On 9/14/2024 I dropped my car off at firestone on 23rd St in independence, Mo. I purchased a lifetime rotation Ballance AND alignment on my 2022 tesla. Firestone will not honor the lifetime rotation and balance. I have the documents showing that I paid for both a lifetime rotation balance AND rotation. Every other Firestone I have used honor what is in their computer system that I paid for but the independence branch will NOT. 6 out of the 9 times I have had it aligned and rotated there was no issue (2 were done in Olathe) (6 were done in independence) but the last time I was refused at the independence location. So I call customer service WHILE my vehicle is being aligned. I asked them if they are 100% sure I paid for a lifetime alignment and tire rotation and they said yes. I let them talk to the store manager. He still refuses. She asked me what I wanted. I said I want what I paid for that is in YOUR computer system. The manager said I will just give you your money back from 2 years ago. I explained to the manager I have 3 DIFFERENT VEHICLES WITH THE LIFETIME WARRANTY I BRING HERE. A 2015 ford f150 a 2014 Toyota Prius and a 2022 Tesla. I do not want my money back I want you to honor the lifetime warranties I purchased. At the end of our conversation he said he will only honor the lifetime alignment but if I want the lifetime Ballance and rotation I can buy it again or he can do it now on my vehicle for half the price. I told him again. I have purchased 3 lifetime alignments on 3 different vehicles and 1 lifetime rotation and Ballance to go along with the lifetime rotation because of the battery weight on the Tesla. I should not have to purchase it again and I left.

A consistently amazing experience. I was desperate and on a time crunch, and despite not having my wheel lock key, the crew figured out how to get the wheel lock off, inspected the tire in 15 minutes, and ordered a replacement tire for next-day arrival. Next day, they were ready for me exactly when they told me to come, and replaced my tire in just 20 minutes. Truly great staff. Thank you Lily, Jesse (I think), and Ricky!

I am a 70 year old quadriplegic female veteran. I was denied service on my wheelchair equipped vehicle after waiting two hours to get service because it didn’t have a driver’s seat in it. I told them I would be happy to drive it into the stall for them, but they continued to deny me service. It’s the first time in 41 years that this has ever happened to me. I was going to buy two new tires from them, but that will never happen now.

Had a blow out in our family van last night. The team was able to get me up and running today to keep my family safe. Discounts were proactively given and it didn’t feel like a sales attack.

I've been here twice now & I don't feel like they talk to me how most places do; because I'm female, alone at a car shop, I usually get a lot of mansplaining but not here. I ask my questions, I get respectful responses & that goes a long way. Mike is a cool dude & they do a great job on my car. I'll continue bringing my business here.

On 7/22/24 I dropped my vehicle off at this 23rd street location, for an oil change. I also asked if they can check to see why the idle was slightly off, and to check why my thermostat gauge was stuck on cold. A couple hours later, they called and informed me that my valve cover gasket was leaking oil onto the spark plugs, causing a misfire; they recommended new valve cover gaskets, and new spark plugs and wires. I agreed to the work. The next day, 7/23/24, I went to pick up my vehicle. After I started it, I immediately can tell something was way off, the idle was rough and when I revved the gas, there was a slight delay, then my engine light came on. I never left their parking lot and I immediately went back in to tell them something was not right. They put a code reader on it and it was showing a possible vacuum leak somewhere. The mechanic stated he wasn't going to be there the next day (Wednesday) but could look at it Thursday. I left my truck there. On Thursday they called to say both their code readers were not working and couldn't get to it till Friday. I then asked about the temperature gauge. They told me the mechanic added coolant and the temp gauge was now working. I heard nothing on Friday. By Saturday, I called and was told the mechanic called in sick.. but I could come pick up the vehicle and bring it back Monday. I decided to do so. My vehicle had no power, barely was drivable down the road, the engine was rattling, something was seriously not right. The temp gauge was still not working like they claimed. On Monday I took it back; later that day, they called and claimed they believe my EGR valve was leaking air and causing the problem. I previously had EGR work done on it at Midas a year prior, so I told them I would take it to Midas first to see what might be covered under warranty. They also informed me the mechanic thinks my temperature gauge may be a wiring issue in the dash and quoted me for 7 hours of work to tear the dash out to get to it. I declined. I went to pick my truck back up. After picking it up, I noticed there was oil fingerprints all over the hood. They made a mess doing the valve covers but couldn't clean the oil prints off my hood that they made. On Tuesday I dropped my vehicle off at Midas; The next day they called to inform me there was nothing wrong with the EGR and after an in intense search, they found the problem. Spark plug wires 1 and 3 were not put in the right order and it was causing misfires and engine issues. They flipped the 2 wires back where they are supposed to be and my vehicle runs smooth as can be again. Firestone took basically a week to find out what the problem was, but they couldn't figure it out. Midas figured it out in no time. I am very disappointed at the service I have received at Firestone. Their engine mechanic, Tyler, didn't install my spark plug wires correctly and could have caused some serious engine problems. Additionally, ever since he did my valve cover gaskets, my cruise control no longer works, so he must have disconnected the cable or put that back on wrong. I still see fresh oil on the bolts to my valve cover, which makes me think it still has a small leak. I also had them recharge my air conditioner as it has a leak somewhere; they did recharge it but no cool air comes out at all. I spent over $1400 for the work they did on my vehicle, but yet I had to take it somewhere else to have them fix the error they did on it. I have never experienced such poor customer service at Firestone before but now I have no desire to have them work on my vehicle again. I pretty much wasted my $1400 there.

Went in to have wheels aligned. I just had a lot of front end parts replaced and needed the alignment. The technician took about 20 minutes to complete the job which was awesome. The customer service representative in the front was very informative and efficient. Would recommend this place for services.

The guy who was working the counter the morning of 10/31 needs a big raise. I have always had a great experience at this location, but I especially want to commend him for his personality and professionalism.

Too bad there aren’t zero stars. Paid a ton of money to have my brakes done. Only to hear some noises. I crawled under there to see what was happening and they forgot to put the caliper pins back in. Thankfully nothing bad happened. Also had them replace an engine gasket as well and there are several bolts missing from my valve cover as well. Hope they plan on replacing all of that.

They were great getting me all 4 winter tires and an oil change in the same day. They even stayed a little late to get it all taken care of! Would definitely recommend!!!

I had a thermostat placed in my vehicle by Oakes GMC which was not done properly. Tryston and Firestone was very Trustworthy, they quickly diagnosed the issue and informed me that GMC had not properly placed the thermostat housing correctly. I was only charged a minimum fee. I completely trust Tryston and Firestone with my vehicle and I will be back.

We really love this location. Great communication and services are done well! The lifetime alignment package is well worth it for someone who works on their own vehicle. The employees are also really kind and helpful. They will tell you if something needs repaired but won’t hound you on it like some other places which is refreshing.

Spent $1200 on tires I get road hazard and replacement My prior destination LE2 lasted 90,000 miles They sold me destination LE3 And I have had six flats and two blowouts from the sidewall in 9 months When I go to ask for my rim back, the manager asks why I’m not getting a tire on it. I said because it’s $148. He gives me my rim. I say “thank you” and he sighs under his breath mumbles “oh wow” as he walks back into the maintenance shop Your destination, LE3 tires are garbage I’m gonna go give Michelin a try

I've used Firestone for years. Lately, it's greatly improved, thanks to the area manager, Brandon Thorpe. I had a chance to interview him recently while he was making a visit to this store. He's got the right attitude, experience and success with improving the stores in Independence. As a journalist. I used to, among other things, write about consumer-complaints. I've had excellent service at the Noland Road location, where I even suggested Corporate promote Tryston Harris. Wow! He's now service manager at the 23rd location, and gave me perfect service at a reasonable price today! He'll be moving up the ladder regularly. And, so will the manager on 23rd, Wyatt Farley. If I was CEO, I would quickly put him at one of the Northland locations, closer to where he lives in Platte City. However, if nothing changes, I can expect to get continued service I want on 23rd. And, as I waited for my check-up today, I heard many many happy customers checking out. If you haven't tried a Firestone, you NEED to CHECK IN!
