Store often smells awful, even upon walking through the door. I also noticed recently that they are charging the locally mandated "bag tax" on paper bags, as well as plastic. If they want to charge a fee for paper bags, I understand that, but when it shows up on your receipt as a tax, that seems illegal.

Went there just now with my aunt and niece we was standing there for a good 10 to 15 minutes and the cashier went on and closed the line and told us we had to go to a different line. Very unprofessional and very rude. I feel completely embarrassed about this. Because I felt as if we wasn't valued as a costumer

This Kroger is small compared to most, but definitely has what you need. My issue is the smell inside the store. It was rancid! I also had an issue at the fuel pumps and the attendant was unfriendly and not helpful. I don't expect much from a fuel attendant, but the service was below minimum. Won't be getting gas here again.

The most uninterested and unmotivated staff I’ve ever seen. It’s 4:15 pm and customer service is closed until after 6. How is that possible that if they make a mistake at the register that you can’t get it fixed because no one is at the service desk and you have to wait almost 2 hours for them to open the desk? They had a shift change and no manager available. I also had a rain check and couldn’t get that either. Thanks for telling me after I waited at the desk for 5 minutes that no one was coming. There was no sign or anything and scores of staff walked past and around me without telling me anything until finally one mentioned it was closed for shift change until after 6.

This is the second time I’ve been stopped and told that I was stealing 2 energy drinks! I go every day and have my 2 kids and family member with me! I would never do that when I spend money every single day with this place! Just because they said they seen me pick it up when I entered the store but didn’t go to check out with it which is because the first time I put the items down in seasonal (which the fat guy that ride on the scooter found after I left) then after that he followed me and my kids every time I came in there from the time I entered until I left even watched me check out and spend money everyday and even pull a bunch of money from the atm at times. The second time he had went and whispered to another worker and then when I got to check out she tried to stop me. The second time was over the same thing but when I told them I sat them in the back of the store and offered 2 times to take them to the items they wouldn’t let me then told me that I was banned and everything. I ran and put my kids in the car with the family member and ran back inside to handle business and show my bags and yet again offered to take them to the items that I sat down in the back of the store that they wouldn’t let me take them to and yet again I was called names and told no. Me and my 1 and 2 year old have been harassed every single time by the fat guy that doesn’t even really work there for months now. Just because I pick something up doesn’t mean that I stole it people sit stuff down at the wrong spots all the time and not only that my kids throw things out and half of the time I don’t notice that I don’t even have them anymore until after I get home and look for it only to realize that they must have thrown them out while walking through the store! This place is absolutely disgusting and ridiculous. I’m not the only person that this has happened to just of how I look or dress either. There are 2 others that it happens to as well. I’ve seen the same thing happen to these people who I didn’t and don’t know and after the big blow out they proved the people wrong and never came back because they were judged by how they look when in reality they had plenty of money

This is a great grocery store. It is well stocked and the bathroom is very clean. The only problem is the toilet paper holder is broken other than that a great experience.

It works if you just have to stop quick. I would recommend any other kroger in Roanoke if you need to actually do a shopping trip. And whatever you do, don't get stuck having to use the restrooms. Go to the Lowes next door.

MAJOR PROBLEM is the 3 self checkouts are only open in the morning before 9:30 if that. That's ridiculous when you have a long line all the way to the bakery almost and people give up and leave. Not great to run a business if you ask me, you are losing loads of money

I will never visit this Kroger again. The staff are not interested in customer care in any way. Two managers walked past me while at self checkout, and did nothing to assist or even speak. One lane was open other than self checkout, and the self checkout equipment is so pathetic and outdated. Kroger employees seem to think that customers want to hear about the employees life issues, and we don’t. I will find a different grocery store from now on.

The girl at the flower station that wraps the flowers for you clearly doesn’t like her job and it shows. Doesn’t ask u how u want your flowers wrapped or what color to use. She’s just horrible and her attitude is terrible as well. Plus most of the flowers look dead but cost an arm and a leg Do better!

For several years, there have been persistent issues with expired items, a large number of items that are never stocked, and consistent issues with Instacart. I received a delivery that contained a contaminated item that had been placed in the same bag as raw meat. Nevertheless, Kroger has not remedied the significant negative ratings that Instacart continues to receive.

Not a bad store but in their cheapness they usually have only one staffed checkout , like they're trying to discourage everyone from using it. Even during the busiest times. So if you have a cart full of groceries you either have to self-checkout or wait in a long line.

I just wanted a piece of salmon. Today I thought I would try my neighborhood Kroger on Rutgers again. I typically drive all the way down to Tanglewood because they have what I need each visit. So they removed the "fresh cuts" from being displayed but they put a massive sticker on the glass that says "FRESH CUTS STILL AVAILABLE". No one is waiting for you there. Instead they've installed a doorbell box on top of the display. I hit it and waited around 5 minutes. An employee was walking by, saw me and went back there to find someone. That was great, thanks. A very elderly man came out of the back. I don't want to be ableist, but this man with hearing aids could barely hear what I wanted. How is he going to hear a doorbell. I tell him I want a cut of salmon and he tells me they don't have the fresh cuts, only the salmon packaged from the factory. So I leave and now I'm going to Tanglewood. This Kroger is 8 minutes from my house. 5 minutes from job. I can't even go to my neighborhood Kroger to get what I need. I have to drive across town and fight 581/419 or 581/Colonial traffic to get to a Kroger to get one piece of salmon. There are so many other issues at this location, I'm just done with it. Will go to Food Lion instead, they still have fresh cuts.

This is my fourth time getting a coconut from Kroger and it being molded and spoiled. This time I drank some of the coconut water not knowing it was spoiled and got sick for 2 weeks I’m giving Kroger a change to fix this problem

I shop here about half of the time due to this store’s proximity to work. I often find them out of stock, especially in produce and meats. However, I have noticed recently that the staff goes above and beyond to be helpful and friendly to customers. I was greeted throughout the store and offered assistance even before I asked. Kudos to the team and management for emphasizing the importance of good customer service. Now if corporate can take care of inventory…

Service: 10/10 Very helpful people, always point me in the right direction, but they don't follow you to the aisle which I don't like, taking them away from their tasks just to cater to me. Cleanliness: 7/10 Could use some attention but considering it's high traffic and the employees are overworked Staff: 10/10 Very nice people, the older ladies call you baby or sugar, an old southern tradition. Atmosphere: 8/10 A very comfortable place to shop around and browse Busy: 8/10 It was pretty busy, but most Krogers are Value: 7/10 Depends on what you need, you can find it cheaper elsewhere but at least Kroger always has good quality Overall: 9/10 This is one of the better Krogers I've been too, and the bad reviews may come from the fact that most of the staff is black which some people have a problem with here in VA. They can't say the N word so they find other things to complain about and be a general Karen about things. These workers deserve ever bit of consideration, by management and customers alike
