I usually drive out of my way to a specific car wash, but live closer to this place and I came to check it out since my car needed a wash. I do like the prices and options offered as well as the option to do any add ons on specific areas. I went for a basic wash, and was satisfied with the outcome I was still given a air freshener as well. Theres enough parking stations to dry and vacuum, towels are provided which is great. What I did like a lot was the power and energy of the vacuum hoses they worked very well to give a good clean look.

Oil Change was not cheap. But it comes with a car wash, which consists of going through an automated car wash and then you park and detail, yourself. They provide plenty of chamois cloths and vacuums, just be prepared to do the work.

It saddens me to have to change my previous 5 star review. I've been coming here for 6 years and today will be my last day coming here. Unfortunately, I had my oil changed 2 months ago, full synthetic just to have my check engine oil level light come on. I come back to check and I'm told I need a whole new oil change when I'm not even due for one until October (it's July 7th). This tells me that they either cheated me out of oil during my oil change or just wanted me to spend another 95 bucks for an unnecessary change. Either way I'm very disappointed and they lost a loyal customer! Come here at your own risk.

Genie car wash is by far the best car wash in the county, in my opinion, and it has affordable monthly subscription plans. They are clean and organized and provide clean towels and excellent vacuums. When the location in El Cajon opens up, I will be a happy camper!

This place is a total scam! Avoid at all costs. My mom paid for a one-time car wash, and they secretly signed her up for a monthly subscription without her knowledge or consent.

I had a very unpleasant interaction with one of the workers there, i guess he was trying to sell monthly memberships but I mentioned I wasn’t interested, and that the car was not mine , then he says “well youre paying for someone else’s car wash so HA HA HA the jokes on you” and he walks away to help the car behind me, I was left speechless, like what was that all about?!? I’ve never had a bad experience at any of genies locations so that definitely threw me off, I feel he got upset because I didn’t accept the upgrade he was trying to sell, but that’s not the way to treat customers.

Genie Car Wash on University Ave is the truth. $12 touchless normally, but Diego hooked me up with a full Ultimate wash AND a month of unlimited washes for a stupid-good price. My black Lexus came out looking like it just rolled off the lot — zero swirls, undercarriage actually clean, tires shining like I paid extra (I didn’t). No up-sell BS, no waiting, vacuums actually work. Diego’s the man — ask for him and tell him the grizzly sent you. I’m set for the whole month now. 10/10, already planning my next visit.

I've been a long-time customer of Genie Car Wash for years now.. never any issues. Im even signed up for the monthly pass. Car always came out perfectly washed and clean. But as of my last two recent car washes, I've noticed that their drive-thru car wash is causing damage to my vehicle. The first washed caused the 2 damages to my front hood. Just to verify, I went through the wash again a week later and noticed damage (an inch long scratch) on my windshield in line with the same damage on the hood of my vehicle. That's 3 separate scratches caused by both the carwarsh on 2 separate occasions. I will be taking this issue up with their customer service, and if that doesn't resolve the problem, then further actions will follow.

I’m very disappointed with this car wash. Several of my friends and family members have had their vehicles damaged here, and the staff acts like they don’t know anything about it. Their customer service has been unhelpful and dismissive, offering no real solutions or accountability. I will be canceling my membership because I no longer feel safe or confident using their services. If this issue continues to be ignored, legal action will be taken. Businesses that damage customers’ property and refuse to take responsibility must be held accountable.

The car wash it self is good, but the problem comes when its time to dry and vacuum your car, there's a bunch taxi or Uber driver hogging all the spaces even when they didn't pay for the service. And then they get mad when you tell them something. Super annoying and unfair to all the paying patrons

Always busy. Specially with the local uber/taxi driver always taking up the vacuum areas. 5min maximum allowance in each vacuum slot but they normally take there sweet time in cleaning their cars. You will have to park across the parking lot and walk over to grab rags to dry your car. 5 out of 10 times ive gone and i just leave. Makes you question if the monthly pass is even worth it!

At my new spot, my car has been getting extra dirty...and all of this dry summer weather isn't helping. I was excited to get accepted for the car wash for this Elite week! On Saturday, 12 July 2025, I made my way to Genie to get my car all spiffy. The location is in a convenient area and on a large lot which is great for pre and post wash. The signage and arrows made it easy to figure out which way to move around the lot to the car wash. I pulled up behind three vehicles ahead of me. When it was my turn, I pulled and was helped by Diego. He greeted me with a smile and a joke and then explained how their membership package worked and that for Yelp Elites they were offering a one month discount for $9.99. At the end of the one month discount, the cost will go back to its regular price of $19.99 for each month. (Yes, you can cancel at anytime if not satisfied.) I was sold. I love a good deal and that is a great price to be able to wash my car off once a week to keep the darn spider webs and dry leaves off Black Velvet. ;-) He swiped his card and then used mine to sign me up and then I pulled through and around the corner to the open bay. The man standing inside of the bay waved me forward, I put my car in neutral and then he sprayed down my car with a pre-wash before the automatic conveyor moved my car through. *Tip for Genie: I appreciate the pre-wash but it would be great if the car was sprayed all the way around instead of just on the driver's side and back before the car moved into the wash bay.* The wash seemed to be quite powerful. I noticed their wash also included a Tire Glow section which was appreciated. Once the car was through the dryers, I put it in drive and move it to a spot in the lot. I didn't need the vacuums or towels; I keep microfiber towels in my car. The dryer was so good that my car was almost dry once I parked it. I wiped down some wet spots and cleaned the windshield, wiped the tires and hubcaps. I am impressed with the Tire Glow! It does a spectacular job. My tires are still clean and shiny. Truthfully, I am not usually a fan of the automatic wash centers but I am happy to say that this location is excellent! I was so thoroughly impressed with the results that on Sunday, I took my mom and bestie to get their cars washed, too. We did take advantage of the free dryers and clean towels to wipe down each of their cars and to get all of the dog hair out of their interior. Happy to report that all of our cars look great. Thank you, Genie Car Wash and Diego, for the exceptional service!
