I've tried out a lot of car washes in the area and this one's my favorite. I only do the self-serve so I can't speak to the automatic ones, but the water pressure is always good and the brushes put out a lot of foam. The price usually comes out lower than other places. And the customer service is nice - they often come out and give you a free air freshener.

I had the Unlimited Wash membership, which was great. Unfortunately, my car was in an accident and was totaled. I called to cancel my membership, which I was able to do over the phone. As it turns out, my membership was not cancelled and I’ve been paying $30/month for almost a year. I called again to ask about the charges, and they said they would check and call me back. They never did. I’ve disputed the charges through my card, but those only go back so far. So now I’m out $240 for a membership that was supposed to have been cancelled. EDIT: After posting this review I received a phone call from the owner, who apologized profusely. They provided a refund for all of the charges that were made after my cancellation. Changing from 1 to 5 stars to reflect the prompt customer service.

The self serve car wash foaming brush blue soap stains your clothes and skin. And its impossible to rinse off your car. My car looks worse after I washed it than before. I now have to take it down the street and wash it again. Won't be back

Always clean! You can actually see the correct cleaner coming out of the hose. Owners or workers whoever they are are extremely nice and always greet when they are there. 10/10

Today I drove through one of the touchless car washes. My car wasn't completely cleaned afterwards but I planned to spray it off in one of the self service bays. Shortly after put a dollar in quarters into the machine I realized I didn't have enough change. The car wash attendant gave me my dollar back and offered to spray my car off for me! I was very impressed, super professional and helpful!

Went through this wash hoping to get a decent wash. The wash was sub par, and I needed to run it through the manual wash to get several missed spots. The free vacuums had a 6 min time limit. Save your money and time, and go to quick quack. They have better and more vacuums. They also have superior cleaning to this place. With the colonel wash and hand power wash this costed me about 20. 3/10 would not recommend.

Super disappointed. I have never had issues here and have always recommended it so I told my elderly mom to take her car there. The auto wash she chose stopped without rinsing her car and wouldn’t start again so she tried again and it did it a second time. She then ended up having to try to rinse her car in the manual bay but couldn’t do it very good because she has to use a walker. She tried to call the number off google and it says it’s a bad number. I guess I won’t be going back there. ** edit I misunderstood my mom she did not have to use the manual wash just the brush wash twice and the touchless wash once to rinse her vehicle. I’m very please as Patriot is very responsive and helping. I have updated my stars

The soft touch wash does a way better job than the touchless wash. Also it would be awesome if the unlimited wash came with at least 2 vacuum codes for 2 uses. 1 did not give me enough time to vacuum my car. I could just go around and do a double wash for the other vacuum time but that would just be wasteful on the water electricity and soaps all just for another shot at the vacuums. Other than that this place is good on cost for the wash. And the staff is friendly.

This use to be Patriot Car Wash. Never had a problem until today!!!! 1/22/2025 I got the $14.00 Wash. I had soap residue all over my doors and back of my car. Opened my driver door, and there was soap there as well. I didn't find your place under Patriot . It was under a different name, "Shiny Shell Services. If this is how the Wash is going to be, I am going someplace else!!!

When I first moved to Layton I used many of the local close to me self serve car wash places.. Out of the 5 I tried this is the best one. Bays are always clean, the chemicals always work very well, and the workers are always friendly and usually offer a free air freshener when I come through. I use them mostly in the winter but have been using them more this summer due to the water shortage. 10/10 highly recommend.

Drove out to the Layton car wash for the first time and the main drive through was closed. I usually goto the West Valley City location and it doesn’t have the Express. So when you google Shinny Shell in Layton it says it’s open 24 hrs nothing about it’s only Express that’s open which I don’t even know about because West Valley City don’t have that. Which it didn’t work for me. I pressed the HELP button no one answered phone. Does the Express include in the monthly charge that I paid for? I called the regular number and again no answer. Didn’t appreciate that form of communication. please email me back. Thanks

Ok so this is my favorite car wash. Never too busy. Accepts credit/debit cards. And has Triple Acting Foam wash! The foam comes out in three colors. I’m not sure what all the colors mean but it seems to do the trick. I always hit it with a wax and a spot free rinse to keep the hard water from baking on in our summer sun.

Did the “Ultimate” touchless wash. My car was fairly dirty from the rain early this week. Rain must’ve been pretty dirty. Either way, it cleaned my windshield just okay. Really not that well. Most of the dust that was there on my windshield from before the wash is still there and my painted part of my car has lots of streaks from the water. Also, the dryer timer was showing “00” the entire time the dryer was running. I assumed it was because no one was behind me so I only took a little longer than I usually do to dry my car. Either way, the dryer time wasn’t long enough and I literally got halfway through drying my car when the dryers abruptly shut off. Needless to say, I will not be coming back to this Touchless wash and will go elsewhere.
