I stopped coming here after learning staff were being disrespectful once I was out of sight. I brought the issue to management and received no response. I recently gave them another chance and then found out employees were repeatedly revving my car while it was in their care. It's a multi-six-figure car, not a toy for their amusement. It's unprofessional and shows a total lack of respect for customers’ property. I expect better from a business entrusted with people’s vehicles, especially one that prides itself on “quality service and professional car washes.” I won’t be returning.

Friendly staff and good BBQ. I had the two meat plate with normal brisket and sausage. For sides I selected onion rings and BBQ beans You can pay extra for ' moist' brisket, but I found the regular brisket just fine. Sausage was on the bland side. Their house BBQ sauce was a little sweet 😋 The sides were outstanding. The BBQ beans were a meal in themselves with big chunks of brisket and sausage. They also give you Texas toast, a pickle and onions.

Oh my goodness, the food is so heavenly and delicious!! I ordered 3 cheese quesadillas with pork and 2 meat platters with BBQ brisket pulled. There is a gorgeous atmosphere. Also, the gas station and car are washing across from the thumb building. Highly recommend getting some foods!!

Absolutely incredible! I had the 3 crunchy tacos, and they were mouth-watering perfection. The smokehouse meat was packed with flavor, tender, and had just the right amount of smoky goodness. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and on top of everything, making the experience even better. Service was quick and efficient, so I didn’t have to wait long to dive into my meal. If you’re looking for amazing food and top-notch service, The Thumb is the place to be. Can’t wait to come back!

We had brisket catered for an event at our ranch, but after an unfortunate rainout, they were incredibly kind and accommodating — allowing us to have fresh brisket the following weekend for our rescheduled gathering. They truly went above and beyond to bless us! The brisket was absolutely amazing — tender, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. Highly recommend using them for your next event or party! We were so grateful for how they tuned an out-of-our-control situation into an even better one the next week!

Got a wash when we were in town end of Dec. Drove it back to San Diego in the rain. Wiped it down when I pulled in the garage (I never wipe my car down) since I just paid a lot for a great wash. Just last week, it started to look like it needed a wash again after the San Diego rain and dust took its toll. I've never had a wash "last" a month. If I could get it washed there again this week, I would. Plus the staff is beyond accommodating and didn't bat an eye when I pointed out some more water to dry up after they asked me to inspect and provide feedback

Had the half order of the brisket stacked thing; they were out of ribs when we were there. Too much hash brown for my taste. The beans were good, probably above average. The Mac and cheese and slaw was good, but nothing special.

My old college friend and his wife brought us to 'The Thumb' to give us a one-of-a-kind experience. Wow! What a unique experience it was! How do I categorize this place? Part modern art gallery, part restaurant, part coffee shop, part gift shop; and a nice gas station as well?! This place has great BBQ dishes, a great coffee selection, and lots of cool things/art for visual pleasure!. To top it all off, the service was friendly, welcoming and fast. When we were enjoying our BBQ treats and cappuccinos, the store manager/owner, Joe came by our table and greeted us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Another friendly and welcoming personality was Christina. No wonder Guy Fieri of the Food Network had this place on his show. This is a must-experience establishment and I highly recommend it! Prices too are reasonable. Thanks to our friends, Mark and Melissa for bringing us to this unique place! I will be revisiting this place next time I'm in Scottsdale, AZ.

We had the biscuits and gravy and burrito. Eh, my husband loved his burrito but my biscuits and gravy were subpar. That being said this is really more of a Southern dish not a southwestern dish. Customer service is okay. They sell an absolute ton of stuff in there but it's all outrageously priced. Can't think of a good reason to go back, sad because we live within walking distance. Almost $40 to take out your breakfast is obscenely priced.

Pretty much had my mind blown walking in here. I envisioned your normal everyday, disgusting gas station inside. Hell to the naw! 🙀 Once my jaw was off the floor, I realized I wasn’t in Kansas/Arizona anymore. In fact, I’m pretty sure I walked into Silver Dollar City, minus the bluegrass music…? I was surprised beyond belief. Not only does this place have special fuel for race cars and normal gas for normal cars… but also a handwashing's car wash, an outside farmers’ market, a bbq restaurant with lots of home made desserts and sides, a shaded pet area, small artists’ boutiques, a tourist gift stop, a small wine selection, an aquarium and a waiting/game playing area! Are we really at a gas station or have I walked through a time warp? Am I starring in Back to the Future? Omg imma be viral on Tiktoc. Where are the cameras? Maybe I was knocked unconscious from my husband pretending to be Max Verstappen while we drove here. Being a non-native Arizonan, I feel as if I’m back in my small, rural hometown’s hangout spot. The doors to this place musta been a portal. Hopefully my husband’s car will need racing fuel more often. Bringing me here was his mistake, not mine. 🤗I can’t wait to come back here!! Damn, I think I’m in love. Don’t tell my husband. 😻Buccee’s? What the hell is Buccee’s? Where is our Delorian? I knew I needed a rust colored, bubble jacket vest from Chico’s. Feathered hair is making a comeback. 😊 Can we fit a multi-colored, yarn woven 3 ft Saguaro into our tiny car? I bet they sell artist made bungee cords. Do you smell fresh, baked chocolate chip cookies? 🍪 👀 Look, Dory! 🐠 😂 I tried the green chile jerky from the farmers’ market. Buy some, it’s really amazing! 💣 The baked beans are beyond amazing. Their original barbecue sauce is to die for! I think I need to get a job here so I can memorize their recipes. I have even purchased a Thumb’s tee shirt! I am gonna wear and spread the word! Such a nice quality tee! Is anything bad here? Can’t seem to find a flaw anywhere. 😍

If you're looking for a hidden gem in Scottsdale, The Thumb is it! Yes, it's a gas station, but don't let that fool you—this place serves barbecue that could rival the best smokehouses around. We had the 2-meat platters with pulled pork and andouille sausage, and they were phenomenal. The pulled pork was tender, smoky, and flavorful, while the sausage had just the right kick of spice. The chili was hearty and packed with flavor, perfectly complemented by the BBQ beans and creamy coleslaw on the side. The ambiance adds to the charm. Whether you sit inside or outside, you'll find a relaxed vibe that's perfect for enjoying good food. Service was friendly and efficient, making the experience even better. Gas up your car and your stomach—this spot is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

I can only vouch for this restaurant through the takeout that our friends purchased for a dinner my friend and I were invited to. There were 5 of us. They purchased 4 (2-3 meat platters), Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket with sides of Mayo Cole claw, Famous BBQ Baked Beans, Potato Salad and a lot of sauces. Each takeout container was presented very nicely. The portions were very big, enough for 5 people plus leftovers. The taste was very good. The meats were juicy. The smoky flavor could of been more though. The Texas Toast and all the sides were excellent along with the sauces and it was all packed up, easy for our friend to drive back home. I did ask my friend how the service was, he said it was good, but because he didn't pre-order, it was a long wait to be expected. Takeout service: good. Food: very good.

The atmosphere is super cute, and the service was awesome!! The food however, was not the highlight of the trip unfortunately. It’s not the worst BBQ I’ve had in Arizona by far but still underwhelming. The pulled pork, baked beans and toast were the best thing we had, but the chicken, brisket and mac and cheese were just not that great! The brisket needs more smoke flavor, and the mac was greasy with no seasoning. Again the service and staff were very delightful!

Found this unique place while searching for an unusual spot for a monthly lunch with a friend. Without GPS I might not have found this gas station, car wash with detailing service, craft store, gift shop and fabulous casual restaurant. I had the three sliders and my friend had the smashburger. He said it was the best he'd ever had. After living in famous-for-barbecue North Carolina 20+ years this tops any BBQ I've ever had. The place is located 25 minutes from where I live but I'll be returning often. Fantastic in every way.

The Thumb catering is the best! We have used them the past 2 years to help us provide the food for our parties. Victoria, the catering manager is wonderful, responsive and easy to work with. The food has always been top-notch and the pick up was on time, easy and seamless. Every staff member we have encountered on the phone and in-person has been friendly and helpful. If you want a memorable and delicious meal, I would highly recommend The Thumb for their amazing BBQ. Keep them on the top of your list for any large group or catering needs - nothing else comes close!

What an awesome place, growing up in louisiana im used to being able to get 93 octane fuel just about anywhere. In Arizona, that's not so easy. This place has up to 100 octane which is great as my Porsche Boxster 986 recommends using 98 octane. The food was pretty good, and the staff friendly and informative. I'll be coming back for sure.

It like a cross between Buc-ee's and Cracker Barrel the food and service was good. Everything was cooked to order. Sweet potato fries were excellent along with the ribs. I really enjoyed the Biscuits and Gravy with plenty of meat. Nice prices, will drop in again if ever back this way.

The Thumb is an absolute gem in Scottsdale! From the moment you pull up, the unique vintage gas station vibe immediately sets the tone — it’s got that old-school charm mixed with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff here were fantastic — super friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there, which really adds to the experience. I ordered the Full Moist Brisket Stack with a side of Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad, and wow — everything was spot on. The brisket was perfectly tender and flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth good, with just the right amount of smoke. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and rich, and the Potato Salad had that perfect balance of texture and flavor. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Their menu is huge, so it’s clear I’ve only scratched the surface. There are so many other dishes I can’t wait to try next time. Between the incredible food, friendly service, and one-of-a-kind atmosphere, The Thumb is easily one of the best BBQ spots in Arizona. Highly recommend — 5 stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
