Have been coming here for a long time. In the last two years, the price went up by nearly 250%. If you buy the car wash at the gas station, there is a quite a bit of a hassle to get the receipt inside the store and apply it to the car wash

Do not go to this place, cars are hit when you are in line and they do not take responsibility. How will I see that my tires are not on the right side? If there is a person doing that, my car was hit inside the machine and they did not take responsibility. One pays for the wash, not for the vehicle to be hit.

Been coming for over a decade, generally it's a great spot and great value. The new membership model isn't working for me though, I have 5 non commercial fleet vehicle so a membership on each would be required, yet I can only drive 1 or 2 a day depending on my needs. Today I was getting a rewash sameday because the first wash missed all the problem areas, and was informed it's now only 1 per day (that's not unlimited fyi) that's (30/31 per month) if you're getting burnt then change all the signage, otherwise rebrand. Unlimited only works if it unlimited, also happy if you go back to $3- $5 washes, I've used other unlimited services, never had this issue. Carwashes understand the automatic systems don't get every spot and sometimes miss big patches, and the guys rarely pre rinse or scrub anything... Let's get back to basics, I used to be able to tip the guys who put a brush on the bumpers but the auto system eliminated that point of contact.. I'll still use the wash, it's generally good, but this was a step backwards..

Car wash scratched up my brand new truck all over (drivers side door pretty bad.) I filled out a paper with my info and was told by attendant that his boss would, “Call me tomorrow when he gets in.” This was Thursday 7/21. Apparently there is no phone there so I can’t even get in touch. As a business, customer service along with obtaining repeat customers should be something you thrive for. Sad. Very disrespectful.

It's a $7 car wash, and that includes free vacuums. It's efficient. It's well run. Staff is friendly. Will it get your car perfectly clean? I've never had a machine wash that does, and this one does as good a job as any other. There are also self-wash bays, which are hard to come by. Definitely drop by if you're in the neighborhood.

12/08/2025 I am very disappointed with this place. You need polite people working with you. I didn't like how one of your employees spoke to me this morning. He was very disrespectful and aggressive. That's why I've decided not to return.

I LOVE Sonny's car wash in Winthrop I purchased the $19.99 a month car wash package its awesome !!! Nothing nicer than a clean car wash. And they have free vacums great deal 👍👍👍

That car wash is dangerous. My car has gotten stuck three times already, but yesterday, December 17, 2025, I went to wash my car and it got stuck in the machine again. It was pushing my car backward and hit the car behind me twice. I was with my three children, and my car now has a broken rear bumper and chipped paint. My children were very scared. I went to talk to the workers, and it turns out they don't want to take responsibility for the damage caused.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! My dad had been a loyal customer of this car wash for years, until recently. He went for a routine wash when his car was suddenly thrown off of the track and into one of the nearby machines, causing severe damage to the body of his car. The employees were super rude and tried to deny any responsibility for the damage, saying that it was his fault and even claiming that the damage was already there. After writing a review about the experience, a representative responded asking him to reach out so they could "address his concerns". He called several times with no response and has been attempting to contact the person responsible for the wash for over a month and still NO ONE has replied. At this point, it seems like they are just avoiding all responsibility for the damage caused by their faulty equipment. I will update this review if they ever decide to take corrective action.

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS EXPERIENCE — I WILL NEVER RETURN. I’ve been using this car wash for over 15 years, long before prices ever went up from $3 — and after what happened last night, I will never be back. I will also add that I have never in my life taken the time to submit a negative google review for anything until today.. Midway through the wash, my truck was suddenly yanked backward far enough and with enough force to slam me into the car behind me — a car that had been nowhere near me when I entered. In a panic, I had to lay on the horn and throw the truck into drive just to escape before more damage occurred. My pregnant wife was in the passenger seat during all of this. Thankfully she wasn’t injured, just traumatized but that is pure luck.. My (newer) truck escaped with minor scratches, but the car behind me had its license plate bent in half and its bumper dented. When I got out to address what happened, the attendant immediately started yelling and swearing at me, as if I had done something wrong, even though my truck was in neutral exactly as it should have been. After yelling back and calling him out, he finally admitted the fault was on their side — then had the nerve to ask if this was my first time at the car wash. I told him I’ve been coming here for over a decade and that this incident might change that unless they were willing to make it right. Instead, both attendants literally turned their backs on me and refused to acknowledge I was even speaking. That was their “customer service.” After this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone and I will do everything in my power to ensure the people whom I care about in the Winthrop/East Boston area never come through this carwash again. What happened was not just inconvenient — it was unsafe. People deserve to know what they may be risking by coming here.

!!WARNING!! If you value your car, AVOID COMING HERE!! A few weeks ago, I went for a routine wash. What ended up happening was anything but routine. Towards the end of the wash, I suddenly felt my car being pushed to the right. Before I could do anything my car collided with some of the machinery inside the wash, causing extensive damage to the front of my car. I managed to get the car back on the track and out of the wash, worried about being hit by the car behind me. I immediately went to the operator, who did nothing but accuse me of lying about the damage and tried to say that it was already there before the wash. It wasn’t until after arguing and asking him to check the cameras several times that he finally agreed to have me fill out a report and told me to come back the next day to meet with the owner. I was forced to leave work early and make the trip back to wash only to find that the owner was not there again. What a coincidence. This time, I was met by a kinder gentleman who was more willing to help. He explained that this sort of thing can happen if the tires do not seat properly on the conveyor and gave me a number that I could call to connect me with the owner and to try again the next day. I retuned again and sure enough, the owner had “just left”. I called the number, only to be met with an automated voice asking me to explain my reason for calling and said that I would receive a call back. It has now been OVER TWO WEEKS, I have called a few times since and I have not heard anything back. At this point it seems that they are avoiding all responsibility to avoid paying for the damages. So try this wash at your own risk.

I found the most popular place in Winthrop today! Sonny's car wash was incredibly busy but they moved everyone through so easily, my car looks great with the Ultimate wash and they have free vacuum if needed. I chatted with the staff assisting at the pay station, he was very friendly and helpful. Thank you
