This is the best HEB still near downtown. They stock lots of great products I can’t find at Port Tarlton or the smaller S Alameda store. The bakery is also the best. I got a rotisserie chicken there the other day that was so perfectly cooked I was astonished. And they even have a bulk section with dry beans, spices, nuts and chocolates. It’s worth it for me to drive past the two closer to me to shop at this HEB.

I think I've never put a bad review on Google Maps or H-E-B but this time I have to do it, my husband and I had almost 3 years living in Colorado we returned to Texas excited to buy at H-E-B because we love this store, but one of their cashiers named EILEEN S, made me not come back to this store, she was very rude with the lady who was in front of us, and when it was our turn she didn't even look at our face to say Hi, my husband asked her how to get the rewards, and she made him feel stupid, I have the app but I hadn't put my phone number since I wasn't in Texas, suggestion they should send her to do a course on how to treat customers. 0💥 star for you EILEEN S

I used to shop at this store all the time when I lived nearby. Nowadays I work as a vendor and need to enter frequently to service it. That being said, yeah, no, I would never spend money or set foot inside this store again. I'm sitting here fuming over an interaction I had earlier today with the substitute receiver (Johnny) and the only thing I can really do about it is type out my frustrations. Basically, I need my product brought down via electric machinery (basically forklifts). I don't know how to operate that electric machinery, AND my boss told me I can't learn how to do it because company policy prohibits it. Nonetheless, many vendors choose to ignore that policy and use that machinery to get their own pallets down. So of course, that makes me look like an idiot since I'm one of the few people who don't know how to use it. While the receiver who's normally there most days is absolutely cool with getting my pallets down, Johnny on the other hand gave me a massive attitude. He's always seemed annoyed about having to get my pallets down, but today he was extremely rude about it. Today I walked up to him per usual and said excuse me. I always approach by saying excuse me. I then continue the politeness by saying "can you get my pallets down whenever you get a chance". He rolls his eyes at me, gives me a look and acts annoyed that he has to get them down. I explain to him (yet again, I should add) that I don't know how to operate the machinery and my boss has told me I'm not allowed to. He then gets an annoyed tone saying it's an issue and how "there's not enough people here to help you". I then tell him he can speak to my boss about the issue and offer him my boss's phone number, which he rejects and proceeds to continue letting his frustration out on me. He keeps acting like I'm a bother when I'm trying to do my job, saying that everything is my fault and "everybody else uses them". Essentially he was treating me like an idiot for not knowing how to use the machines and following company policy. I then try to retreat from the situation by saying he can forget about bringing my pallets down and that I can take care of it tomorrow, but then he rejects that and continues arguing. The altercation made me so uncomfortable that I left the store without completing the service. I don't know what his deal was. Is he racist? I'm black, he's white. Is he ageist? I'm young, he's old. Is he discriminating against my autism? I don't know. Whatever the reason, the entire situation was wholly inappropriate and I should not have been treated that way for politely asking a simple question. Quite literally the entire conversation could've been "Excuse me, can you get down my pallets when you get a chance?" "Sure, give me a few minutes I need to finish up some stuff" "Alright thank you". But no, he had to turn it into a fiasco.

I like the selection of organic and gluten free foods. This allows me to shop for healthy items that meet my dietary restrictions. Unless their computer system is (rarely) not working, I love being able to order online and having the groceries ready for me when I arrive at curbside.

Much more wide open of a space to both park and inside the store. I am a little shocked of HEB's weekly news flier. One page (one side only) of grocery deals...........come on, seriously? At any rate, the store was clean, and Victoria and cashier was more than happy to retrieve a can of smokeless tobacco for me. I prefer this HEB over most in the Corpus Christi area because it's not close to SPID, which seems to be a bottle neck 18 hours a day.

The Rotisserie chicken, especially the leg quarters and drums, have been horrible lately. The meat, is very dried up.

This store has really gone downhill. The AC hasn't worked properly for many months, and we should not have to sweat to buy groceries..it truly ridiculous. There are flies in the donut cabinet,so can't buy those. Today,no packaged green beans,no Fatboy ice cream sandwiches. They have quit carrying the 5lb roll of Ground Chuck for no reason whatsoever. I guess it seemed like a good change. Standing in line sweating, they have the 25 item lanes closed for whatever reason. It is sad this is the only food chain here, but at least have some pride.

Love the HEB on Alameda. I always find my favorite produce, deli food is always fresh. I can always find a variety of prepared salads sandwiches and soups. Always fully stocked. The staff always greets you with a friendly smile. It’s not a big store but l love that it feels like a part of the surrounding community❤️

I think I already posted about HEB. They sent 18 wheelers out with aid when Texas had their last flood before FEMA made it out.

I reached out to them via Twitter to tell them about expired salad dressing they had on their shelves. Went back days later, and they were still there! I guess they don't monitor their social media pages. 🤔. Sorry you didn't know my location, but I had it on, so Google Maps should've shown it. Anyway, went back today to Robert and Alameda location, and still!😱

I absolutely love the Marine Veteran with white hair who works primarily in the test kitchen / sample area. He gives amazing tips, has great suggestions for wines, sides, and desserts to go with the recipes he’s serving, and has broadened our regular weekly menus. Moving to Texas from the Pacific Northwest, I’d never had gumbo. He gave me my first taste of it and I’m now obsessed with. I always make it now with the jar of Bayou sauce and the Better than Good Sausage that he used and even Texas Natives give me compliments on my gumbo.

Buyer Beware!!! I love my H.E.B. because most of the time they're pretty straightforward with their policies but I have to alert everyone who like me was unaware of their return policy when a clearance/reduced item is bought. I bought this 1/2 pie and the following day I was going to enjoy a slice with my morning coffee. I took a bite and it tasted bad, I had to spit it out. I went and and asked for a refund because I sure wasn't going to expose me or my family getting sick. The cashier at customer service asked another employee about the return and this employee (Brianna) told the one taking care of me, "absolutely no refunds on clearance/reduced sale items," I guess even on spoiled products they sell to their customers. They asked me if I wanted it back, no I didn't want something that tasted gross back. I told her to just throw it away. My problem is not with the policy, it's the fact that where these baked goods were, there was absolutely no sign alerting customers of such policy. She said that there was a sign out there on clearance items about this policy. I told her that there might be a sign somewhere else in the store where they have other items but not where I found the display of reduced sale baked goods. My loss was just $6.20 (small loss) but just letting everyone know to make sure the item they're purchasing from any H.E.B. has not gone bad. Be careful when buying other items especially small kitchen appliances, beauty tools or bigger tag items because they will NOT refund your money no matter what and you'll be screwed. DO NOT BUY ANY CLEARANCE/REDUCED SALE ITEMS FROM THIS STORE. Unless you're willing to take a 50/50 chance in losing your money if the item is no good or doesn't work.👎😓 UPDATE: I went to H.E.B. to pick up prescriptions at the pharmacy and went by the clearance section that employee "Brianna" assured me there was a policy posted within the display about "absolutely no refunds on clearance/reduced priced items," well guess what? No such sign at all. The nerve of her to affirm such false statement, does anyone see such sign in the picture? I sure don't. 🤷♀️🤦♀️

UPDATES: MANY DEAD FLIES INSIDE THE COOLER!! What is going on? Is food safety and sanitation not a priority anymore at HEB??? DISGUSTING. I am posting the pictures below of how the cooler looks like on 01/09/2025 @ 4:00 pm. See the flies below. HEB NEEDS A SERIOUS COMPETITION, this is sooo gross. THIS SHOULD BE REPORTED TO HEALTH AUTHORITIES. Past review 2024: This review is specific to the PRODUCE Department. Found rotten oranges displayed to be sold to the public, this is very concerning from a Food Safety standpoint. I am going to remind the Manager in charge that you are selling FOOD and not nails or tires. The Health Department needs to be looking at the refrigeration conditions, adequate temperature or any other source that is causing this food store to sell rotten produce to customers. This is completely unacceptable. Where are the produce inspectors ensuring that merchandise sold is acceptable and has passed inspection? Daily audits? Is anybody listening?

Love the convenience of curbside but if I’m paying a $7.95 curbside fee just for 4 of my items to be missing and now have to drive to the store TWICE to pick up my order again I really shouldn’t have to pay no fee thats a reimbursement for my gas and my time at this point. I Spoke to 2 different young girls, one accused me of not even having those items on my list and the other just offered to set the items to the side so I could pick them up again. No manager, pretty disappointed. Edit: Came to pick up my items, called to let them know I was there hoping to get home quick and no one knew about my order and I had to wait an additional 20-30 minutes for my order again.

It’s HEB they have food and they help the community A LOT! I have only good things to say. The prices are consistent with other grocery stores. People are nice. Inventory is well stocked and place is clean and inviting. I mean it’s a grocery store so… not sure what else to say. But I will say that saying something positive is really easy. You’ve got to come to HEB if you haven’t ever been. It’s really great company and great place for food
