmation of the refund I would receive and the incident that happend, Virak Tuon refused to send an email confirmation. In turn he text messaged his manager when I specifically asked him to send his manager, Joe Deters, and me an email so that I can take the problem up with him. He was text messaging his manager on the job when I asked him for something more formal so that I am able to claim any damage if something happens to my engine. They also claimed to have called me the next day of replacing my engine air filter to inform me but, I never received a phone call and they do not have any proof of call record for this. In my second visit for my refund, I was able to talk to Joe Deters and he claimed to issue me a check within the next day but, I never received a check. He also claimed to send me an email with the whole scenario within the next hour of me leaving the store. This did not happen. I never received the email or a refund check. DO NOT Use this location of Youngsteds!!!! Very bad experience!!

Took a car in I was looking at buying from a private party for an inspection to see what work it may need and the condition. They recommended the battery and alternator to be replaced, for a total of around $1200 (and also 4 tires) they obviously did not drive the car at all and did not mention the loud noise the car would make going 15+mph which I thought was strange. After I purchased the car I took to my main mechanic who tested the alternator and the battery and they were both in good condition, the battery according to the carfax is only 1.5 years old so I had my suspicions when they said it needed a battery. It turns out I just need a wheel bearing for the noise while driving, and do not need the $1200 of work they said was necessary "within the month". So not only did they diagnose $1200 of work that didn't need to be done, they failed to even notice that it needs wheel bearing(s). The only reason this is 2 stars and not 1 is because the man at the counter was great to work with and very kind.

Great service and appreciated working with Virak. I brought my car in for a flat and it was fixed within a couple of hours. You can trust that the team is honest and won't try to charge more than necessary for a repair. Did a great job of explaining what happened. Highly recommend!!!!!!

The team was able to squeeze me in on very short notice, was quick, honest, and was willing to help me get back on the road safely as quickly as possible. Would recommend to anyone in need of quality auto service that doesn't feel like you're being fleeced

They were able to handle an urgent brake repair for me on a Saturday and completed the work faster than expected. They worked with me to indicate what was 100% necessary and what could wait a bit longer. Noah was very helpful and even offered to stay late if we couldn't pick my car up before closing time - over and above for someone to offer to stay late on a Saturday! They do have savings/coupons available on their website so always check there if you're getting work done.

I used to take my cars here regularly. The people in the shop were reliable, reasonably priced, and gave good advice. Now there are new staff. They suggest numerous expensive, unnecessary repairs, and smile a lot hoping I won't notice. An example: my daughter's car had a dash warning light, indicating a light out in the taillight cluster. When I brought the car in for an oil change, the shop recommended replacing the entire tail light cluster, stating it was necessary because it was an LED unit. $650 in parts, over $700 with labor. I declined the repair. Five minutes of research on the Internet confirmed that the tail bulbs were not led, and could be replaced individually. I showed my 17-year old how to it; she did the repair herself, in less than 3 minutes, without tools, and spent $4.50 on the bulb. I won't be going here again, and I think many people in the neighborhood will do the same. It's sad - it seems Youngstedts has installed new service people with instructions to generate more profits. No longer customer oriented. No longer a neighborhood business.

I came in last week for some help with my car and Jaun was very quick to assist. I was all good within 10 minutes and Jaun sent me on my way. I wanted to compliment him on his professionalism and how nice he treated me, I would recommend both Jaun and Youngstedts to anyone.

Love Youngstedts on Excelsior Boulevard - this week they diagnosed and fixed my Subaru in record time. Virak's customer service and Mike's mechanical skills are the best. And the cashiers are always so friendly!

I have been taking my car here for a bit now, and they always do good work on it. They went out of their way one time to fix my oil pan when a previous oil change place had messed it up, and didn't charge me anything to do so. Virek is always really easy to work with and is super helpful. Definitely recommend taking your vehicle here.

Their diagnosis of why the car wouldn't run was incorrect. I agreed to the fixes that they suggested would solve the problem. It didn't work. The car still didn't run. I needed to pay them and then tow the vehicle to another shop where the work, which was under warranty at another service place could be completed.

Called in the morning, spoke with Joe. Talked tires and he helped me make a choice that fit my budget. Made an appointment for 1 PM. Checked in and walked the neighborhood while tires were installed. Overall a quality experience and we will use Youngsteds again. Only issue was that when I arrived, it seems they had taken another car in at my appointment time so job took longer than expected (2 1/2 hours). Hence the 4 star rating.

Clutch went out so I took it there for the convenience, being in the neighborhood. Told them the clutch went out. Told them to fix the clutch. They changed me $190 to diagnose the whole car. Did not asked for this. When they called they started rattling off a whole bunch of things that were not asked for. After they mentioned Spark plugs needed to be replaced, I had to stop him. Plugs were done 4 months ago. Pretty sure no one looked at them. So I asked for the estimate for the Clutch only now that I’m not sure if I can trust these guys. The estimate was over $1000. Knowing the price, I call my normal mechanic. Estimate there was less than 700. After they worked on my car the final price was less than 600. Now I will come back for Saturday Oil changes but that’s it Up sale seems status quo. Get a second opinion.

Edited review-Not only was the cashier so super sweet. The maintenance workers are amazing! I am disabled I haven't been able to put my car tags on. I needed new screws for the back. Not only did they give me new screws and put the tags on front and back. They did it so quickly they choose not to charge me. Being this is something most people can just do on their own. I was planning on having to pay $50+ for something most can just do. I will be back! Not only all this but their oil changes are cheeper then where I had been going. I will also be back for my tire rotations! Go there for everything you need! Edit- I came back a few months later when my car had rear caliper failures. Flat tires. They replaced everything quickly and made sure they could get me the best deal possible. I was able to pay for my car over the phone and pick up me keys from the cashier later that day. They currently have my new car after someone decided to slash my tires. They got everything all documented over the phone and had my tow truck driver drop it off to them.

I drove in without notice with an immediate problem with my car, and Virak and his team got my car into the bay within 5 minutes, had it diagnosed and showed me the issue within 10 minutes, and a few minutes after that had my issue in process of being fixed. Virak is very professional, knowledgeable, and is great with people. The techs clearly have many years of experience between them. I have been using different Youngstedts locations for years, and this recent experience is exactly why I will continue to work with them.

Overall a very smooth process for ordering new tires through Goodyear and having them replaced by Youngstedts. The issue I had is that they used metal to remove my old wheel weights, which scratched all four of my wheels, and they left the old wheel weight residue on the wheels. Youngstedts needs to provide their technicians with phenolic scrapers so they aren't damaging customers' wheels, and the technicians need to feel empowered to take the time to pay attention to the smaller details like cleaning up the old residue. My other car has high-end wheels and I'm not going to bring it to this shop out of fear of the same thing happening to it. Still, the wheels they did scratch are fairly valuable, so I'm not happy about it.

Was visiting from out of town. Found that I had a flat tire in the morning and needed an evaluation and fix. Called tire specialists around the St. Louis Park area, but they couldn’t get me in. Fortunately the Good Folks at Youngstedts were able to get me right in. After reinflating my tire with the electric pump that I keep in my car, I made my way over to the shop. They evaluated the tire and plugged it all in less than hour and at less than $40. Maybe they should change their name to “Jiffy Tire”!

They did great and quick work, price was in my budget (no upsells), and staff member Ken was super nice and helpful. He took the time to find tires that I could afford which I really appreciated. Felt like they cared. Will definitely go back for other services and highly recommend to others, especially if you don’t know much about tires, I felt I could trust them.

I had an oil change done on 11.15.25, upon which the technician as well as service manager recommended repair work on my vehicle that totaled well over $3,000.00. The repair work was so costly that the service manager even suggested that I get rid of the car. This was in spite of the fact that my regular professional mechanic who owns a large privately owned shop (not associated with Youngsted's) had previously done much of the repair work less than a year or two ago. This same professional mechanic reviewed the Youngsted's Vehicle Condition report and then later performed a full inspection of my vehicle. He was deeply troubled by how inaccurate the Youngsted's Vehicle Condition report was. For example, the rear brakes were listed by Youngsted's as "NEAR SERVICE LIMIT." Yet when the other professional mechanic inspected the rear brakes he found them to have very little wear. I even compared the brakes myself to a set of new ones and noticed that there was almost no difference between the new ones verses the brakes on my car. There were several other components (too many to list) that Youngsted's recommended needing replacement. Yet, the other professional mechanic had replaced many of these items within the last year or two and determined during his inspection that there was no need to replace these items. I have had several oil changes done over the past couple of years at various Youngsted's repair facilities. This was not the first time that Youngsted's had suggested repair work that was deemed unnecessary by my regular professional mechanic. Lastly, I spoke with the general manager of Youngsted's about my professional mechanics findings and he said "...none of the repair work was recommended, it was simply suggested..." Yet, when he was confronted that the Vehicle Inspection Report specifically stated "recommended" for many of the items he then took a long uncomfortable pause on the other end of the phone line. He then went on to state that he would speak with the technician as well as the manager on duty and get back to me. I never heard back from him.
