The food is very disappointing. I felt that I wanted to throw up after I ate. If I knew the food was gonna be this bad I would have ate at home or went somewhere else.

I just visited this little place, and I hope it sticks around. I had the chicken mole with rice and beans, which was good but not great. However the tamales with mole are amazing and definitely worth the visit.

This place feels like a hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered the Tlayuda de carne and an horchata. When I sipped on the horchata, I felt like Anton Ego in Ratatouille; my mind was transported to a time in Mexico enjoying meals with my Abuelita. This restaurant is the most authentic Mexican cuisine I have had in Merced County. I will be returning again.

Food was good, but there didn't seem to be a proper menu, so we weren't sure what we could even get. Cashier mumbled a lot. Eerily quiet. Drinks were overpriced and the hot ones were undrinkably hot, in high insulated mugs.

If I can give them half a star I would. I went to eat at this place based on its reviews. I was disappointed. Food is terrible, price is outrageous, who ever gives them 5 stars has never tasted real authentic Mexican food.

Delicious Oaxacan food. - Tlayuda is awesome, basically like thin crust mexican 'pizza' and the kid size is already pretty large. - Molcajetes was excellent, shrimp wasn't overcooked, generous delicious cheese, and we had to order more tortillas to go with it. - Tamales were all moist, and delicious and the star was their mole tamales. Friend had grasshopper quesadilla, and we saw some offering for the corn-mushroom. So definitely some more traditional ingredients offered here.

Honestly I don’t think I’ll ever come back or recommend this place. When we sat at the table a very small portion of chips were given to our table of 7. The salsas tasted old and the beans tasted like chlorine. I don’t know if it’s just me but the cheese used on everything was awful and I wanted to spit it out. I didn’t enjoy my food

Got the Tlayudas de Tres Carnes. It was huge! Enough food for 2 or 3 people. I like a challenge and tried to eat it all myself while my family looked on in shock/disgust. Really tasty food!

I don't often write negative reviews but probably won't be returning to this restaurant. I was exited to find mole at a restaurant in Merced so I ordered the chicken mole for $18.oo The beans and rice were ok but the chicken mole was probably the worst I've ever had. The mole was very bitter and the chicken was a completely dry, flavorless piece of chicken breast chopped in half. I make my own mole at home and boil the chicken so it's very tender but not sure what they did to this chicken but unfortunately it wasn't edible :[ Hopefully they can figure out the chicken situation for future customers and the mole definitely needs some abuelita chocolate.

I am from South Texas along the border and my mom is from Guerrero and makes the most delicious food, but this is the absolute best Mexican food I’ve had in all of California. The Botana de Oaxaca was AMAZING and a great price for all the variety!!!

The food was enjoyable, although it wasn't quite as authentic as the original recipe. The service could have been improved; the waitress appeared somewhat displeased. Furthermore, a friend of hers visited for a considerable time without attending to our needs.

This place is terrific! Delicious Oaxacan food at reasonable prices. We got the huarache de mole and tlayudas de una sola carne, with chicken. Also the horchata, which was very fresh and came with walnuts and melon sprinkled on top! Everything was great, even the chips and salsa, and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back!

I feel the food was too expensive for what felt like a light snack. It's not very flavorful, but again, it's good for a light snack. The menu prices were not accurate, so I paid more than I expected. The atmosphere is okay and feels less cozy than I expected. The customer service was great. Very kind and attentive. I would support them again.
