Insanely high single-wash prices ($26/wash) forces customers to either A.) be gouged, or B.) pay for an auto-recurring monthly subscription. (Note: subscription models are notoriously bad for most consumers.) The value of subscribing is undermined by limited operating hours—closed EVERY evening during prime car-wash hours at EVERY central Iowa location. The fact that Mister Car Wash uses a bot to respond (generically and 100% unhelpfully) to every Google review epitomizes their business model—maximize profit, minimize customer service. Even worse, the way their drive-thru touchscreen menu prompts customers—of their entirely mechanized car wash!!—to “tip” their employees shifts the burden of paying their employees onto their (already overcharged) customers. Typical predatory business that undercuts the competition, then squeezes the customer base. Do better.

I haven't gotten a wash yet that has gotten all the dirt off my vehicle, but with how closely you are loaded on the conveyor, that doesn't surprise me. I bought the monthly package so I can go through whenever I feel I need to. *The staff have always been extremely nice and helpful!

Worse place to go for car wash, they damaged my lights bar on my truck and now they told me it’s after market so they are not responsible, my wife told them to not use the top brush as attached to my profile from previous manager, and now they said they can not fix my truck . Poor management and lack of training. This place it’s a joke . They a new Guy , not train . The manager told me to cancel my membership and not bring both of my vehicles there anymore. They have ability to stop that top brush , the manager left the new guy on his own and now my truck has broken light and my bar need to be replaced, looking at $500 damage on my truck. I will not recommend that place at all they absolutely do not care about customers and not trained their staff

Left scratches and swirls and didn't even get my truck clean. Running boards still had sand on them, some spots on body weren't even touched, wheels weren't clean, etc. Spent an hour when I got home hand washing it. Highly disappointed and now likely going to have to pay hundreds of dollars to get the scratches removed.

Great wash! Sarah recommended the Titanium wash and it really made a difference! We also appreciated that she took time to prewash the bird droppings off my car as we went into the tunnel. We’ll be back!

1st time had the interior done also let's just say "Not impressed"🥴... Paid 39.99 for the wash and extra $21 for the interior... if I paid $21 total I would have been satisfied feeling I got my money's worth

Typically Mister Car Wash in Pleasant Hill has been my go to place since they opened. However, since they hired a young lady that provides a high dose of attitude, salty comments, and snark if you have the nerve to decline the membership, it's no longer hoing to be my go to. I'll be driving over to the Oasis in Altoona just to avoid her. I understand it is part of the job to offer/sell the membership. I don't mind hearing the schpeel. However, if I politely decline after being asked 3-4 times during the same interaction and she then proceeds make negative comments about me to her coworker in my earshot as I am pulling away.... additionally the attendant didn't spray my car as I entered, presumably at Miss Attitude's request. This equates that I will never purchase the membership there nor add a tip there. I will take my business and tip to a place that understands basic customer service. Do better.

On the morning of October 14, 2024 I took my husband’s truck the mister car wash in Pleasant Hill. It has been thru this car wash several times. The guy who guided me in sprayed the windshield and then I put my window down to remind him to shut the top rollers off. I even pointed to the top of the truck. He said yeah as he turned to look at their screen. As soon as I came to the rollers and I saw them still rolling I knew he hadn’t shut them off. The roller got hooked on the lights and bar and stopped the truck from moving. Once the roller finally let go it pushed the truck forward. As soon as I got out car wash, I drove back around to the office and reported what happened. I assumed it was the manager I was talking to and he said there wasn’t anything they could do because it was after market. I said then why have we brought this truck thru a million times and all you have to do is shut the rollers off? He then tells me it’s because the guy was new and didn’t know. I said I thought you told my husband and I that it was on our account for this truck to shut it off? He tells me again they have new people and that we just needed to stop taking the truck thur there and that there was nothing he could do about it. I called my husband and when he comes to the car wash they tell him they will file a claim and that they will get back with him. My husband called the corporate office and told them about it and they told him the manager of the location needed to file a claim. When my husband called the location back today he was told they wouldn’t be doing anything about it because it was an after market part. I do know they have a new manager at this location and he is very incompetent. The new manager knew about the roller being shut off when we would take our truck through because he had shut it off for us several times. He should not have left a new employee by themselves when they don’t know what they are doing! We will never go back to this location! There is around $500.00 worth of damage done to my husband’s truck and I will be contacting a lawyer about it!

Altoona Iowa car wash is horrible. Wish there was a way to send pics of the wash I just got. Spend nearly $90 a month for 2 vehicles and every time I wash my car I have to go home and finish cleaning the dirt off of it. This is ridiculous. Who is going to reimburse me for the bent in half license plate that finally broke off because of how many times it has been bent by your terrible equipment. Not that you care clearly but this will probably be my last month as a member and my company will no longer carry a membership either for our 30 vehicles. Absolutely terrible. And what happens when you ask an employee what they can do to make this right? Shrug their shoulders and say we can’t do anything or that they are told to not spray the vehicles because the water messes up the way the chemicals work. Most ridiculous junk I have ever seen.
